I am not charismatic but I kinda have a tendency of manipulating people who don't know the real facts of a situation. And I love Greg's acting and eyeliner! I got surprised when he slammed the spoon.
People, having SOME of these traits does not mean you are a psychopath, there are a plethora of other traits that a psychopath has other than these. You could only prove that you are a psychopath by seeing an expert about it. Also, I do not see how being a psychopath is a hip and cool thing.
yea that makes sense,i thought i was a psycopath cause i dont feel guilty and empathetic for stuff but it turns out i just dont give a shit=not a psycopath
***** Sorry, maybe I could've phased that differently. But seeing so many people comment that they are totally a psychopath or crazy pisses me off because I personally feel that they are insulting mentally ill people.
NOT A COOL THING, IT JUST LETS U STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD AND BE A PART of that "1% of people". Personally, i don't mind that, that simply would be a justification for me being an asshole all this time.
You won’t get diagnosed a psychopath unless you are in the prison system, they won’t even administer the tests as far as I know, if you aren’t in and out of prison or mental wards it’s probably not a big enough problem for a label like that.
1% of the population is psychopathic but 99% here in the comments acts like they are. Had to break your dreams there and it's not necessarily something beneficial to anyone either.
I probably sound like everyone in the comments right now, but I honestly think I have a problem. I may not be a "psychopath" but a lot of the traits in this video were things I can relate to, and even if I don't want to, for some reason I smile or chuckle when I get the news of someone's death. It's something I can't hold back and I struggle so much to hide it. I get really offended by all these people in the comments saying they got this and got that, even though I haven't been properly diagnosed. Honestly it makes me want to kill myself, I hurt people because I speak without any self control, I don't even apologise, my pride won't let me, because honestly, even until now, I don't think I'm wrong. I always flip when my sister says she's always right. And she makes fun of me for being so short tempered and getting offended easily. I can't afford a therapist and I'm in no way telling my parents, or any one, about this. They don't listen to me. I don't want to listen to them either.
PrimaPunchy Are you sure? Cause I've heard different explanations about it, but the most recent time I got an explanation for this, they said sociopaths are normal in the brain, but they still act very badly. In other words, you're born a psychopath, but you become a sociopath. But like I said, I'm not sure, because I've heard many explanations for this.
Kristoffer Stalsberg That's the explanation I've heard as well, though I haven't had any real conformation, so you never know. Still, there isn't enough difference between sociopath and psychopaths to do two different videos about is...
Kristoffer Stalsberg Their brain looks the exact same and those people act the exact same so from a pathologically view. they are the exact same with the name 'antisocial personality disorder' (APD) tl;dr: that's one fo the pop definitions. There is no actual defined difference. Brains are wired the same (yet differently from 'normal' brains), no matter if APD caused by emotional abuse or if APD is in the brain Long version: from all the things I hear about psychopaths, the 'you are a psychopath and you're made a sociopath' is one of the most common 'pop explanation'. Other things I've heard are 'psychopaths are the violent type' or 'psychopaths are more chaotic while sociopaths plan a lot better' and 'sociopaths try to fit in while psychopath's don't' or the exact opposite. But going back to your explanation: even if that was the definition of a sociopath, they would still look the same in the brain as a psychopath and they can't become normal anymore. The part of the frontal cortex they were talking about in the video is underdevelopped and basically non-existant until late puberty (ever noticed how teenagers only think about themselves and see themselves as the most important thing in the universe? You can follow the entire list and you'll notice that most teenagers could be classified as psychopaths, but just eventually grow out of it. The only thing they usually DO have is empathy) . Anything up until then will have a huge impact on how the frontal cortex will shape after puberty and a 'birth defect' can actually get hardwired into the brain with emotional abuse. It's beneficial to sociopaths to make as little connections as possible so the abuse won't get to them as much and they can be happier. The problem, actually, is that this clashes directly with all different 'differences' I've listed before: Psychopath's are more chaotic, are trying less to fit in and are more violent. The first two would apply to the sociopath since they are 'alone in the world'. They've never learned how to behave in the world while the psycho from birth will have been taught by the parents (who he got the disease from). The last part is the exact opposite: the sociopath would be more violent BECAUSE of his history: he's raised with abuse and he thinks that's normal. It has nothing to do with the antisocial personality disorder. Also, an abusive childhood can give you any (or any combination of) personality disorder(s), even though cluster B is the most common result (APD, Borderline, Historinic, Narcissism)
My uncle is actually a diagnosed soziopath. He didn’t self diagnosed or anything he was send to a psychologist after running a guy over with a car. The guy is still alive by the way.
This is not totally how real psychopaths act; the facts are correct, but the acting was more of a dramatization to give the viewer a better idea of the topic and to help them remember.
Fishtank Productions Yes, I think that the video has clearly an informative and maybe an entertaining character. They also disproved common stereotypes. It was made to be understood by the majority not by the experts. Moreover they said that a psychopath can only be diagnosed by a psychiatrist. So I don't think there's a problem with that
He definitely has the Narcissistic personality disorder, and psychopathy is often linked with narcissism. And his four years of presidency, he definitely seems to be both.
