I have made peanut butter with this machine using the smoothie bowl container and followed their recipe and it made excellent peanut butter. I do use the blender to knead bread and also slice veggies. I do like the fact that the container’s plastic does not absorb odors so if I’m shredding veggies, even onions, all I have to do is rinse the container out and it doesn’t retain odors.

I was gifted the Ninja Professional for Christmas but had been watching the Ultimate. Great review! I'm gonna return and invest a little more money on this machine. The overall design is great too.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Joe!!!! You helped me make up my mind about what to buy!!!! With this one, I won't need to get a separate blender AND a food processor!!!! You ARE awesome.

Thanks for this review! I was sold on getting a vitamix but now that I've seen your reviews. You've saved me alot of money because now ill be purchasing the Ninja. Thanks alot this was very helpful👍
Thanks .. I'm making sauerkraut tomorrow and haven't used my Foodi yet.. I can imagine I'll be using it a lot more after watching your video.. I guess my research paid off in buying a good product
Very informative and helped me decide between the Ninja Professional & Foodi Ultimate. I am downsizing and love the idea of potentially replacing my stand mixer, blender, mini chopper/processor, and maybe even my coffee grinder into an all-in-one system that will take up a lot less space in my new smaller kitchen. Also loved your sound effects, lol!
Thanks, Angela! I'd probably keep that stand mixer, though... It's a lot more convenient for baking and such, IMO, even though I did do a pizza from scratch with nothing but the Ultimate System.
Ninja blenders are hard to resist buying bcuz they look so impressive and high end. But I gave them up for a Vitamix with no regrets. I have one Ninja blender left, the one that only works with cups. I love that one for very small mixing jobs and how cool it looks on the countertop.
Definitely they have the aesthetics for sure. Lots of functions for the price, too. The nicer Vitamix blenders can withstand a nuclear bomb though, I think.. And they have the best warranties I've ever seen for a small kitchen appliance! Definitely plenty to love, there.
This was a really good review! I just bought the foodie, and just started using it today. So far I’ve only made a smoothie, but I’m looking forward to using the other attachments as well. Thanks for the review.
Cool! I think you're gonna like it. It's worked really well for everything we've done with it so far... We even have a pepperoni pizza video on the channel here where we did the entire thing from scratch with just this and a rolling pin. Came out pretty great, too... And thanks for the sub! Appreciate ya!
thank you for sharing ,this is really helpful for me to know, this really worth it, and replace all other big machines like dough one. ps. thank you for the music on the back that was smooth and not to loud compare to other videos we can hardly hear what the person is talking .
Thanks, Mina! I had those same problems at first... Takes a little while to learn what levels everything needs to be at... It sounds different when you edit than it does on RUclips, so definitely some getting used to!
I saw that! It's a great price over there, too. I thought about picking an extra one up from there to use as a gift when Christmas comes up... It's such a long ways off though. Haha
I just got this as a gift. I haven’t tried it yet. Mine is a dark gray instead of silver. It came with an extra large smoothie bowl maker and nutrient extractor nutrient extractor cup a dome mixer and it also says it’s 1600 peak watts so I’m thinking it’s the same blender but in a different color.
Thank you for your review! I am looking at buying a new one of these in the coming days. I might have missed it, but are the cups/pitcher glass or plastic? This will help me make my decision!
No problem. They are plastic. In fact, I don't think any of the big brands use glass at all. The answer I got online was that it had something to do with drop safety, but I'm not really conviced that it isn't more due to cost.
Hi Joe, great video, thanks for taking the time to review this Ninja system. I will use your affiliate link to buy it; however, I have one concern. Amazon complaints include the loud noise this system makes and I notice that no review videos actually have the volume of the machine playing while blending (something that would be helpful to include). Can you comment on how loud this blender is when in use? thanks
Hey, David! Thanks for checking out the video! The Ninja blenders are by no means quiet, but that really a byproduct of a powerful motor. The vitamix stuff is probably about 15% louder than theses are, but in any case, I've never felt like it was obscene or anything. A lot of those complaints come from people that are coming from lower power machines... to put it in perspective, it's a little louder than you average vacuum cleaner. The problem with putting the noise lvl in the video (at least what I've experienced) is that the volume difference between that and my voice is big enough to where when I edit, it pushed my voice volume way down, so i have to raise it back up, and then it causes audio clipping... so i have to hard limit the decibels to compensate, and they makes it sound less loud vs. my voice.... that and different peoples listening preferences and setups change how it sounds.... However to put in in perspective, the average blender makes about 80db, while Ninja's top out around 88 to 90 db.... 90 decibels is about what you get from a hair dryer. Hope that helps!
