Once you've seen IDOL live in concert, you're a changed person. The members energy and an entire stadium jumping & singing "you can't stop me lovin' myself!" It's seriously a spiritual experience.

100% agree!! Screaming and hearing the entire stadium screaming “You can’t stop me loving myself” was so moving- it changed my life and is one of my all time favorite memories
The song definitely uses Afrobeats. In addition they incorporate several African dances, including the Gwara-Gwara from South Africa, Shaku Shaku from Nigeria, and the Afro-Brazilian Maracatu.
The Snow White sweater refers to a famous Halloween dance practice for their song Gogo. They played a rock-paper-scissors game and whoever lost had to dress up like Snow White (the other six dressed like dwarves - V was the loser (but we all won). There are also other shoutouts - RM with the Snapchat filters refers to criticism he received in the past for using too many filters and effects, so he just decided to amplify it :D
If you liked the message of this song I think you would enjoy 2 more songs: "Epiphany" - solo song from Jin of BTS and "Love Myself" - a group song that used to be sung at the end of their tour. Those 2 songs are so powerful, especially the live versions.

They also have songs in Japanese. They are the ONLY ARTISTS to ever have three songs in three different languages (Korean, English, and Japanese) on the Billboard Sales chart at the same time.
I recently had the pleasure of watching the busan concert in cinemas with my wife and the whole cinema went mad (including myself) when this song came on.
BTS idol Live is 1 of the many best performances from BTS, especially when they performed it on The Tonight Show Jimmy Fallon, we can all hear their live vocals with a very tiring dance 😁 please give a reaction to it 😁

If you want their “true energy” watch them in concert. It’s like no other. They have broken so many records, they can only break their own in lots of things. They are also in the Guinness Book MANY times.
They do sample other sounds and it's clear in many of their songs. Try Airplane Pt 2. IT has a latin sound. They are not boxed in by a genre.
YES it is afro beats its a mixture of afro beats and korean traditional instruments same with the clothes and dances through out the video some are African and some are Korean !! :)
They have quite a few songs like this, talking to their haters. Can you imagine these super talented humble sweet guys have hate?!! They do sadly. But they’ve always rose above. They respond in song and tell themselves and their fans to love themselves and don’t worry about haters.

I am again late to the party. But I will say that this song and video are a combination of embracing their Korean culture while giving homage to their global fans. They know they have fans in Africa, South America, and other continents and countries, so they try to give to all the fans while being themselves, and I love that you picked up on that and the meaning of song. 💜

I love this song and mv because it was the one who made me discover BTS when they released the video because it surpassed the record of views from a music video in youtube the first 24h (the record was hold in that time by Taylor Swift). i think it's more korean influences in this song since it's use some the traditional musics and dances. the koreans use very colorfull stuffs in the culture and traditional outfits
