Battlefront 2 was the first game I played from beta to final update, it was a weird feeling playing the last update knowing there was no more. Glad it’s still doing well, especially with mods.
are there any mods that have classic conquest?

@@eddyeddyd mods are only available on pc, I get all my mods at nexus mods they are free and easy to insert to bf. I recommend watching a video on how to insert and download mods.
The team has undeniably made one of the greatest games I have ever seen and played, it still hurts me to watch such an amazing genre so close to my heart with so much potential killed by a delusional robbing company.

@@davidquintero4575 I rarely have trouble finding a game! Unless it’s one of the less-popular modes, like playing as the Resistance or First Order in Supremacy.

I'll never forgive them for cuttting support for Battlefront II. I had so much fun playing it.
I was playing battlefront 1 back then and I decided to try out the 2nd, despite is different in some ways, it's still enjoyable! You can have 40 man lobbies almost every day, where in the first there are almost none, and you can only find 12 man modes, another thing i like about is the way you get the weapons: you dont have to do specific things to get them: just get tons of kills with each class and you're done.
True, hutt contracts where not the greatest idea especially post 2015 support being ended and 2 coming out.
That being said I do love the large amount of base weapons and star cards in the first compared to the second game. For me Battlefront 2’s hero modes, reinforcements and ship combat all are better than 2015’s but the base “regular trooper” gameplay in battlefront 2 is lacking in fun. Not to mention as much as some of the modes in 2017 are great. Walker assault and Cargo are still missed by veterans of the 2015 game and where more fun as modes than anything in 2017 Battlefront 2 in my opinion.
@@locustboy8448 agreed, cargo is what you mostly play these days, and is a good game mode, too bad it's not in the sequel.
Agreed on that challenges part for sure man, I dont have any particular problem with doing actual weapon challenges if they’re fairly designed-but nothing beats making progress by straight up playing the game.
I play on Xbox so I don't have access to mods, but I still love playing it from time to time. The gameplay especially in large modes is just really immersive and fun. I don't play video games often, so this one of the few games I do play.
I wish they at least updated it for the next gen consoles but I agree with ya !

@@budman8926 I got the series x it can run up to 120fps @4k if I wanted , but this specific game is still last gen , the game doesn’t support 4k and still runs at 30fps. My consoles just fine !

I had no idea the modding scene has come so far! I thought it was just stuck on making janky custom heroes like Captain Rex.I’m legitimately so blown away by this all I’m gonna have to download this stuff immediately.
If you get bored with instant action, try removing the hud. It makes lining blaster shots really hard and unique. It's like it's own mini game trying to aim blaster bolts without any sight system.

I just wanna throw in my 2 cents and say if it gets too competitive, I really enjoy this on co-op, especially due to the (relatively) era-accurate AI cosmetics/classes.
It is significantly easier than a regular lobby, but for me it’s honestly a plus. Why become an elite or try to immerse in battle just to get sweated on by a level 850 Solo flying around?
One time I had my hud off and got a really immersive Naboo Defensive with 3 randoms dressed as the 501st hahaha
The game will always have players because it is a star wars theme game
These modded servers are definitely a lot of fun. It just needs more people. Kyber definitely has great potential for BF2 on PC. My little cameo as Captain Rex 0:33 :)
Man this stream was an absolute blast! Even if I wasn't doing the greatest lol, this games modding community has turned the game around and the new characters/weapons make it feel like a whole new game update at times, I just can't wait for future updates to the battlefront+ mod, as well as the upcoming maps that are supposedly in the works!.
Loved this game enough that I learned how to dive into its code and mod it myself. No other game has ever gave me that inspiration
It made me want to create a BF3 but I don't think I could conjure up a masterpiece like supremacy clone era - I literally have to drag myself off that every time I play it's so addictive aha
I absolutely love hopping on BF2 now and again. The clone wars capitol supremacy is really immersive and fun
I just got done playing supremecy on geneosis. That one match went on for an hr and a half. Love it

I never quit playing this game until 2021.
I never abandoned this game while it was getting so much hate, while everyone (including my friends) bashed this game. I had hope, and it payed off. This game is the best Star Wars game IMO. I played it everyday, and now I miss it so much

