Although I have never done any ploughing because I live in an area of North Yorkshire that is all livestock farming and not being born onto a farm I am fascinated by ploughing. I have worked on farms but again, only livestock farms and today do welding repairs and occassional farm work amongst plant and vehicle welding repairs. I follow quite a few farming channels and I watched a video of a chap in Ireland ploughing a field for reseeding with a grass ley. What plough did he have a four furrow Kvernland and it was being pulled with a John Deere 6R 215. And I thought to myself, that looks a tad ridiculous on the back of that tractor, it should be a six furrow to get more efficiency out of the job. And then your video pops up and we have a John Deere of half the rated horsepower pulling virtually the same plough. A reason to subscribe because of the great way you guys explain the set up. I have to say, the tractor looks just big enough to handle the plough but makes it look easy and on what looks to be brilliant soil!
Interesting stuff! 100hp tractor on 4 furrow plough seems to be the ultimate in efficiency if not ultimate output. 200hp tractors don’t manage 8 furrows and 300hp ones certainly don’t pull 12!!
More farmers seem to be returning to ploughing. Fantastic plough - noted small tractor - dammit now I'm forced to remove my 2 furrow reversible plough sat on the back of my John Deere 7280R boosted to 310hp....bugger!!!
Exactly, it’s diabolical lol, l commented on a video once about the very same thing and response was that it was the only tractor spare that they had with air con, fair enough but as we all know, most larger farmers have got rid of their small tractors.

Nice video, i used to pull a 4f KV plough with a JD 2850, no problem to it. The HP some guys need these days is laughable

What model is the plough, thinking of buying a 4furrow ED 85 for my class 110hp tractor!
at last a farmer who doesn't need a fendt 1050 on a haybob.