Everything wrong with this video, (I'm not here to hate, these guys did a great job but they sent some false information in this video) 1. 0:58 Psychopaths do have an enormous sense of self-worth but it is, as I said, so astronomical, they don't need people around them to acknowledge them or necessarily bow to them. They see themselves by default as superior. 2. 1:07 They lack feelings like guilt, remorse and empathy but they fake it, and trust me, they've been faking it for years, they know what they're doing. 3. 1:15 There's no such thing as poor control when talking about psychopaths, that's a trait linked to sociopaths. Psychopaths are cold, manipulative and determined to get what they want, no matter the price because their reward system creates 4x the average amount of dopamine when such goals are achieved. 4. 2:34 Psychopaths know perfectly what the rules are and what is the right thing to do. If it's in their best interest, they will follow the "right" path but if it just slows them down, they won't give a damn. They do those things to blend in and not be categorized as a psychopath because it might hinder they goal achieving. 5: 3:05 Psychopaths have more ability to scan a person's current state and emotions than any of neurotypical people. They have been studying human behavior for as long as they could think for themselves and still do everyday. Why? Because that way they can spot easy preys like low self esteem people, easily scared people, depressed people, and the list goes on. They are the master at their game which is why none of us can really know who is truly a psychopath. And lastly, the last thing psychopaths want is to be exposed as such because it's a weakness people can blackmail them with. So the simple fact that you're all diagnosing yourself in the comments shows how neurotypical you all are. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME when did being crazy become cool?
I was disappointed because I thought ASAPscience actually had legit sources from which they took their information before spreading it. Psychopathy is the most stereotyped mental illness and they are only reinforcing those myths to live on. I know they didn't mean harm so I corrected their wrong statements :')
Crazy became cool when the American people (Teens specifically) realized that even with all of the ways they could, they could not become different or individual. So, these people who thought to themselves that the only way to be truly diverse would have to come from a trait nobody could mimic like a disorder such as. I like to think of this new trend as an increasing mental Munchausen's syndrome. The hilarious part of this is that even though they diagnose themselves it still changes nothing because they have yet to adopt the actual symptoms of the illness. Sadly, this illness is also branded upon people who don't even want the title anyway, such as I. My peers have been unceasing in determination to label me as a freak or psycho because I am undisturbed by "crimes" like infanticide or cannibalism. It isn't fun to be shunned as a freak then to see others claim to be one and be applauded.
An interesting aside, it seems that left handed people have a higher chance of being schizophrenic. While only 10% of the human population is left handed, 40% of schizophrenics are left handed. This doesn't seem to be the case for psychopaths though. But as i said, it's just an aside.
Maia Mcdonald Yeah the other 60% would be right handed. However, 90% of the population is right handed and 10% is left handed. If there wasn't some kind of connection to being left handed, the % would be the same for schizophrenics. 90% right and 10% left.
Some psychologists believe that the difference is that psychopaths are more manipulative and lack remorse or empty for others when harming them in one way or another. Meanwhile, sociopaths lack the feeling of emotion in general but they often try to display the proper emotion they believe will fit the social situation. So sociopaths can be all around you without your knowing.
I believe sociopaths are aware of their 'psychopathic' traits (for example, sociopaths are aware of being manipulative whereas psychopaths are not aware), therefore they put effort into disguising themselves to seem normal.
generally, sociopaths are the ones that break the rules just for the sake of doing it, not necessarily for a reward. they're the people you see a lot in criminal movies
RepDuval you don't see many women commenting that their ex is a psychopath, but the opposite is very true, huh? so what can we extrapolate from this, class?
When you started describing this i was like, "damn I'm a physchopath what??" but I have charm (not superficial) and though I have a high sense of self worth, I'm extremely humble. I do lack some remorse, but my guilt is horrible unless I think someone deserved it. Though I don't have the best control over my actions, I know when I did something wrong and (usually) what to do to fix it. Most of my actions are for goals, more for reputation than anything. Though I do have a hard time learning from punishments (AKA if I do something I find okay, and then face the consequences, I get a little resentment for whoever enforced the consequences on me). Though (sometimes) I look back and think "wow I really learnt from that" and think of how stupid I once was. I do have empathy, (because if my friend is upset, I'm going to get upset too and do my best to help them). I doubt I'm a psycho, but I thought I'd share that
all these people self-diagnosing oh, your stupidity entertains. A) Psychopaths carry more than the 5 top clichés of their disorder. B) (take time to absorb this one through your thick skulls) EVERYONE CARRIES AT LEAST ONE PSYCHOPATHIC TRAIT. C) A true psychopath is completely oblivious to the fact they are a one. D) Only a psychiatrist can diagnose someone with a disorder. E) You only think you have psychopathic traits because you want to, so your mind plays a game on itself were it plays a role it's given. And F), No matter how "cool" or "edgy" you think it is to have a mental illness it's not, people with mental illness actually suffer from it. Whether they realize they're suffering or not.
I'm actually going to see someone about that. I was completely oblivious to the PCL-R until I started researching ASPD. I do have the majority of the symptoms and suspecting sociopathy due to my childhood abuse. That would explain the compartmentalizing of my stunted emotions, and inability to empathize w/ people(although I recognize other's emotions cognitively quite well). Persisted from when I was a kid up into my adult life. Not a fun way to live.
Fuck you I have 20 pages of medical and psychological tests saying that I have ASPD characterized by persistent antisocial behaviour, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, egoistical traits and I am very aware of it and what it means cause I fucking had to sit in front of a douch mdf asking stupid questions and writing down the fucking answers and Im fucking tired of people like you saying this bullshit, if they want to believe they are whatever the fuck they wanna be, let them be then. It is not ur fucking problem.
I lack remorse towards others, tried to force myself to cry when my grandpa died since i didn't wanna be disrespectful, i often overreact (like slamming my hand down, yelling random stuff and doing awkward stuff without feeling awkward myself) I have a hard time learning from it if i get punished like in the cardgame... If i have food and people ask for some and talk to me i think that i am only noticed by my food, and tomorrow they will ask if i have more and leave if not.. Idk man, i have a weird perception of stuff... am i a psychopath?