The game is definitely thriving but if your playing Heroes vs Villains it's usually filled with one team who has players from day 1 and the other team with brand new players which is very annoying as most games are just watching 2 of your teammates taking out an entire team.
Knowing that Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5 were cancelled for BF2042 is so depressing. That game is getting better and I don't think that they will give up on it (learing from the mistake of their previous 2 cancellations) but it's such a bittersweet feeling that BF2042 gets to live but two much better games don't.
Imagine what we content we’d be getting if support was still on for this game

It's been three years since the last update?! Time really has flown by.
Nothing beats getting steamrolled in Supremacy, holding the enemy back from your ships generators, going back to the ground and steamrolling them and then destroying their capital ship... It's awesome!
Me and my friends have had so much fun on kyber and using mods. It is the best thing that could have happened to BF2 after it's cancellation

the story of this game is a great example of how publishers and game studios often have no idea what people want or how to make money. Like seriously there was a win win situation here for investors and gamers but both lost out due to incompetence

It really is a fun game. Very underrated, and pretty friendly community, as well. People that hated it from the start are really missing out..
Well think about it. First impressions are really important. A lot of people arent going to play it if its not good at launch(every game should be good at lauch btw). They are not going to wait til it gets good after a year. Yeah fair enough they had a good comeback but thats no excuse for it having a terrible launch.

What rly is impressive here is the fact that even tough the Game is dead ( 0 Support ) but the Overall ( Xbox/PS/PC ) Player Base is Not. This is veeery unusual for a Game which is Not supported at all any more. All i can say as a Gamer and consumer is that i hate EA
I got battlefront 2 on epic games when it was free but have only now played it. It is definitely quite enjoyable
Battlefront is great but to me the Galactic Contention mod for Squad is everything star wars games should be. Its a shame its broken right now but its getting fixed real soon
Remember that you can always switch battlefront 2 servers from the settings menu in game on console. Made finding matches actually possible as Australian servers are dead.
I'm still playing this on console all this time. Fair warning though. If you fell off, and you come back, it's a sweat fest
the thing with battlefront 2 is that it's fun for a month or two and then you just don't play it anymore for a while, but once you come back it just hooks you again
Glad to hear the game is thriving where you live, unfortunately it’s so dead in aus, gotta play Japanese servers to have any hope of getting into any matches, and you only find them via the quick match button, which most times just puts you in co op or a nearly empty GA lobby

@@Renekor I’m not sure if you mean battlefront or battlefield there but on battlefront it can be nearly unplayable, I’d assume to the high player count in matches, lots of rubber banding and unresponse. I’ve played some battlefield 1 and cause of the custom servers have not had to switch regions.
Star Wars Battlefront II is a great multiplayer game for those who have played and are experienced with Battlefield 5 or 1 games. It even runs better on the same computer than those games and demands less than them. It is in many ways similar to them and is in this way familiar for the players of the Battlefield series, and the content is excellent. There are air combat units and vehicles in a similar way, and there are players even today. This, among other things about this, is important to know for anyone who is interested.

