That last chord, absolutely ringing and perfect.
Having listened and watched this quite a few times now, I would love to hear the bass part separately. It almost seems as if the bass part is the only part that's not syncopated, and moves forward against all of the other parts. The strings are doing something similar to the counter tenors. Sometimes the baritones and tenor seem to be lock step. Other times, the lower baritone seems to be singing in sync with the bass, perhaps even singing the bass part. I can't quite tell whether the lower baritone, when singing in sync with one part or another, is singing the same notes, or are are at thirds; perhaps in some places they are in harmony, and others singing the same note. The baritone part(s) is (are) so rich. I love the dynamics of this, as well. Certain parts swell, others get softer, yet the overall volume is quite similar during the ensemble passages. In any case, my guess is that each of these parts, except the bass, could be sung alone, and not sound like harmonies.
The baritone with the solo-- soso fun and funny, both. Bouncing on the balls of his feet, with the biggest, widest grin. It's wonderful, just the very, very best thing, to see someone doing something that makes him so happy, because the joy radiates out of him.
I think this is my favorite King's Singers video, other than the Estonian piece that's just been added, and Masterpiece. William Tell, and In the Early Morning are pretty wonderful as well.

The KS are at their best when they perform Renaissance and Baroque composers such as Byrd, Purcell, and Tallis. I do not know if they’ve recorded Dowland or Blow yet, but there are two treasure troves there. And why stick to English-only pieces? The KS’s voices would be perfect for singing choral pieces by Lully, Monteverdi, Palestrina, and Vivaldi as well. I know *I* would be the first to buy a CD of the KS performing Monteverdi’s masses and madrigals!

So beautiful and - what's the word - limpid? With different instrumentation and an instrumental melody line it could almost be the magnificent seven or something!

This particular piece is a gross example of Renaissance Christian misogyny. It would be better forgotten.
