currently packing my camera bag to film my first event (a fellow artist's EP launch party). very nervous lol. thank you for all the info & advice you share! been watching your videos and practicing for ages, so i'm fairly confident the event will go well! more footage to add to my barebones portfolio lol
so thankful for discovering your channel recently! picked up my own FX30 moving up from a A7SII and I couldn't be happier. Was using my friends FX30 for a little over a year so I've grown to appreciate the quality that you're able to get from it and knew it was time to snag one up! this just is the push I need to dive into finding clients to work with, thank you !
Thank you for covering the fx30 all the time I just got it couple months ago and I’ve been non stop watching a lot of your content love it. Keep going up mate !!
I do b Cam for a wedding company using this camera, I’m not a Wedding videographer but I was able to leverage this camera to get the job and not use my cinema cameras deal with big file sizes etc ! I also use this camera for my low paying clients that can’t afford my cinema camera and crew etc I love the fact I can do 16 bit raw externally to b cam for some one ! You hit all the points bro this camera is completely versatile and I think Sony really killed it with this one business wise
super grateful for the insight, the information just Butterly effected many young creators towards a new perspective on the abilities of not only the camera but paths within in the industry. love to see the work.
Any quick advice for live streaming for someone totally new to cameras on how to play around with the colors and get more creative (skin tones etc)? I assume the s-log and luts stuff doesn't apply. Picture profile? Creative styles?
I've been tossed up for months between the FX30 and now the A6700. I feel like for me, the A6700 would be the perfect camera if I didn't want to have to worry about overheating. Considering I do also plan to live stream with whichever camera I choose. I know I could buy an Ulanzi fan but I'm not sure if it's something I necessarily want to deal with. Then again, the A6700 setup with lenses would be more cost efficient over the FX30. The choice is a tough one!
Purchased the FX30 in February 2023 and have already made about $5000 with more client shoots to do before the end of the year. I shoot events, weddings, interviews and portraits shoots! Sony outdid themselves with this one!
Thanks for this super useful video. I take it this applies to FX3 too? Also, I've been meaning to start a youtube channel, but I don't know if I should steer to something super specific... or find out as I go. There's a few different things I'm fascinated talking about, such a art direction, storyboarding, observational drawing and writing ----but I don't know if I should stick to one topic OR make youtube videos on a bunch of different interests and see what sticks with me. Any thoughts?
could you make a video (or do you already have a video) going in depth on how you go about finding/getting these freelance jobs? Like ways you reach out to clients/what works etc.?

I need a honest answer from you my brother. I am 2year+ photographer and videographer. I am working in drama industry as a still photographer and behind the scene videographer. But now i want to improve more. I want to work Music industry, Short Film, Interview, Documentaries video and as well portrait photographer, model shoot, product photography and also still photography. And which camera is good for me Fx30 or A7iv? Before i use sony a6400. But now i want to upgrade my camera setup. Budget is tight. But i want a reliable setup for me. In my country most people use A7iv. Now which camera i need to pick?
I’m on the fence I have gone through the whole “let’s buy the cheaper camera and upgrade later” which in the end was more expensive than waiting and buying the one I was going to be happy with. We’ll see, I guess.
Yeah I do a lot of client work with my FX30. The camera paid for itself in under a year, which was pretty cool.
That’s unreal to hear !!
How do I approach a first time client?
How do I get work, I bought an fx3 and a 24-70 and trying to find people to work for
Teach me how I'll pay....
Love hearing this!