Oh me too! If you are using the processing lid, you can pull out the pusher, and you can pour right in there without removing the lid or turning off the machine. If you are using the regular lid, you can always open the spout and pour it in there.
I just got mine today at Target and found it on Walmart for 199. Then used a target discount only paying 195. Because the coupon cover 100% of the taxes and change left over to toward the price
We are still using the one in this video, and we use most of the functions on it. Been pretty happy with it. The food processing discs could be a tiny bit larger, but it's not really an issue at all.
I think it is.... We had that other set in house before.... It's nice too, but I didn't see any point to the smaller processing pitcher.... Without the ability to use discs or even have a chute on top, that smaller pitcher ended up just sitting on a shelf, and I basically just had a Blender and single serve cup. I like the ultimate quite a bit.
I tried that... The pitcher will work, but the disc spinning is a new function that isn't on the old base, so it won't make the processing discs go. I was bummed out. Haha
@@JoesPhenomenal but what about the base, I read many reviews about how it is stop working after one year and other reviews about the bottom of the base come off ?
@@AhmedAhmed-z4e6h I've seen those. Can't really comment on it too much. I haven't had anything like that happen. Ours still looks and feels new, and I use it several times a week. The bottom of the base could possibly be something like people trying to pull it up from the sides and maybe the suction cups on the bottom holding it down or something like that. When I lift it, I've always curled my fingers around the bottom of it, so it wouldn't have all that pressure on the bottom. That might be the difference.
@@JoesPhenomenal oh that’s great 😃 I want to ask too, does it chop green leaves like parsley very fine ,without extracting the water from the leaves, to make salad ?
It does extract quite a bit of the water due to the fact that the blade tree is so sharp. It doesn't really pulverize stuff like a lot of other blenders do.
Costco is not the same model number as your review...it looked the same but the power of the motor was different....you have to read all the fine print
@@blacina9036 It should be the same power ratings... some stores advertise the peak power and some advertise the sustained power though... which is confusing. The costco model has a different model number for sure, but that's par for the course with just about everything at costco.. They get special bundles whether it be extra stuff in the box, or different colors, or whatever. If I remember correctly, the Costco version has the same power numbers, the same bundle, and the same sizes for the single serve and smoothie bowl cups, but I think the base is a different color? WHen they were carrying the power blender bundle before, they included a larger smoothie bowl cup than the standard one. In any case, I always liked getting stuff over there if for anything else, they have a crazy good return policy if anything weird happens. That price they have it for right now is AMAZING.
The almond flour, yes no problem. on the onion slices, it depends on the shape you want to get out of them, and the orientation you put it in there at since it's all layers. For onions, I've always just hand sliced them unless I wanted something like a julienne slice or something.
Heya Dave. On this machine, the discs allow you to slice, shred, and grate. To chop, you can use the single serve cup or the pitcher and just do a couple of quick pulses.... Not so much on dicing and mincing though. For the dice, mince, and chop, I just do that manually with my chef knife. It just comes out a lot cleaner that way, anyways for me.
@@JoesPhenomenal Thank you for getting back to me Joe. Just a few more questions about this if you don’t mind. Can the thickness of the slices be adjusted? Also will it accommodate onions and larger items? This is my first time considering a food processor of an type. I don’t want to have unrealistic expectations. Thanks
No problem, Dave. That's what I'm here for. The thickness and size can't be adjusted on this. I think high end processors might have that ability, but those ones in this price range not so much. If you're using the discs, the size is limited to what will fit down the chute. A medium sized onion, for example, would have to be halved to fit in there.
@@JaquelineLanMarinho I wanna say I got it for $179 on the Black Friday deal? SO not a huge discount, but something is better than nothing I suppose. Frankly, I went into the store expecting to pay full price anyways, so it was a nice surprise. LOL
I like the review, but can it handle hot liquids like soup? It’s seems so hard when reviewing blenders on line to get thorough information. Seems that glass pitchers can really only handle the heat and not plastic.
@@jeremypearson6852 thanks! That one isn't rated for hot liquids, so no soups. I think ninja does make one that is, but I'm not sure. All the Vitamix stuff is though as far as I remember.