***** Sounds logical, and yea, it was both with the grandfather thing x3 and my best friends guinea pig just died but idk how to comfort her :7 and btw Kaden Lancaster Yes i do, but i hold it in by imagining myself torturing that person in the most brutal way and i recently got so mad at something my mom did that i stabbed the bathroom door with a scissor cuz she locked herself in there since i tried to get her phone...
Lærke Østbygaard I would say that is more of a chemical imbalance. Or at least that is how it sounds to me. Also what do you consider brutal torture? Also would you be able to actually do that to someone?
Kaden Lancaster I consider brutal torture peeling off their skin, cracking open someones skull and smearing their organs out on the floor in a creepy looking basement that i usually mindtorture people in. I like gore, so its quite gory, more than i describe here. And if i was able to do that... i probably wouldnt just that way, but if i knew that i with no consequenses at all could do it.... i dont see why not. I'm a hardcore otaku too just so u kno. I am very superstitious and I believe in almost everything supernatural, have even had a paranormal experience of my own. I feel like im pouring unimportant information out.... welp.
every single quiz I've taken had told me I'm a psychopath. I'm known in my class as queen of narcissism. I have had to go to counseling for anger management control. I almost never cry over anything but physical pain. I am sure I am a psychopath, and it frustrates me to no end when some one throws around the word to describe themselves when they're not.
When I entered therapy for anxiety and depression the psychologist I spoke to for no longer than ten minutes told me I was Psychopathic. I still to this day don't know if I fully agree with her. The only trait I identify with is the lack of empathy. I know how to fake empathy and make it seem as if I care because I think it is better for my social life. Who wants an unfeeling, cold person as a friend? So to keep people I learned to act emphatic. I guess that is a form of manipulation, but lying to maintain peace isn't something exclusive to psychopaths.
Sometimes I really think I could be a psychopath. Some of these traits hit me straight on, but others couldn't be more incorrect. I'm rather arrogant and I tend to be better than everybody else at everything I do. But some other traits don't make any sense. For example, I feel I have more than the normal amount of empathy. I have to control the amount of friends I have or I'll stress myself out trying to help them all. But yah... Manipulative... That's practically my middle name. I want to say I'm not proud of it, but actually, I think it's great. It's so easy to get in to people's minds.
Snafu You could say I'm pretentious, and I won't entirely deny it, but nothing I said is untrue either. People just don't like to hear the truth if it makes them feel insecure about themselves. It's ironic that people claim they want you to be honest and speak your mind and be yourself, but the reality is that people don't like change and fear it, and anything that's considered different. I don't personally feel there's anything wrong with being proud of what I am good at.
they can recognize fear or other emotions( and use this to their advantage) they just don't care and can't care. they are master manipulators and great at mirroring emotions and mimicing empathy so this could trick their chosen targets. Also, they blend in with others very well likely you have met many psychopaths already and you don't know it
My mom and I have never been able to understand why my older is the way he is. He's been diagnosed with ADHD when he was 12, but refused to take them and sold them at school. He had to be sent to a special boy's ranch for school. Easily charms anyone, seems generally a good person, but acts in awful ways in order to get what he wants. My mom payed for him to go to college twics, he dropped out. He was gifted in intelligence, but struggled in school. And never abides by the rules. After crashing my mother's car, he just grinned, and my mom cut him off financially because he was an adult. He then blackmailed my mom. During the entire blackmailing and car crashing my father was dying from Lou Gerig's disease and I was 6-8. I could go on and on because there is much more. And he is still the same way. He is kind to me and loves me because I'm his sister, I hope so. But I can never trust him. My mom loves him so much, but doesn't talk to him because he will keep doing the same things. In his entire life, he has never said sorry and meant it. I truly think he may be a psychopath.
It was an example. What if your parents and your girlfriend died and your "friend" goes like "Meh, who gives a fuck"? Is there nothing wrong with that?
Neo Galactic well you don't need to cry about his rabbit dying. But you don't need to be rude about it, like he was in the video. Saying "eeeh, is that a bad thing?" is very rude.
I wouldn't consider myself a psychopath, but I do carry many of these traits. 1) Idk how to describe it but... 2) I do keep a lot of my friends around like that... 3) I don't like being seen as normal as much as the best. 4) I act sad about things and I know it's bad but I don't feel actual sadness or guilt even when I'm the fault. 4) I hate being wrong. 5) I want to be at the top of everything, not 2nd, I have to be first. 6) I've...screwed up in school a lot, and oh God, there were serious consequences but I always kept doing it even though I knew I'd get caught. 7) Am I a psychopath? I'm not sure. I'm in advanced classes and really smart but I honestly lack judgement and sometimes common sense. I know what's right and wrong but when it comes to actions, I just do the opposite.
You had me up till not understanding things are punishments. I was actually getting scared. I had a therapist tell me once the main thing that meant I most definitely wasn't a sociopath was the fact I went in for therapy. But if course they didn't actually wanna talk about it with me, but instead changed the conversation to depression.
I read somewhere on the internet that people abused by parents as a child were more likely to become psychopaths and they also still wet their bed even as an older kid
My best friend is a psychopath. One day in class, he found a one of my friends annoying so he just walked up to him and stabbed him in the leg with a pencil, then he just walked away like nothing happend.