Tried on and off to play this game over the years and it’s still pretty terrible in my opinion. Some people like it but here’s how every match goes:
HvV: You WILL go up against a team of high level players or low level players 8/10 matches. A 4v4 quickly becomes 4v3 and so on the second a team is down by 5 or so. I honestly can’t blame them because you’re either up against a mostly max team or players who are new. Both leave when they lose and very rarely are matches close.
Supremacy: Matches can be fun, but usually games last for 45min or so and it’s actually not that fun when the game is fair and teams are equal. You’ll usually leave at this point and didn’t really feel like you accomplished anything.
Hero Showdown: You WILL fight Max players who BREATHE this game and you WILL wait if the team becomes unbalanced even though it should just let you 1v1 a random member of the other team then refill your health for fighting the other guy if you win.
GA: You WILL be put on a losing team unless the game feels charitable. Usually this is because that team is getting steamrolled and spots open up. Want to take out Walkers of any kind? Well your team better be good because that WILL rarely happen from my experience on both sides.
The clones WILL win on Geonosis unless half of the team runs a Heavy.
P.S. - The “WILL” is like the games rules. These events will essentially happen to anyone who plays the game so they may as well come up on the tips screen.
Can confirm, you can only play coop and the occasional HvV game from New zealand and Australia, longest i waited in an empty lobby for a match of galactic assault was like 45 minutes or so. like one or two people out of the needed 20 will join, and then leave. you can however get lucky with a quick game and land a full Galactic assault lobby, but dont be surprised if it matchmakes you into another empty lobby post match
I've been playing the game since day of release...& currently it's not in a good state online...almost at times unplayable(issues I've noticed):
Assault class: Toughen up doesn't work, especially in GA & Surpemacy(where it seems it has the adverse effect of you dying in 1 hit).
Specialist: Infiltration doesn't work all the time( highlights your team & enemy heroes but not enemy troopers) & I'm not convinced your invisible on radar as intended.
Sith Trooper: Recently noticed Seeker ability not working in games of GA & Surpemacy.
Light Sabre Heroes: Feels at times that your not hitting opponents & passing through them, also abilities work in some matches & not in others.
There are also other issues & I know most of these are probably server issues with the player base getting smaller.( Games when feel I'm clearly doing no damage) & I do have decent Internet connection.
It's getting frustrating, I'm quitting more games then I've ever been ( Surpemacy for me is practically unplayable).
I'm also highly suspicious of the Level cap system.
It's still one of the best Star Wars games...just not in good shape at the moment.
On the Playstation Servers, it's active on weekends but it takes longer on weekdays. I rarely find players in the nonmainstream game modes like the Ewok One or Hero One. Almost everyone on PlayStation only plays clone wars stuff.
Online sucks on PC you get hackers that make everyone immortal so no one dies, thus no stakes in the battle.
Ah yes making rocket propelled grenades love it.

very interesting really cool seeing more of the mods in more detail but the thing is for me on console if I'm lucky there are rarely hero showdown heroes vs villains and usually co op so it's pretty dead for me but I still play it I don't even know why

Would love to see those mods on console. Like having a re-release of bf2 with the best mods of the community. I would pay for it if we don't get any new battlefront games for a while.
Skyrim Anniversary edition is like that where you can play with mods of PS4 and Xbox. So there's a precedent for that

For its age this games graphics still hold up really well
It's the biggest shame ever that this game prioritized Profit instead of Community. The absolute GOLDMINE of Content updates they could have added based on the endless spinoff Disney Created for the Star Wars Universe could have made this game as good as the OG Battlefront 2(005)

I have been playing DICE’s Star Wars BF since 2015 when the OG came out, I was more hyped about the first & put just as if not more time in that game compared to BF2 and how long I owned each game.
I have had BF2 since launch now and yes the devs and EA in 2017 were at peak micro transactions & pay to win idea and that ruined any fun for me. That being said, in 2023 the game has held up tremendously and even though half on PS5 of the player count are bots the modes on weekends are queued instantly . I love the game and BF2 took to long to get the updates it desperately needed but once it did it became an amazing multiplayer Star Wars game.
The game modes, the (eventual) solid Jedi & Sith roster they added from 2017-2020; although Mace Windu & Qui-Gon Jinn or even the really small stuff like after BF1’s release in 2015 everyone was screaming on Reddit to include the OG Ben Kenobi skin or Luke’s Starfighter pilot skin like from the old-school BF on PlayStation 2.
If they ever decide to make a BF3 they would have so much to expand on and if they use a modified version of the Motive or Criterion engine & keep the variety of modes/eras/skins for the molding of BF3, it would sell amazing. EA would have hopefully learned that it’s much better to wait for a game that’s truly finished so if they launched BF3 EA wouldn’t have to worry about the negative comments from the community about how the game was empty or broken.
If they fixed the SSR this gsme would be the best looking game ever made and runs like a champ.
Still disappointed like most that we didn’t get Mace and Ashoka and Thrawn and General Veers and Dengar, but Kyber saved it big time.

What's really incredible...is that I got BF2 Celebration Edition for just $10.00! I generally don't go for games made from movies(one exception being James Bond)...because it's usually just a money grab & such games tend to be poorly made. However...this game is very impressive & tons of fun! It feels like a film sequel, but interactive and beautifully executed.
This game had me wrapped around a chokehold when it came out