That might be peak as well. Ninja tends to advertise the peaks more than not. We actually had the 801 in house a while back, however, and I feel like the Ultimate System was better. Felt more powerful, and also the food processing part is a lot more useful.
With just that little bit of liquid, it's likely going to be really thick so it can get stuck a little. I''d use the single service cup to do that, so the area is smaller. Less of a headache I think.
This is really nice. I had a Ninja IQ, that I had a lot of attachments with. I sold the Blender, & forgot to sell the attachments. But it worked pretty good, for several years. I upgraded to another brand of Blender.
@@JoesPhenomenal A Vitamix A3500. Now all I have to do, is sell the attachments to the Ninja. 😀... I still have a lot of other Ninja products in my kitchen. They're really doing a great job, with their small kitchen appliances. I have the coffee maker, which is great! And the Ninja air fryer, the one that flips up. And I also have a Shark Ninja Vacuum cleaner. Im definitely a fan, of theirs & yours. 🙂
@@MoDavI-sl7iy Aww.. Thank you! Hey.. How do you like your shark vacuum? I was thinking about getting one of those. My Dyson is about to die a terrible death.. Haha. That Vitamix model you got is a fantastic one, by the way. To me it's their best value.
Heya Karl. I've heard those too. It's possible for sure, but all I can really tell you is that we haven't experienced a problem like that with any of the 3 we've had in here, and we use them quite a bit. Wish I could give you a better answer than that, but for me personally based on my experience with them, I'm not too concerned.
It doesn't have the suction lever on the side that ninja used to use.... Just regular suction cups now. That being said, if the cups and the counter top are clean, it makes a good seal and holds on really nice. When you want to pull it up, you gotta be careful and grab it from the bottom around the sides, so you don't put too much stress on the plastic. I've hear of people breaking clips on the bottom of the base when they pull on it from the top too much.
Thanks a lot for replying. I used the order version and liked a lot except the suction part. I broke the motor very badly. Wanted to try the newer version but don't have confidence on it due to it's same suction part.
Ninja makes a Hot & Cold blender, but this one isn't rated for hot liquids, so that's a bummer. Not sure what would happen if we put it in there anyways though, but I imagine it would possibly warp the pitcher? Just guessing on that one... An immersion blender would probably work much better for that, especially since you could leave the soup in the pot for it.
Heya.. According to Ninja, you can. However, I never put anything with plastic parts in my dishwasher. I juts hand wash everything. I've found that even dishwasher safe plastics get messed up over time, so I just like to play it safe. For the cleaning of the cups and pitcher, I will just shoot a small amount of detergent into them with warm water, and just blend them on the machine for a couple of cycles. Come out nice and clean, and you can keep your fingers away from those sharp ninja blades.
If you don't have a KitchenAid mixer and you don't do a ton of baking, it does the job just fine. Also, if you have a very small kitchen and no space for a bunch of appliances, it really is a great option. For me, I feel like the actual mixer has more utility though... and larger capacity. Sure does clean up easy, though! The ultimate system has a different base. You can only use those extra attachments on the new base, because the regular power blender doesn't have the buttons. It physically fits on there, but that's about it... that was the first thing I tried!
It depends what you are blending, I suppose... We make some rice flour in this in a video a few weeks back, and doing the rice dry worked ok, but it wasn't perfect.... soaking the rice made it fantastic though... That's a pretty extreme example though, as raw rice is super hard.. Softer stuff should powderize a lot easier. Hope that helps! Here goes a link to it if you wanna see: ruclips.net/video/zpeBkhYNC0Q/видео.html
@@JoesPhenomenal they dont sell it either in my country (Israel) at all unfortunatly. But I was kind of lucky to be abble to order it from Amazon yersterday...even if it cost me a LOT of money...arround 350$...i know this is crazy but that's the price to pay to ease my cooking time at home for my familly. At the end on the long run, I think it worth it and I will forget about the price :-)))
Could you guide if the Ninja Foodi shredder can be used to give a little thick shreded carrots with the given blades? Mine is becoming like a cole slaw.
Thanks! I've been planning to do that one actually... Looks pretty compelling and seems like a pretty logical update to the ultimate system. Will try to fit that one in soon once we Clear up our content queue.
I recently got this blender. I was wondering If the handle on the main lid goes down for easy storage (like the way it came shipped in the box)? After I remove it, it is always in the vertical position. I looked through the user manual but there was no mention of how to do it. I'm scared to break it. Thanks!
