This was hilarious. from the slapstick to the dialogue, which made our youngsters sound like they were thirty years old.
Always seen this DVD, in dollar stores. Never bought it, and never seen it, 'till now. NOT BAD 😊!!! I always knew there was a resemblance to "THE LITTLE RASCALS", and now I see why. The judge in this, ain't credited. He's actually a great character actor, and has been in many films!!
Love these old movies where a bunch of "little rascals" type kids solve a mystery! FUN to watch! Thanks for posting it!

Watched it a long time ago with my mama loved it
Any resemblance between this movie and Our Gang/The Little Rascals is fully intentional, as producer Hal Roach went into the kid pix business one last time with this film, employing Robert F. McGowan, the director of the Gang's best shorts, as scriptwriter, along with Stymie's little brother Rene as one of the actors. Does this re-imagined version of the Rascals hold up? We shall see!

Cute movie. The kids mistaking a monkey for one of their black friends was kinda questionable 😳 but a fun movie nonetheless.
Not only that, the black kids names were dis and dat and they had there eyes glowing in the dark too.

This movie couldn't be shown to a modern PC audience here in 2022. The complaints from black parents would have this movie banned.Some of the old waner Brothers cartoons r banned for racist portrayals of blacks .
@@georgecramer5276 Yes. They should be preserved as a matter of vintage cartoon art as well as documenting the blatant historical racism, but the racism shouldn't be presented to children in cartoon form, or in any form, except as a learning tool to show the evil side of bigotry.
I remember when I was a kid back in the 60s, every time I was watching an old movie from the 30s and 40s if one of those old stepping fetched scenes came on, he would make us turn it off with a lecture about subliminal brain washing of a black child mind.
First time seeing this movie. Enjoyed it a lot.

The Curley movies have funny scenes but also a lot of idleness. In them, the characters are not really introduced; they are forgettable. Everyone knows Spanky, Alfalfa, Porky, and Darla because they have personalities. It is not enough to have children be chased by a fake gorilla. What a pity, Hal Roach could do it better.
