- My reaction to The Inbetweeners Episode 2 "Bunk Off" from Season 1. Will, Simon, Jay and Neil are up to no good again. This might be the best show I've seen out of the UK. ENJOY!

Inbetweeners is one of the few shows that gets better with every series. Classic
Might be the only show I've ever seen that had a good last episode.
I think series 2 was by far the most rounded series. 1 was introduction, 3 got a little OTT IMO.
Inbetweeners pool slide scene u will collapse with laughter and disgust this is a scene from one of the two inbetweeners movies yes they made movies 🤣 enjoy big man
Fashion show is the best scene ever. You know the one...
@@guyblack no way. The boat scene.
The guy selling the alcohol is pretty realistic. He knew Will was under age, but decided he didn’t care
The attitude to underage drinking in the uk is pretty relaxed, certainly compared to the us. Although the actual drinking age is 5, buying it under 18 is the issue. Generally nobody cares much as long as they keep themselves out of trouble.
When we were 14 we used to buy from a shop that had a rivalry with a bigger off-license a few doors down. It was easy enough, we could have whatever drink and cigarettes we wanted but if we got caught with it we had to say it was from the dude who ran the other shop 😂😂 man could not have given less of a shit about serving underage kids. I’m 32, so it’s been a while but my guy is still open. Excellent customer service 👌
bossman dont care about age
I was the youngest person in my year but always got made to buy the drink because I was 6 foot and had a beard. It was funny when they asked me if I was buying for “those kids”
Finding a offie or a boozer like that was amazing. None of the charade of pretending to be over 18, no fake IDs. The person serving knew you were under 18 and didn't give a shit. Kids, if you find one of these, cherish it.
This series is exactly how us British teenagers grew up in the mid 2000’s, we can relate soo much to this!
100%
im 60 and it was the same in my days just more modern now
@@frankwilson634 ditto
Mr Davies was my teacher, and a lot of the stories in Inbetweeners are almost exactly things that happened to me.
@@vespacheck 100%😂
At the time this was filmed gin was very much an older generation drink in the UK too, which is part of why it's funny that's what Will came out with.
Ironically now gin is very popular with 20-30 year olds. Will was just ahead of the curve!
People be drinking rayan nephews nowadays 🤮🤮
Love a pink gin
Did the gin resurgence not reach America then?
with alcohol in the uk as a teen, you would literally raid your parents cupboard and pour the most you thought you could get away with into separate bottles. Thats why i find it funny when i see americans having their first drink at 18-21, because in the uk we all start drinking in some random field at about 14/15 having the most disgusting alcohol on the planet because that was the only option
“Frothing at the gash” is my favourite line in all of inbetweeners and it never even raised an eyebrow with you 😳
The reason this was so popular in the UK is because it was a total nostalgia trip for adults.
Massively exaggerated for comedy but pretty much right otherwise.
“Frofthing at the gash” lol oh boy lol
Jay and his one liners/stories lol
Love this show lol Good old fashioned British dirty humour.
The reason why its so well written is because its based off stories that the producers did when they were at school
Gin has made a huge resurgence in the UK, it's a trendy drink now. 😁
Hopefully if you invite Queen Boomer to react to Episode: 3 with you, bring her up to speed and show her the first two episodes first. I’m enjoying your appreciation of the show! 👍
I thought he meant Queen Elizabeth, I was gonna get her on the phone
Totally happy for you to restart with her before progressing.
@@dylanmurphy9389 dont think that will happen now ..😂
It's the only comedy that requires a headache pill. You laugh so much you are left with a tight band around your head. After a few shows we were taking them in readiness .
Bunk Off is a great episode just hilarious. In fact every episode of The Inbetweeners is great, there isn't one bad episode. They get into all sorts of crazy situations as late teenagers too. You gotta finish the whole Series man it's just brilliant. I went to Secondary School in London in late 70s and this is the kids shit we got up to every day. This show is so true to life. Hilarious show. Great reaction man.
This is the one episode I always come back to even 10+ years after watching it for the first time
This whole show might have well been a documentary of my teen years (a long time ago now!).
I love the fact that this show is based on the writers actual lives, it so so so funny. Defining programme of teenage life in the 00s and 10s
Fun fact, Carly’s dad is Anthony Stewart-head who played Giles in Buffy the Vampier Slayer. He makes a cameo as wills dad in one of the movies of the Inbetweeners
He's actually Wills dad
@@trojkjones7183 In the first film he plays Wills dad but in real life he's the dad of the actress who plays Carly.