Hi. My Ninja Auto iQ (I think it's BL640) broke. I am thinking to buy the Professional Food Processor. Your video is very helpful. Can I use the Auto-iQ's cup and the processor bowl with the PFP?
That's a good question... Not sure about the new version of the food processor, but it looks like it might be closer to the new Detect base. Was your IQ a blender? Might be incompatibility with the functions since the PFP base has disc options on it.
Try making sure the pitcher is seated properly and that the lid is on the pitcher the right way. The spout on the lid should be opposite of the handle. If it isn't, the doesn't come on. Hope that helps!
I really like this Ninja system... seems to do just about everything and the price is really great..... I will take a look at the Kitchenaid's specs and get back to you though!
Ok.... so the Ninja Ultimate system is a complete system... it is essentially a 1600w blender with options for single serve cups and smoothie bowls that also has the ability to use processing discs to handle food processing duties. The Kitchenaid 13 is a 13 cup food processor. It has higher capacity than the Ninja which is a max of 9-cup, but I couldn't see any power numbers on their site. I assume that the Kitchenaid is a little less powerful, since the ninja needs the extra power for blending duties. Now, since the Kitchenaid is a food processor only, it means that it can't handle regular blending duties like the Ninja would, but it definitely has higher capacity so it can hanle larger jobs. How well it works, I can't be sure of since I haven't used it, but KitchenAid makes good stuff, so I have to assume it works pretty well.... but so does the Ninja and it can do a lot more stuff. I doubt you could go wrong with either one, but if you want to save counter space, Ninja's all in one solution will mean you only have one appliance out on your countertop instead of 2. If you need to be able to process jobs larger than 9 cups, however, the Kitchenaid might be a better choice overall. In my case I had a dedicated food processor before, and when we picked up the Ninja Ultimate system, I ended up putting the Food processor in the pantry and forgot that I had it after a couple of weeks. Kitchenaid might be a little more durable though, possibly? That's hard to say, but on average they make pretty resiliant products... their mixers are, anyways... Hoppe that helps!
I do have a ninja blender qith spiraling attachments the exact model is NN210Q.I hardly use it since first getting so it sits in my cabinet.i live ninja product have the blender mentiond, mentioned, ninja foodi pressure cooker, and small ninja air fryer
Nice! Correct me if I am wrong, but the NN210Q can spiralize, but it can't do reglar slicing, right? I want to say that it didn't have discs for just regular processing, but I could be totally wrong.
Hey man love the content! I’m having a hard time deciding on which blender to buy! I’m going to be mainly using my blender 90% for smoothies and protein shakes. Which would you recommend?
That's what I do in the ultimate system mostly too. I defintely recommend it, and it's good to have the other features for when you need them. You can save a little money with the of the personal sized single serve blenders, though. I am actually reocording an unboxing and working on a review for the Nutribullet Pro. That might be interesting if you have a couple of weeks you can wait to purchase... It's getting a direct comparison to the ninja foodi power belnder also.
I haven't used the Ninjachef stuff, so I don't have a great frame of reference on it... The Ninja Ultimate system is really veraitile with the processing discs and stuff though. For me, the ability to eliminate my food processor from the countertop was a pretty big deal. It's nice and powerful too.. Just not sure how the power and performance of the blending duties compare to the other though.
The co401b is the bundle sold at Costco. (that's what the CO is). Special bundle just for Costco members. Surprisingly, it appears to be exactly the same, except for better pricing.
Fantastic review! Do you think this would also do all of the jobs that mu Nutri-Bullet would do, thereby taking the place of three of my current appliances?
I think so... Is your nutribullet a single serve smotthie Blender? The Ninja is a lot. More powerful, especially with its single serve cups. Nice thick blends without having a bunch of uncrushed ice that you end up with sometimes if you have one of the lower power ones..
Heya, Richard. The Cuisinart is going to have a little higher capacity. Also, the Ninja relies on the blender pitcher, so it is a little more narrow than the Cuisinart pitcher which might make it a little harder to work with. Also the opening for the pusher might be a tad bit smaller on the Ninja. I'm not positive about how much power the Cuisinarts have, but the Ninja seems to be just fine there. Since the Ninja is more narrow, the processing discs will be more narrow, too... However, when we compared them to the performance on our Ninja food processor that features discs more like the ones on the Cuisinart, they seemed to work just fine. Overall, we were really happy with the performance of the Ninja Ultimate system, and the small gripes I mentioned really weren't that big of a deal to us since it all worked nice.... and we got to have that added utility of not having 2 different appliances to find space for on the counter or in the pantry.