That's not psychopathic it's more like everyone has different ways of dealing with things. If I were in your friend's spot I wouldn't have stabbed the guy I would've pinched him
+DefiantDeer 13th [česky] it's possible it was an accident, maybe your friend doesn't know his strength, maybe the pencil was sharp, maybe the stabbed guy's skin is actually not that tough, maybe Stabber didn't realise that the pencil got stuck. There are many variables. And if it was an purpose...people react to things differently.
the whole world but more accurately its 2-4% and thats only what can be found so seeing as the key trait of psychopathy is the mask of perfect sanity its safe to say its more 5-7%
Araanor Don't listen to them, they're guessing, I've actually studied this personality disorder. It's 1% of America, not North America, not the world, it's United States of America. Hard to believe? Well it's true so whether or not you believe it doesn't matter. Have a nice day
one of my friends shows no emotions towards his pets's deaths, a couple years ago his dog and guinea pig died and he just laughed about how his dog fell down the stairs (it was blind and deaf)
I feel that at some moments I feel like a psychopath or sociopath, like sometimes I lack emotion, but other times my emotions are overwhelming, I wish I could get a proper diagnosis.
somewhat, cunning and manipulative, charmer, have a high scense of self worth, and i live my life without regrets (don't really feel it), but i do have very good control, and able able to adapt to changes very well. i can also see others emotions decently well.
Watching your two is always incredibly entertaining and enjoyable as well as ridiculously educational. Thank you for your hard work on these amazing videos! They have me learning new and incredible scientific facts in a way that doesn't make me feel like a complete derp. 🤪 I know these particular vids are a bit older, but since I stumbled across your asapSCIENCE channel a couple of weeks ago by sheer serendipity, I have been madly in love with these channels and the two of you! 🥰 Please keep up the fabulous work and thank you for this excellent info. 😉💕💫
Highly doubt it. He has flaws, but being president surprisingly doesn't pay as well as you might think, and we all know how much he loves money. Although, power could be his main goal. If so, I guess I wouldn't be too surprised; many people in the industry of politics are psychopaths or show more psychopathic traits than most. However, psychopaths are notorious for their off-the-charts intelligence and doing their best to hide their dirty secrets, whereas Trump seems to be more for exposing the lies of corporate/brainwashed media and propaganda, and, well....he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, is he? Then again, this is all from face value. You'd really have to get to know someone to find out if they're a psychopath or not, and by then, it might be too late; you just might be caught in the web they've spun around you over time. If anything, Hillary Clinton would be more of a psychopath than Trump. Another well-known fact about psychopaths is the tendency to become downright (physically/orally) violent when extremely angry, and do you know what Hillary did when Trump won? She proceeded to scream profanities and throw projectiles like a maniac. (Though most psychopaths can cover up their tracks much better than Clinton, so I suppose we'll never know.)
Umm... No he isn't psychopathic. You can tell just by reading his body language. He may be quite assertive, but he is empathetic and feels remorse. Reading someone's body language can show you alot about that particular person. Trump is a Machiavellian though! So is Hillary.
guys, I think I might be a psychopath. I get mad some times without good reason, I think I'm better then others, I always put on a smiling face even when I'm not happy, I killed 2 people, I'm manipulative, and I can relate to that card game in a sense.
oh stfu, you're not a psychopath you want to be so you believe you are. the things listed are just clichés that have been proven not the most reliable with the recent studies on psychopathy, plus a real psychopath would be completely oblivious to the fact that they are one
Im on my way to become a Pyschopath, I fake my emotions daily, the scene at 0:44 actually made me laugh, this is what I do, and I do it really well, I actually enjoy faking being enthusiastic sometimes... But 1:03 scene... When stuff like this happens, I can tell that they are sad, and I absorb their emotion, and I can feel the sadness, but I dont care about it.. I feel as if I can take peoples emotions, and negate them into my black hole ( I call it a black hole ). Very interesting. I dont think I am 100% psycopathic though.
According to this, I'm most likely a psychopath. Thank god I'm not violent or something. And frankly, it doesn't bother me. I like it when I can persuade people, it's just useful
+Girly Nerd no. I've always had dreams when I was in high school that I wielded magics of ice and fire, and that I could fly like Peter Pan. But dreams never slap you in the face hardest in life... Reality does. So here I am... In reality.... Waiting for the day I can go back into my dreams, and render the world desolate and moribund in my image.
+Girly Nerd but honestly, I did study psychology. And no dreams don't constitute psychopathy. In fact, it seems to be counterintuitive to the condition. But I can't confirm that second point with you. If you are severely manipulative with no remorse whatsoever in toying with human lives daily, are extremely competitive and can. NEVER. LOSE.... Then maybe you are a psychopath. But until those conditions are met, nowhere near remotely a psychopath.
Okay, so, I'm not sure if I am or not, but maybe someone can (pls) help me figure this out if I list the traits i DO exhbit, but also list the ones I don't: Pro-Psychopathic Traits: 1) I'm generally cunning/ able to fit into a set of behaviors I know the person I'm meeting with would find appealing 2) I do have a high sense of self-worth 3) Literally every action I take IS in fact goal-oriented to some extent, and I do have an endgoal to obtain a successful and publicly memorable career (although even I acknowledge that is quite unlikely) Con/Not-Psychopathic Traits: 1) I can (or geesh, maybe I only THINK that I can...Oboy) understand empathy and exhibit high-emotional understanding 2) I learn from the things I've done wrong in the past, often so much so I feel really disgusted with myself 3)...or maybe that last statement is totally false and I just imitated what I THOUGHT you wanted to hear out of sheer reflex..... huh. Nevermind I may have my answer.....:)
I think I'm a bit psychopathic. My friends mom had a panic attack and nearly had to go to the hospital and I never felt a hint of sympathy. I just pretended to feel bad.
my boyfriend has psychopathy and these traits of psychopathy are very exaggerated. in most people the traits of psychopathy are very minor and hardly noticable. Kinda wish that asap would have talked about that and tried to reduce the stigma around it
(just a few days ago this happened...I'm not lying) There are two people who go to my school that I identified as psychopaths, and I was right. They weren't fans of my sister and I, even though we never did anything to them. They manipulated the school principle to kick us out...and they were unfortunately successful. They tried to sue us, they called the police on us, and they now said that I can have no interaction whatsoever with friends, or anyone else, from my school or else they'll take us to court. Not something that happens everyday. I don't know why I was ok and chill with this. It might be because I'm type B.