@@trojkjones7183 that’s what I said, he plays wills dad but in real life he’s the dad of the actress who plays Carly
Fun fact... he also lives about 10 miles away from me.... I keep seeing him in the local Tesco buying wine 😂
we know
I’ve watered down my parents vodka before 🤣 never did notice
Gin is pretty hipster now, it's like craft ale, you get micro breweries with weird, quirky flavours. But yes, I always used to see it as a drink for 'older' people. This show is great because it reminds me of my teens. By the way, they're not in high school but sixth form, which is where you go after you finish high school to study in order to get into university.
I do like some flavoured gins. I can’t drink it with tonic water though. It’s too dry. Has to be with lemonade.
I’m not a fan of tonic water either, definitely prefer lemonade with gin. Looks awesome under a UV light though, the quinine makes glow a sort of purpley colour
it gets better and better as the episodes go on
Thankyou, booms
You're practically a brit now
keep up the great videos
gin is really big in the UK...new artisan brewers popping up all over the place..80 million bottles sold last year.
I'm glad you're enjoying this series its legendary in the UK because its so relatable to when we were this age. I hope you continue to react to every episode and then the 2 movies also 😃
Id give the second movie a miss
Gin and tonic has massively come back in the UK man. Most of the people I know drink either that or beer as there no1.
100% I had done that, to about 20 bottles of Whiskey! This really was my upbringing in the UK .
There's something about when Simon says "No, you're the sad because... TWAT!" that always tickles me. It's like he couldn't think of a comeback and just shouts a swear.
Also, I realised at the end, when Will said "We also hit a spastic with a frisbee", that you skipped the intro where they are playing with a frisbee in the park. I don't know if you missed that part or made a conscious decision to not show it in the video. That would have been a fun reaction to see.
I think he's cutting stuff out, he didn't include much of the first pub in episode 1
It’s because of copyright
@@hhannahh7835 that is something that a lame teenage boy would shout though. I can’t remember the original scene but it still works
@@hhannahh7835 there's nothing cut out in that scene. Simon says "No, you're the sad because... twat, you're such a little - fuck, shit!" because he's floundering
@@newo1043 there’s loads of clips of it up on RUclips though
Gin is such a trendy summertime drink in the UK.
Such a great show... I've watched every series so many times!!!
Trendy summer time drink for benders
@@CrazyPanda688 Benders & women! 😂
Gin is massive in Europe and there’s literally thousands of types, very fashionable
This show is lightning in a bottle. Absolutely love it and watch it on a yearly basis, yet still crease over with laughter every time. Some references Americans won't necessarily get, but it won't diminish the experience too much.
Bad education, is another hilarious comedy show 😂👍
Bad Education is really hilarious.
@xJester196 …..never heard of fresh meat before, looks good thanks 👍😁
I know this is an old comment but I never ever found another show like the inbetweeners, thanks so much for this because it pretty much captures the same vibe. I grew up in South Africa so am so used to British humour that I always missed the inbetweeners.
@@stefannag2015 …..the movie called “the festival “ 2019 is a bit like the inbetweeners movie but funnier 👍😁
Gin has really become popular and fashionable again, there are so many craft gins and flavoured tonics to be enjoyed these days.
That's interesting re gin & tonic. In Britain, it's super popular with all ages and has become especially trendy in the last 5 years or so
Gin has had a revival in the UK, it's not just for old people.
You'll be pleased to know there are movies too!
The two guys that wrote this went to school a couple of miles from where I live and based it on this area of North West Kent just outside London. The shopping mall you will see later in the series called waterside is a mix of two real malls nearby, bluewater and lakeside.
I don’t watch reaction RUclips much, but you seem like a really genuine bloke and it’s really fun to watch you experience my childhood staple shows for the first time! I’ve lived outside the UK for years at this point and none of my mates appreciate the brilliance of British tv, so it’s great to watch you do it, I don’t miss an upload at this point :)
Edit: Gin is the most popular liquor in England and possibly Wales too, Scotland and NI are very much whiskey territory
gin & tonic is really popular these days in the UK.
my misses has completely switched from drinking white wine to gin & tonic.
Will McKenzie - main guy with the glasses.
Jay Cartwright - blonde lad who lies all the time.
Neil Sutherland - tall dumb one with the gay dad.
Simon Cooper - puked on Carli's brother.
And yes, the show is absolute genius!
Gin is made a massive comeback in Britain, all ages drink it
Gin used to be an old persons drink in th uk too but it is massively popular now with all ages. In my city there is a pub that sells 50 differnent types of gin. It has moved on from a simple gin and tonic and has many mixers and flavours.