Joe, if I want a blender and good food processor in one, which machine would you recommend? Or am I destined to have to buy a dedicated food processor? I don't use it very often. Much more the blender. Thanks!
Hi Jackie... I've been happy with that Ninja Ultimate system... Has done great on professing duties for me and my regular food processor has been sitting in a shelf ever since I got it. The discs are a little small, but that didn't bother me too much.
I have a vitamix but want to get a food processor. I'm wondering if I bought this mainly for food processing (grating cheese & carrots etc) if I would be as happy with it... it would be a bonus that I can also use for smaller single cup smoothies but I figure why not as a backup to my vitamix? it's a tiny bit less than the cuisinart 12 cup elite at costco... thoughts?
Hey! Thanks for stopping by! I think it's a great machine... You're right about the capacity though. It does hold a little less, but it works well. It ended up replacing my dedicated food processor all together, despite the smaller size. It's a nice value too.... Having a backup is always a good thing!
The CO version is sold at Costco. Normally those are a special bundle, but when I was over there last looking at them, it seems like everything is the same as far as power and what is included.
Never tried to, but I took a look at it to see. There are 3 screws that hold the Grey part onto the cup that go in under the dial. I am assuming that that center piece in th middle can be popped off somehow and they might be one screw in the middle holding the dial on. Then you'd be able to get to thoa screws.... It could be glued in though.
I have an old kitchenaid blender/processor that's dying so I'm researching. The kitchenaid blender pitcher is glass and the processor pitcher is plastic. I make pico often, but the plastic seems to have retained the odor from garlic and onions. How is the ninja plastic pitcher as far holding odor?
Heya Susan. Plastic is pretty pourous, so it does kinda of take on some odor if you use something strong in there like vinegar or garlic or something. That being said (as i just went over and started sniffing my blender pitcher for 5 mins), There's a slight scent to mine, but it's barely noticable... but it's definitely there. I tend to drain and wash my pitcher immediately after use though, so not to let anything sit in it for too much time for that reason. Really wish they made a glass pitcher..
@@JoesPhenomenal Thank you for taking the time to sniff this out and respond 🤪. I wish they would do glass, as well. Probably too heavy. As long as the odor doesn't leach into anything else I prepare, I think it should be ok. I was torn between this one and the Pro Duo, I watched your video on that and but you said there were no discs options, so I think I'm going to go with this one. Thank you so much for your reviews. They're very informative and helpful. Happy Thanksgiving! .
Thanks! And happy Thanksgiving to you too! The response on the glass was that it was dangerous because it could break when dropped.. Vitamix says the same... I kinda think it was a cost cutting move myself...
I miss the lever too. There was some kind of problem with the design of those and a lot were breaking, so they just kind of removed it.... WIsh they didn't get rid of it. With the new ones you just have to grab the sides, rolling your fingers underneath and pulling it up that way. If you grab it up higher, it can mess the base up a little and can be pulled apart. At least, that's what I've seen people complaining about.
Alright! Glad I could help you out! I have a vs. video coming out pitting this setup more directly to Ninjas blender and Food processor separates that goes a lot more in depth. You can kinda see where that might be headed, though.
You know.. I hear that a lot, too. But I've never had to sharpen the blades on it, or the other Ninja blenders I've used in the past. Maybe it depends on what you're blending? I do a lot of frozen smoothies though, so you would think that would dull it up if anything did, but I dunno.

Thank you for this 🙏 I impulsively bought one last night and was worried I rushed into a decision. I’m relieved 😅
Lol... Those darn impulse buys!
Can this be used to grind seeds?
Just picked this unit up today for $30.00 can’t even wait to use it.
Geez... That's the deal of the century. How'd ya swing that?
@@JoesPhenomenal i used my pc optimum points towards the payment
Ahh... Good thinking!
This was a really good review! I just bought the foodie, and just started using it today. So far I’ve only made a smoothie, but I’m looking forward to using the other attachments as well. Thanks for the review.
You're welcome! Thanks for the kind words. Glad I could help ya out!
I took a chance and ordered an SS401 today. I'm glad this was a good review. lol New subscriber.
Cool! I think you're gonna like it. It's worked really well for everything we've done with it so far... We even have a pepperoni pizza video on the channel here where we did the entire thing from scratch with just this and a rolling pin. Came out pretty great, too... And thanks for the sub! Appreciate ya!