I can detect a psychopath better than ever. I had a friend when I was 9. She was born with a mental condition and was very manipulative, so I ended our friendship in a pretty harsh letter. She transferred schools and never wanted to see me ever again. That was the start of me being able to detect psychopaths. Not very accurate, but still.
I have a question for all of you. A guy went to his friend's mom's funeral. He saw a girl there. He was so amazed that he fell in love with the girl. 2 days after, the guy killed his brother. Why?
I've always been broken inside. I only feel guilt when it involves me, I don't care if someone's dog die. Im not a Psychopath , but something's broken. I'm not sure if I'm evil or what.
Um, well i match the "no sense of morse" one, but i know i should, and try to show empathy, but i feel nothing inside. I do match the "poor control of behavior", but might be a mental thing unrelated, idk.
You forgot compulsive lying lol. But I guess that goes hand in hand with all of what you said in the video. I'm definitely cunning and manipulative and I know that lol. I'm also not the best with grief. In the fact that I feel sad but not for a very long time. My grandma and my best friend have both died recently and I would consider myself "over it" which scares me
So, I noticed that you said that psychopaths lack a conscious or feelings of guilt and I may be wrong, but I thought that sociopaths were the ones that lacked remorse and guilt. I was just wondering if psychopaths ALSO lack this conscious or if my knowledge on this subject is wrong.
Psychopath Greg is officially one of my favorite fictional characters! XD
Don't be a psychopath
CRAFT
Justin Valderama Hahahaha! Fictional.
ThatGingerUpNorth I like you
ThatGingerUpNorth TRUE
AsapTHOUGHT do the alternative version with Mitch being the psychopath :P That'd be so nice :)
1% of the population? hmmm that means i have 24 Psychopaths at my high school
it's like 700000 people.
chances are,their rare
Nope. Not 7,000,000. It's 70,000,000 (70 million) people.
I feel like 50% of the people in my school are
24% are sociopaths
and sociopaths and psyco paths are the same thing
Everybody's diagnosing themselves now. Well done.
Ikr 😂😂
kek
Cats
S.E. Hatz I agree
I am not a Psychopath! YAY! How do I know? I am feeling remorse of my dog, he died yesterday....
I know one!!!! Dolores Umbridge
Oh I know one too me
*smiles oh-so-sweetly while wearing pink* My PE teacher looked so much like her
Hilary Clinton
Lol
+Kandy Sprinkles That's unfortunate.
so I'm not a psychopath just an asshole but I'm still ok with that
same
studies show that if you think you're a psychopath you're not a psychopath because psychopaths can never accept that they are one
Dustin Bell lol
Dustin Bell lol
Dustin Bell same
I have some psycopathic symptoms, but I wouldn't go far enough to self-diagnose myself
same..
Yeah, but you should probably go to a psychiatrist Wednesday Addams.
I think most people have one or two.
Abram in Wonderland "self-diagnose myself" is redundant.
Abram in Wonderland same
I am not charismatic but I kinda have a tendency of manipulating people who don't know the real facts of a situation. And I love Greg's acting and eyeliner! I got surprised when he slammed the spoon.
***** Glad you like the acting, although I am scared about how much fun I had being a psychopath! :/
IT'S ACE
Jade Zhang yes it's Ace. I am surprised that someone here knows that doll xD
***** yes it is! XD
***** Ace isn't a doll! He's Kris' son!

1% of the population is psychopathic but 99% here in the comments acts like they are. Had to break your dreams there and it's not necessarily something beneficial to anyone either.
Everybody ultimately shows these characteristics, it lies on a spectrum, it is NOT black and white.
why would you want to be a psychopath
Psychopaths are natural actors. You can't find them unless:
1.You've seen their true nature or...
2.You've gained their trust over the years.
I love Greg with his eyeliner and ego - so hilarious!!
Dulcet Tones. the character must come back in another video
Seth Erebos true
Could you guys possibly make a video about sociopaths?
They are pathologically the same thing
PrimaPunchy Are you sure? Cause I've heard different explanations about it, but the most recent time I got an explanation for this, they said sociopaths are normal in the brain, but they still act very badly. In other words, you're born a psychopath, but you become a sociopath. But like I said, I'm not sure, because I've heard many explanations for this.
Kristoffer Stalsberg That's the explanation I've heard as well, though I haven't had any real conformation, so you never know. Still, there isn't enough difference between sociopath and psychopaths to do two different videos about is...
Kristoffer Stalsberg
Their brain looks the exact same and those people act the exact same so from a pathologically view. they are the exact same with the name 'antisocial personality disorder' (APD)
tl;dr: that's one fo the pop definitions. There is no actual defined difference. Brains are wired the same (yet differently from 'normal' brains), no matter if APD caused by emotional abuse or if APD is in the brain
Long version:
from all the things I hear about psychopaths, the 'you are a psychopath and you're made a sociopath' is one of the most common 'pop explanation'.