My local beer festival actually did gins and there was quite a few of them. It was more of an alcohol festival coz they did ciders vodkas whiskeys whatever
100% agree, this show is hilarious. I missed it when shown on tv but my sister in law bought me the dvd box set a few years ago and I never looked back , still love it now, cringe comedy at its best 👍 ….all the best, “bald f-ing orange 🍊“
everybody in the UK drinks Gin its Epic, we have 100's of different flavours , from rhubarb to ginger gin, we even have just Gin specific bars !!
It just gets better and better as their characters develop and you also get to know them. When you really get to know them better, there are the movies to watch.
Wills first explosion was a thing of beauty
In tropical British colonies gin was used to mask the bitter flavour of quinine, which was the only effective anti-malarial compound. Quinine was dissolved in carbonated water to form tonic water; the resulting cocktail is gin and tonic, although modern tonic water contains only a trace of quinine as a flavouring.
In London in the early 18th century, much gin was distilled legally in residential houses (there were estimated to be 1,500 residential stills in 1726) and was often flavoured with turpentine to generate resinous woody notes in addition to the juniper.[18] As late as 1913, Webster's Dictionary states without further comment, "'common gin' is usually flavoured with turpentine".[11] Wikipedia.
Gin is massively popular here in the UK, we have gin bars .. love it 😂
I love gin, it's a drink which has always been popular in the UK but at the moment it's very much in vogue to drink gin for all ages, most bars are stocked with dozens of different flavoured gins these days, a few years ago you could say the same about Prosecco, 15 years or so back it was cider (hard cider, all cider is alcoholic in the UK), we like to be told what to drink in the UK so we always have a drink which is fashionable which all the people who can't make their mind up drink religiously, until the next trend comes along, it's part of our binge drinking culture. That episode always makes me wonder if they drank it neat though, Gin NEEDS a mixer, it's not great neat like whisky or vodkae etc.
Great to see a fellow Welshman here 😁👍👍👍👍
@@And_Zo Ditto, My Dad was a train driver for 49 years!
Rubarb and ginger gin the best
Really like how much you're enjoying this. Somehow makes me feel like I'm watching it again for the first time!
Gin is the 'in' tipple in many places right now and has been for a few years. So many different types that even bars that solely sell gin exist. Its now a drink for the younger end.
My mother and grandmother knew it as Mothers ruin!
Absolute classic! Us brits could relate to a lot of the things they get up to in this show when growing up. This was one of the best shows on TV back then and still to this day! It was so popular, they even made a film. It was good but not as funny as the series.
Gin is really big over here in the UK. Its really taken off with different flavours over recent years.
The off licence fella deffo knew Will was underage and didn’t care. Reminds me of when I was 16. We did Grease the musical at school and on the final night I went to the local off-licence with £80 that I’d got from a load of the other teens doing the play. Walked in and got bottles of whisky, baileys, vodka and beer. Guy behind the counter obviously knew I was underage but didn’t care. I was 6ft at that point so looked older… we all went back to one of the female teachers house and had an after party, the, me and one of my friends stayed the night on the teachers sofa bed! So dodgy thinking back but good times….
For those that don't know or care, Carly is Anthony Head's daughter, the Library guy in Buffy.
Who plays Wills Dad in the movie too
I didn’t know and I care, that’s cool!
Gin used to be like that in England but lately it’s become very popular with Gin bars setting up with hundreds of different brands
Man you have to watch "The IT Crowd ". One of the best british tv shows ever.
It's all about being a teenager and most of us have tried a few things featured in this show . It's well made and brings back a few good or bad memories , I reckon Greg Davies wasn't far away from his character when he actually was a teacher . A couple of great stories on WILTY . about his teaching days and of course he is the Taskmaster . Joe was on one series as well .
From what I've hear Greg was like a Teddy bear when he was a teacher, so I doubt he was like that.
I haven't seen this for years I love watching this and also watching someone from across pond find it so funny.
Anyone who grew up as teenager in early 2000s can relate so much to these guys and banter is as British as it gets so accurately done!
Can't wait for next episode !
Bruh! Gotta do all 3 seasons they just get funnier and funnier, the film's are silly funny too .... Hope you and the missus had a nice holibobs
King Boomer, I'm loving watching you discover this show. I'm so glad you found it. I watched it when it came out, and to this day it remains in my top 10 British TV shows.
I had a huge grin on my face for most of the episode watching you experience this. Great stuff!
I do think you should get Queen Boomer to watch from the start, though.
Gin and Tonic with ice and lemon on a hot day. Can't beat it! (Gin neat is nasty!). Oh and been enjoying those for many years and I'm nowhere near 60!
Drink Gin with ice, bitter tonic and ice.
Refreshing on a summer day.
