I agree. My school always had anti-drug presentations, usually led by a "professional" showing us boring slide shows with facts and statistics about abuse. That stuff is important, but it isn't going to resonate with kids/teenagers. You know what does? Listening to first hand experience from a guy who lived through the experience tell you how bad it was. Johnny doesn't try to scare you straight; him telling you the unaltered reality of what he experienced is enough to tell you that this isn't a life for anyone.

Johnny is one of my favorite interviews. He keeps it real and doesn’t cap AT ALL. Imagine all the kids and people we could save if people like Johnny went into schools and speak just like this. I guarantee you’ll see a huge drop in drug use amongst kids. It could be a huge benefit to society and Johnny could benefit as well. Instead, schools want cops and people who have no idea what they’re talking about trying to talk to kids and kids can see that. So much raw knowledge that can be put to good use

@@whotelakecity2001 it’s not about making it sound fun, it’s showing them the reality of what drugs do to your life. If I was a kid and had seen Johnny come into my school talking like that, I would have been scared shitless and wouldn’t of ever touched a single drug. Not so much the tougher kids but the ones who are coddled are the ones who need the reality check.

One of the best ways to be able to learn something is to experience it firsthand or learn from someone else’s mistakes. Also, unfortunately alot of kids don’t have father figures in their lives to be able to sit down and talk to them about stuff like that, so I feel it’s important m. Just my 2¢

As someone who used and sold drugs for about a 12 year period that is something I always found interesting. It’s a whole other world that runs parallel to the “normal” peoples lives. You may see a glimpse of it or the very surface but there are millions of little tragedies playing out worldwide. Down alley ways, in parking lots, etc.

    • @johnnyjacuzzi7498

Been into heroin since my early days. Lost good friends, my best friend, my grandfather, uncle, cousin and my only brother to drugs. Took me 40 years to get free. At one point, when I was slinging shit, my gf and me had an ounce a day habit. Had a diamorphine script for a couple of years and you ain't been strung out until you been strung out from that pure white smack. This dude is quite the articulate story teller. Might sound crazy but I could imagine him narrating books or doing voice over work. I’m hoping he makes the decision/the choice to get clean. On a separate note, I went and had some major dental work done where I was prescribed a narcotic for pain afterwards. Normally I won’t take it if I can tolerate the pain but I’ve learned from past experience that it’s wise to get that scripted filled regardless and not need it than to actually need it and not have it. That being said, it’s been many years that I’ve had anything medically done where there was a narcotic needed for aftercare. When my hubby went to pick up the script there was something new and unexpected that came with it. They were giving away a free can of Narcan nasal spray with each narcotic prescription even if it was for temporary use (post surgery) and not long term use. I think it was part of a promotion to make the public aware that Narcan can be purchased over the counter. I don’t personally have a use for it but I kinda feel good knowing that I now have a can of it in my purse. You just never know if it might come in handy.. although I’m hoping not. Has anyone else received this unexpected freebie?

This grief counselor was also a drug and alcohol counselor too. She told me that if an addict doesn't overdose or die in a drug or alcohol related accident, they very rarely live to 70.