PrimaPunchy Thank you sweetheart! You explained great x
My uncle is actually a diagnosed soziopath. He didn’t self diagnosed or anything he was send to a psychologist after running a guy over with a car.
The guy is still alive by the way.
It’s pronounced "sociopath" not soziopath
Greg NAILED this role!! Let's all agree Greg could be an actor!
Yup. He and Mitch are Renaissance men .
+maia n Yes they are 😃
This is not totally how real psychopaths act; the facts are correct, but the acting was more of a dramatization to give the viewer a better idea of the topic and to help them remember.
Fishtank Productions Yes, I think that the video has clearly an informative and maybe an entertaining character. They also disproved common stereotypes. It was made to be understood by the majority not by the experts. Moreover they said that a psychopath can only be diagnosed by a psychiatrist. So I don't think there's a problem with that
I'm just listening to this whole thing going: "Sooo... Donald Trump?"
XD
He definitely has the Narcissistic personality disorder, and psychopathy is often linked with narcissism. And his four years of presidency, he definitely seems to be both.
Fascinating info, Greg deserves a web oscar for that performance! :D
Janice Columbus AW THANK YOU! We will alert the authorities that they need to make this award show.
Janice Columbus sooooo very true!
Janice Columbus nope i'm sick i'm not going anywhere
Janice Columbus I agree
Janice Columbus
Aaaaaand now people are being either paranoid or "edgy" by unofficially diagnosing themselves and everyone they know. Thanks guys.
lol loads of wannabe edgy people in the comments saying they are psychos now
juss paranoid :/
Well they are just trying to teach people about some characteristics of psychopaths so shut up
Everything wrong with this video, (I'm not here to hate, these guys did a great job but they sent some false information in this video)
1. 0:58 Psychopaths do have an enormous sense of self-worth but it is, as I said, so astronomical, they don't need people around them to acknowledge them or necessarily bow to them.
Wow you spent your time writing all this
+Jakkeo92836 (no hate)
I was disappointed because I thought ASAPscience actually had legit sources from which they took their information before spreading it. Psychopathy is the most stereotyped mental illness and they are only reinforcing those myths to live on. I know they didn't mean harm so I corrected their wrong statements :')
And it's a subject I study so it didn't take much time to write this
Crazy became cool when the American people (Teens specifically) realized that even with all of the ways they could, they could not become different or individual.
Can you do a video on sociopaths and maybe how they differ from psychopaths?
i'm a highly functioning sociopath. do your research.
..
get it?
Bravo, you made me smile
YES!!
I understood that reference!
no sh*t, Sherlock ;)
Elementary my dear Watson
An interesting aside, it seems that left handed people have a higher chance of being schizophrenic. While only 10% of the human population is left handed, 40% of schizophrenics are left handed. This doesn't seem to be the case for psychopaths though. But as i said, it's just an aside.
Mr.Miles it could have something to do with the way the data is collected, or just a correlation also www.tylervigen.com/
left hands rejoice
Mr.Miles #Stargate
Wouldn't the other 60% be right handed?
Maia Mcdonald Yeah the other 60% would be right handed. However, 90% of the population is right handed and 10% is left handed. If there wasn't some kind of connection to being left handed, the % would be the same for schizophrenics. 90% right and 10% left.
Please make a video about social anxiety/social anxiety disorder. Thx
I'm definitely not a psychopath. None of these traits fit me, or anyone I know. But what's the difference between a psychopath and a sociopath?
Moonfire27 I'm not a psychopath, I'm a high-functioning sociopath. Do your research.
BluLazer hello fellow sherlockian
All these traits sound like Slytherin house in Harry Potter?😂
That explains why most evil dark wizards and witches were sorted in that house.
As a proud slitherin I want to refute you but gotta admit you are kinda right😅
Not all Slytherins are bad...
Greg isn't a psychopath, he's just so good at pretending to be one! :D
Holy shit... My dad is a psychopath
What. The. Hell.
lol the profile pic is perfect with the comment
LOL
+"Once There Was An Ugly Barnacle, He Was SO Ugly That Everyone Died, the end" -Patrick Pinhead Star where's spongebob ? at krustys?
Oh crap
i am one
Greg's acting is just hilarious XD
Hmmm,it seems that my ex-girlfriend my be a psychopath.
RepDuval ayyyy
I was just about to comment this.
RepDuval duuude, been there :D
RepDuval you don't see many women commenting that their ex is a psychopath, but the opposite is very true, huh? so what can we extrapolate from this, class?
RepDuval better be careful :
This channel is full of fun facts and information, I subscribed and gave it a share on fb. Keep up the good work.
I doubt I'm a psycho, but I thought I'd share that
lol Greg is so good at being a psychopath! He's just so funny!
all these people self-diagnosing oh, your stupidity entertains.
What about a sociopath, then?
Aram what about a sociopath? do you want to know about a sociopath what makes them different from a psychopath?
Fu** you
I lack remorse towards others, tried to force myself to cry when my grandpa died since i didn't wanna be disrespectful, i often overreact (like slamming my hand down, yelling random stuff and doing awkward stuff without feeling awkward myself) I have a hard time learning from it if i get punished like in the cardgame... If i have food and people ask for some and talk to me i think that i am only noticed by my food, and tomorrow they will ask if i have more and leave if not.. Idk man, i have a weird perception of stuff... am i a psychopath?
+Lærke Østbygaard No your not, but may i ask if you get mad easily?
