There's a _lot_ of differences, to the point where practically the only things they have in common are the characters' names. I highly recommend reading it. Because a lot of public songs are super simplistic or just weird or with bad melodies - mainly cuz there's no large story arcto represent - anime openings tend to have some symbolism/reflection on the anime itself, which makes it more meaningful to the story and itself, but also to us who have watched the anime.

Because a lot of public songs are super simplistic or just weird or with bad melodies - mainly cuz there's no large story arcto represent - anime openings tend to have some symbolism/reflection on the anime itself, which makes it more meaningful to the story and itself, but also to us who have watched the anime.
