Okay, soooo... I was an Soldier in the US Army myself. 10 years, Cavalry Scout (19 Detail Hooah!!!) and I'm legit trying to figure out what all was faked on this. Do you have the undoctored footage Sky News Australia? Please, for clarity's sake, please specify exactly what parts are faked? I ask, because, it sure LOOKS like he may have fired at least 3 more after the Warning Shot, but not 7 shots total. 7 alledged shots total; No. 1 Warning Shot, 2-6 supposed additional shots. The bolt carrier very visually clearly cycles on alledged shots 1, 2, 3, and 5, and the weapon system jolts in time with the cycling of the Bolt Carrier Group. On Shot 1, the Warning Shot, the Dust Cover is VERY clearly popping open, and I can see the bolt carrier sliding forward back into battery, and he does not deny the Warning Shot, supposedly, even though he says "we" (one assumes he means his unit) were not there when the event alledgedly took place, so that shot very clearly occurred it would seem to me. But then I have to wonder WHO is pulling the trigger, if he wasn't the on the film or in that bird. On Shot 4, it is hard to tell, but it seems maybe possible it cycled, but it is hard to tell. The question that nobody seems to be asking is who was responsible for the leaking to the ABC of the initial stories of alleged misconduct by ADF personnel in Afghanistan? Those “leaks” that comprised operational knowledge from a variety of deployments and units had to have come from someone highly placed within the command structure of the Defence Force. The question that then has to be asked is why was there no initial internal review or proceedings within the Defence Force undertaken rather than an outsourcing of the process of investigation to journalists? If you have served in the ADF and understand the ongoing tension and conflict between combat tested personnel and the untested careerist “leaders” who institute procedures and protocols limiting our combat effectiveness and endangering our diggers lives you know the answer to those questions. The editor of the footage and the reporter who had obvious dishonest intentions towards Heston, refusing to apologise meant he must've known the footage was faked, both should facee criminal charges. On ABC footage you hear edited gunfire but no cartridge release from side of weapon. Disgraceful journalism, naturally if you're innocent you would apologise profusely once it was discovered.

The question that nobody seems to be asking is who was responsible for the leaking to the ABC of the initial stories of alleged misconduct by ADF personnel in Afghanistan?
Those “leaks” that comprised operational knowledge from a variety of deployments and units had to have come from someone highly placed within the command structure of the Defence Force.
The question that then has to be asked is why was there no initial internal review or proceedings within the Defence Force undertaken rather than an outsourcing of the process of investigation to journalists?
If you have served in the ADF and understand the ongoing tension and conflict between combat tested personnel and the untested careerist “leaders” who institute procedures and protocols limiting our combat effectiveness and endangering our diggers lives you know the answer to those questions.
For those that don’t and want to know the answer, look to who mysteriously kept their service medals after the recent stripping of those medal from the units that served in that theatre.

I don't live there, but in the USA. This must be going on all over the world with no consequences for bad journalism....if you want to call it that. The fact that they won't apologize after proving the video was manipulated is astonishing.