***** Sounds logical, and yea, it was both with the grandfather thing x3 and my best friends guinea pig just died but idk how to comfort her :7
and btw Kaden Lancaster Yes i do, but i hold it in by imagining myself torturing that person in the most brutal way and i recently got so mad at something my mom did that i stabbed the bathroom door with a scissor cuz she locked herself in there since i tried to get her phone...
Lærke Østbygaard
I would say that is more of a chemical imbalance.
I feel like im pouring unimportant information out.... welp.

*accidentally deleted comment*
every single quiz I've taken had told me I'm a psychopath.
I kept thinking: Justin Bieber.
MultiInko yeah
I'd say both.
This video should have been called are you a donald trump
LMFAO!!!!
😂😂
you can just do it in your mind, and replace scycopath with donald trump every time they say it
Bing Bing Bong
Oh my god, I died 😂😂
Sometimes I really think I could be a psychopath. Some of these traits hit me straight on, but others couldn't be more incorrect. I'm rather arrogant and I tend to be better than everybody else at everything I do. But some other traits don't make any sense. For example, I feel I have more than the normal amount of empathy. I have to control the amount of friends I have or I'll stress myself out trying to help them all. But yah... Manipulative... That's practically my middle name. I want to say I'm not proud of it, but actually, I think it's great. It's so easy to get in to people's minds.
As long as you don't kill anybody it's fine with me XD
The very fact that you can write this about yourself means you're prob not a psychopath.
🎵allfodatmusic🎵 nah. I don't like hurting others. I'm just really smart.
Andrew Cooper As a tool, I ask that you rethink the whole "yah... Manipulative" train of thought.
Please?
Seriously, please?
1:15 I was drinking water at that point, and the vid made me laugh so now i have water on my pants and shirt :(
+Fullmetal Kirby7 I know what you mean.
Everyone claiming to be psychopathic, trust me, you're not.
I don't see anything wrong with lacking immediate emotion, who cares if a rabbit died, it's a rabbit.
A rabbit died? OMG...
When's the funeral?
It was an example. What if your parents and your girlfriend died and your "friend" goes like "Meh, who gives a fuck"? Is there nothing wrong with that?
Oh gawd, Youre a psychopath lol
Neo Galactic well you don't need to cry about his rabbit dying. But you don't need to be rude about it, like he was in the video. Saying "eeeh, is that a bad thing?" is very rude.
Kevin Uchiha I think the thing is a psychopath wouldn't even realize it was rude
1:13 "So how are the Silver Leagues in CSGO?" "Its a little bit salty"
1:18 "DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD I WORKED ON THIS?" 😂😂😂😂 I'm dying!
She's an American Beauty
I'm an American Psycho
FALL OUT BOY😄😄
I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high functioning sociopath.
Oh my....Donald Trump
1:17 that scared me!!
Sky Trees same
Hey! Why only psychiatrists? Why show no love for us psychologists? :'(
The Nik of Time hey fellow psychologist nice to see that I‘m not the only person on the internet with that job. 😂
does it count when i become all dark and scary when i open new cereal boxes? is that weird..?
that is weird, weirdo
nope!
Nope
Nope. You're not a psychopath. You're just weird.
this made me smile;never change:)
So cool that you guys cover psychological topics and psychopathology :)
I read somewhere on the internet that people abused by parents as a child were more likely to become psychopaths and they also still wet their bed even as an older kid
psychopaths are made by nature, sociopaths are made by nurture. Don't confuse the two. One is more dangerous than the other
"are you a psychopath?" more like "are you a slytherin"
SNAPE DID NOTHING WRONG!
#SLYTHERINBOI
"Silly peasants" hahahahah
My best friend is a psychopath. One day in class, he found a one of my friends annoying so he just walked up to him and stabbed him in the leg with a pencil, then he just walked away like nothing happend.
I think anyone pushed far enough would do that.
That's not psychopathic it's more like everyone has different ways of dealing with things. If I were in your friend's spot I wouldn't have stabbed the guy I would've pinched him
Jasmine Locke The problem is that the pencil was literally sticking out of his leg
Jasmine Locke I am sure it was on purpose, he is pretty sadistic
I feel guilty for EVERYTHING!
I already knew I was a psychopath, I just wanted to check that these guys knew what they were talking about. And they were right. Good job.
Are You a Psychopath? I wonder how that'd go down as a conversation starter?
1% of the north american population, or the world ?
Araanor Probably the world
They mean the world since he said THE population, referring to a specific population :)
Holy sword Excalibur cool thanks :)
the whole world but more accurately its 2-4% and thats only what can be found so seeing as the key trait of psychopathy is the mask of perfect sanity its safe to say its more 5-7%
Araanor Don't listen to them, they're guessing, I've actually studied this personality disorder. It's 1% of America, not North America, not the world, it's United States of America. Hard to believe? Well it's true so whether or not you believe it doesn't matter.
Have a nice day
Wait... I'm beginning to think I'm a psychopath...
same
same
I'm beginning to feel like a rap god, rap god
cringey 12 year olds in the comments *sigh*
I'm 13
one of my friends shows no emotions towards his pets's deaths, a couple years ago his dog and guinea pig died and he just laughed about how his dog fell down the stairs (it was blind and deaf)
I feel that at some moments I feel like a psychopath or sociopath, like sometimes I lack emotion, but other times my emotions are overwhelming, I wish I could get a proper diagnosis.