You would be amazed at the variety of gin available in the UK
I’m so happy you like this so much. I have watched this countless amount of times and Love it so much.
Gin and tonic is very trendy drink for youngsters and olders in the uk. Rumnon the rise now too
Gin is pretty big in the Uk right now, probably the number once choice of liquor… but that’s because there have been so many released in fruity or unique flavours over the last few years - Strawberry, Pineapple, Blackberry, Lemon, cherry blossom and lychee, plum and cherry, spiced gin, rhubarb, cactus and lime… you get the point lol.
I can’t believed you skipped the opening scene, it’s the best part
Can’t wait to see Queen Boomers reaction! If you like this you should try watching “Friday Night Dinner”, it has “Will” in it
This was a brilliant reaction, im so pleased you like the Inbetweeners. It's so funny and the episodes will get better. Keep these reactions coming!
I hope you don’t stop at the third episode. You should watch the whole series and the next lot of series too. In order of course. I don’t know if you realised why it’s called Inbetweeners? If not, it means
A teenage Sub-Group, ie. People who are not cool enough to be popular but are not nerdy enough to be geeks. Makes sense.
I always took it to mean they're like not cool enough to be the cool kids but not such losers as the nerds

Love that you love it and yes, I’m 32 and a lot of people drink gin here, very summery drink !
Enjoy the rest of the shows and hope your Channel takes off for both yourself and Queen B !
Love your reactions, subscribed. Can't wait for more Inbetweeners reactions!
Gin is popular here, most girls I know in their 20s-30s order Gin and Tonics.
This is my favourite episode in the history of TV
Your reactions are absolute class. I've subscribed. Long live the king!
Gin had a resurgence in the UK with lots of gin bars popping up. Like with craft beers, it came with a hipster label.
I'm in my late 30's now and gin is the only paletable spirit left as it's the only drink I didn't binge in my younger years. Any other spirits make me feel ill now, just by association. It's also become a very trendy drink over here over the last few years for some reason.
I have a bit of a drinking problem and even I hate Taquila....and Gin makes most people depressed, I'll only drink it if it's free.
It was nice to hear you are a Bartender in the last Episode! I did it for about 10 years and it makes you a nicer person to service staff anywhere because you know.
glad to see youre enjoying this, i genuinely think this is like peak entertainment for our generation (the ones in high school when this came out) everyone watched it, knew the references, you could use the quotes in school for laughs, it was a cultural phenomenon in my opinion
Change the last was to is. It's not a generational thing. My dad loved it when he was alive and I love the show as well. Maybe not older people as they dont like swearing (and people say my generations easily offended lol)
Thanks for making these! brings me back to my childhood
Did you hear about the lassie who stole her dad's vodka and replaced it with water and put it back in the cupboard. When she turned 21, she asked her dad if he had any alcohol as her friends were coming round, he ended up giving her the exact bottle she stole. Hed never drank it and didn't even know it was just water.... karma at its finest.
This is great and glad you took the chance watching something you didn't think you'd enjoy, you really should also watch Father Ted full episodes as, imo, it's even better!
I came across your videos thanks to your first inbetweeners video. As a Brit it’s brilliant to see you enjoying this show, this is such a funny show, gets better and better with each season too. After the series ends you have the two movies as well, you’re gonna have a blast.
Actually forgot how funny these are, had me in stitches, it actually gets even better 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The doll scene/bit at the end was just amazing.

OMG I still remember seeing that puke scene for the first time. You never could have predicted it. LOL
lol one of the best comedy uk series great u guys enjoying it over the pond it’s a different kind of humour but it’s so freaking good
Back in the day, I was playing at a hotel in Israel.
Our band had finished its set, and we went back to one of our rooms - but, slight problem, everywhere was shut and we had no booze.
The only option was the minibar - but that would have cost us an absolute fortune.
We raided it anyway, and stuck to whisky.
Then we replaced the whisky with Vosene shampoo that looked very similar - and put the tops back on, before replacing them in the fridge.
So funny it never gets old , well you've done it now so 2 seasons and 2 movies to get through, can't wait for you to see them all
Love your reactions to this keep ‘em coming 🤣
It just gets better and better. Knew you would like it. It's so well written, very real , hilarious and well acted. The two films they made are even better.
I wasn't keen on the second film, but the bit in the nightclub in the first film where they dance across to the girls is one of my favourite bits in the whole sequence of shows and films.
King....a Gin and tonic in the summer is refreshing and those who say it's not a man's drink...check out the alcohol content! It's a myth it's for old people too. That said after beer, I'm a rum or bourbon drinker and love a good quality single malt whisky too. I'm not an alcoholic 🤣Cheers 🍻 🍻🥃👍
