Thank you so much for making this video. I'm a career EA with almost 12 years of experience including some at global tech companies but Google was still so overwhelming and intimidating to interview for! This video and your others on Googleyness and the hiring process were so helpful in me wrapping my head around what they wanted to get out of certain questions. It made thinking of examples so much easier and it really helped me to focus my responses. I got my offer last week and I'm so excited to start my adventure with Google! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Great Video and super helpful! I have my two initial interviews tomorrow! I am taking on all these questions to prep! So exciting! Send me all the good luck!
Wow Jeff thanks so much for this video and the others you make available for all of us. They are very insightful. you definately have credit in helping me land my ABP role @ Google !!
Such a great video!! The preparation needed for these interviews can be a lot - so glad you touched on the need for a bit extra, and the sample Q & A was great!
Tina, THANK YOU for your support in making this video great, couldn't have done it without you. And for your continued positive contributions on the weekly lives, you just make everything better!
This is super helpful. I just had my two initial interviews and am waiting to hear if I am moving forward to team interviews. In case I do, I am taking on all these questions to prep!
@@jeffhsipepi Hi Jeff!! Had to circle back and share that I was offered the ABP position… and successfully negotiated up with your advice. Could not have done this without your videos!! Such valuable info, thank you for ALL the work you do, I begin in two weeks!! 🙌🏼
Hi Jeff, just wanted to see if you can provide more insight on team matching! Is it just more situational questions? Behavioral questions? Or is it more conversational topics about who you are? Thank you so much!!
I searched “entry level” jobs on Google’s website and ABPs came up, but from the sound of this video it sounds like you need more experience. What is your thoughts on that? I’m trying to find positions to apply to at Google with not too much experience but definitely the personality and work ethic for it!
Alyssa, great question. ABPs are typically not entry level roles. Search for roles that have the title Associate, this is usually a good indication they are L3 roles, good luck!
Hi Jeff!! Thank you for your advice - the sample question and answer structure has given me a better idea of how to answer an open ended question. After completing the phone screen, I now have two interviews back to back. What will these two interviews be about? I'm assuming one will be a GCA
You mentioned that there is a lot of internal and external competition for these roles. Is it because the salary is higher than some other internal roles? Do you know how much ABPs usually make at google? There's limited amount of data out there about this. Also, is an ABP like an EA?
Olivia-in-Progress, it is not because the salary is higher, it is because there are so many transferrable skills that could be applied to this role, especially by internal candidates. The pay depends on the level and market, but these roles do pay well. An ABP has some of the same functions as an EA, but the role also has a partnership/strategic element as well.
Such a helpful video! Question - I got cut after my team match interview. The recruiter said my feedback was great and that they would keep me on file if any future ABP jobs came into the queue - this was about three weeks ago... Do you think I should reach out to see if I would be a good fit for any new teams trying to hire ABPs?
Hello Jeff, if double booking a space is an issue, why did it happened in the first place? Is there a way to design a system to avoid such a problem from occurring? If a space is booked for an event, it should not allow me to book it twice for that same day. If we ask questions rathe running around to fix the same problem again again we will never fix the root of the problem. All your solutions sound good which I will do if I was faced with such a problem, but you did not address the root of the problem.
@@AmandaLuther-h8q I don't know, but I can tell you that ABPs are much more likely to have to be in the office than other roles. So at a minimum, I would expect most ABPs to be at least hybrid.
@emmettkate1370, I am just guessing, but most ABPs are probably hybrid, I am sure there are remote ABPs, but it may be harder to get a remote role for this job type.
Hi Jeff! I've been trying to get more salary data on the ABP role in my area. However most times HRBP is returned in my search. ABP seems to be more of a Google term. What's a comparative job title for the same role at comparable companies?
MarknCandace Wade, this is similar to an Executive Assistant role at other organizations, but I strongly suggest you use this video to guide you - ruclips.net/video/ClJCQrEO-JY/видео.html
irfan munir, it really depends on level, but I would try to negotiate as much as you can because in India, not enough candidates negotiate. I would imagine for the typical levels for these roles 5-6 million INR, but with a good negotiation maybe more.
HI everyone, I had an amazing opportunity to connect with multiple ABP's to help you have success in these interviews, good luck!!

ABP - Customer Engagement - how much does this salary go for in Irvine?
@user-pg2ib3ft2u, the most common level for an ABP is an L4, so an L4 ABP in Irvine would make a total comp in Year 1 in the low 200's.
do you have a job posting on this? On the base salary what is it? Also, a JD would be helpful for the irvine@@jeffhsipepi
And is the L4 fully remote if you live near Irvine?

They phased out remote completely from their company, so it would likely be a hybrid role with 2 days remote and 3 days in person