I love how more people in the comments are complaining about the 'special snowflakes' then the ACTUAL 'special snowflakes'
Guys, The physcopaths are just playing Pokemon go
I'm pretty sure I have Psychopathic tendencies
somewhat, cunning and manipulative, charmer, have a high scense of self worth, and i live my life without regrets (don't really feel it), but i do have very good control, and able able to adapt to changes very well. i can also see others emotions decently well.
Yes! T-shirt definitely helped with the book I'm writing! Thank you!
Yikes... I display a few of these traits but not a lot of them...
Navroze Antia HALP
Well at least you will make a good CEO!
😅
Navroze Antia SHHHHHHHHH AM I A PSYCHOPATH???
Why are u scared to be a psychopath? I'm slightly a psychopath but I'm not terrified.
SnowyDragon Hunter, you're not terrified because others are!
I think I may know a few.... 😱
Me too 😖
I am a high classifying sociopath
I have done a whole research paper on psychopathy. Pretty solid ish in this video.
So is Donald Trump physicopathic ???????
yes. yes he is.
Christina Ward YES HE IS
Umm... No he isn't psychopathic. You can tell just by reading his body language. He may be quite assertive, but he is empathetic and feels remorse.
Reading someone's body language can show you alot about that particular person.
Trump is a Machiavellian though! So is Hillary.
Christina Ward
Hell no. Obama is more likely to be psychopathic. He is very likeable and charming unlike the Don
guys, I think I might be a psychopath. I get mad some times without good reason, I think I'm better then others, I always put on a smiling face even when I'm not happy, I killed 2 people, I'm manipulative, and I can relate to that card game in a sense.
Wait wat
+Rachel Bangasan xD Why did that make me laugh so hard!!
So... Youre in jail?
Oh dear, I made milk come out my nose!
Michelle Alzo why am I laughing 😂
I always knew I was a psychopath, this just confirmed it.
+Arianna Majid same
No, it didnt. Your brain as attempting to conform to what was said in the video, because for whatever reason, you want to be crazy.
+Cink Sojen the more you know
oh stfu, you're not a psychopath you want to be so you believe you are. the things listed are just clichés that have been proven not the most reliable with the recent studies on psychopathy, plus a real psychopath would be completely oblivious to the fact that they are one
Honey_Misery Angel Whoa there, chill. No need for vulgar language.
I'm not a psycho. But, I never really cry or get sad at the right situations. Like hearing someone pasted away in the family or funerals
Maybe you're just manipulative
+Kevin “The Authority” Tan I've always had a dream to be able to trick people or manipulate them. ( not hurt them or anything ) Am I a psychopath?
Aaand Cue the endless comments from girls saying they're psychopaths in order to get attention.
+Blue Diesel My thoughts exactly xd
XD
+Blue Diesel Correction: "edgy" kids that want to look tough.
Okay, so, I'm not sure if I am or not, but maybe someone can (pls) help me figure this out if I list the traits i DO exhbit, but also list the ones I don't:
Pro-Psychopathic Traits:
1) I'm generally cunning/ able to fit into a set of behaviors I know the person I'm meeting with would find appealing
2) I do have a high sense of self-worth
3) Literally every action I take IS in fact goal-oriented to some extent, and I do have an endgoal to obtain a successful and publicly memorable career (although even I acknowledge that is quite unlikely)
Con/Not-Psychopathic Traits:
1) I can (or geesh, maybe I only THINK that I can...Oboy) understand empathy and exhibit high-emotional understanding
2) I learn from the things I've done wrong in the past, often so much so I feel really disgusted with myself
3)...or maybe that last statement is totally false and I just imitated what I THOUGHT you wanted to hear out of sheer reflex.....
huh. Nevermind I may have my answer.....:)
Nick Walker the fact that you care about this shows you‘re not a psychopath.
I showed a few (maybe half or less) of these, might want to check with my psychiatrist about that.
I think I'm a bit psychopathic. My friends mom had a panic attack and nearly had to go to the hospital and I never felt a hint of sympathy. I just pretended to feel bad.
it actually makes me quite sad as I have known 2 psychopaths...
my boyfriend has psychopathy and these traits of psychopathy are very exaggerated. in most people the traits of psychopathy are very minor and hardly noticable.
+Taco ButterSane I seriously doubt that they'd take my advice for getting checked out.
Can you do a video on why people will suddenly think they have a certain disease/illness/condition/etc when watching a video about it?
I can detect a psychopath better than ever. I had a friend when I was 9. She was born with a mental condition and was very manipulative, so I ended our friendship in a pretty harsh letter. She transferred schools and never wanted to see me ever again. That was the start of me being able to detect psychopaths. Not very accurate, but still.
Yes! Next question!
I have a question for all of you. A guy went to his friend's mom's funeral. He saw a girl there. He was so amazed that he fell in love with the girl. 2 days after, the guy killed his brother. Why?
Lol he wanted to see the girl again. He hoped to. I saw one like this but the gender is switched around
0:12 "They could be walking among us"
I've always been broken inside. I only feel guilt when it involves me, I don't care if someone's dog die. Im not a
Psychopath , but something's broken. I'm not sure if I'm evil or what.
Um, well i match the "no sense of morse" one, but i know i should, and try to show empathy, but i feel nothing inside. I do match the "poor control of behavior", but might be a mental thing unrelated, idk.
I'm definitely not a psycho path.
Definetly.
You forgot compulsive lying lol. But I guess that goes hand in hand with all of what you said in the video. I'm definitely cunning and manipulative and I know that lol. I'm also not the best with grief. In the fact that I feel sad but not for a very long time. My grandma and my best friend have both died recently and I would consider myself "over it" which scares me
Greg’s face in the thumbnail is amazing
Mitch is my favorite person EVER!
