If my husband wants to explain the details about how he changed the oil in our car or he starts to explain anything techy to me, I threated him with a long monolog about the details of crochet stitches and patterns. Our marriage has lasted because we know not to tell each other too many details.

I can happily talk about crochet - with other crocheters - but I only dive into the subjects I know other peole don;t care about if I'm trying to be a bad conversationalist. I'm fully capable of monologuing, if I have to, but try to read the room better than that.