Love the tortilla blanket lol but great review. I just bought this and I am very excited
Lol Thanks! You saw thet, eh?
bought this today prior to watching this. looks like i made a good decision!
Cool! Hope you like it! It's a fantastic value for sure... Especially when you can save some counter space in the process!
Hi, what about nut cream? Thanks 🤗
Great informative content...Well done!
Thanks for checking it out!
thank you for sharing ,this is really helpful for me to know, this really worth it, and replace all other big machines like dough one.
ps. thank you for the music on the back that was smooth and not to loud compare to other videos we can hardly hear what the person is talking .
Thanks, Mina! I had those same problems at first... Takes a little while to learn what levels everything needs to be at... It sounds different when you edit than it does on RUclips, so definitely some getting used to!
This was phenomenal Joe! 😏 Hubby just bought me one for Christmas can't wait to open and use it
Nice!
Thank you for this review! This system is on sale at Costco right now so I'm doing some research. Sounds like it might be worth it.
I saw that! It's a great price over there, too. I thought about picking an extra one up from there to use as a gift when Christmas comes up... It's such a long ways off though. Haha
@@JoesPhenomenal That's a great idea!
Sounds like the Costco version. If the model number has a "CO" in it, that's where it's from... Makes sense though. It's on sale there now I think.
Thank you for your honest review of this product. I made a purchase after watching the video. Thanks

Loved our old Ninja but a few pieces got lost & parts too $$$. Just ordered this & excited about food processor addition! Thanks for review!

Excellent review! Thank you! 🎉
You're welcome!
Carrots only? How about the cabbage ? Thanks
It shreds cabbage really nice too... For that you would use the shredding disc.... Same disc that I used to shred the cheese.
Great review! I have all the info I need now. I’m getting this!
Awesome! Hope you like it.
I love to make pesto. Is there a drizzle hole to add oil/liquids while processing on either lid?
Oh me too! If you are using the processing lid, you can pull out the pusher, and you can pour right in there without removing the lid or turning off the machine. If you are using the regular lid, you can always open the spout and pour it in there.
Thanks for the helpful review. Your style is very comprehensive and informative.
Thanks, Vincent! Appreciate ya!
I just got mine today at Target and found it on Walmart for 199. Then used a target discount only paying 195. Because the coupon cover 100% of the taxes and change left over to toward the price
Nice!
Fabulous video I like how you have experience with multiple types of ninja I want this one
Thanks, Lady! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi which food processor with blender would you recomend? Which have lots of option to do and easy to clean . Thank you
We are still using the one in this video, and we use most of the functions on it. Been pretty happy with it. The food processing discs could be a tiny bit larger, but it's not really an issue at all.
@@JoesPhenomenal thank you for your replay. Please tell me do you think this one is better or model bn800? Thank you
I think it is....
@@JoesPhenomenal ok. Which one is more quieter ?
They seem about the same to me. When using the discs they're actually both pretty quiet since it spins at a lower speed.
I wonder if I can buy replacement parts (feed chute and discs) and use it on the SS351 Ninja Foodie model since they look almost identical 🤔
I tried that... The pitcher will work, but the disc spinning is a new function that isn't on the old base, so it won't make the processing discs go. I was bummed out. Haha
I don’t need the disks but I like how this machine looks, it is hard to decide between this one or ss351 or BN805a
It's a great machine. You may not need those discs now but they sure are nice to have when the time comes that you need them.
@@JoesPhenomenal oh that’s great 😃
I want to ask too, does it chop green leaves like parsley very fine ,without extracting the water from the leaves, to make salad ?
It does extract quite a bit of the water due to the fact that the blade tree is so sharp. It doesn't really pulverize stuff like a lot of other blenders do.
Thank you so much doing this review! It was straight to the point. Just brought mine from Costco, and I'm really excited 😊
You're welcome! Yeah.. I saw they are having a great sale on those right now.
@Joe's Phenomenal yup! It's 40.00 off and I'm so happy lol
Niiice... I might need to get an extra one.... And save it for a gift for someone... Maybe even a subscriber giveaway or something.
Does it make Almond flour and slice onions ??
The almond flour, yes no problem. on the onion slices, it depends on the shape you want to get out of them, and the orientation you put it in there at since it's all layers. For onions, I've always just hand sliced them unless I wanted something like a julienne slice or something.
Does dice, chop and/or mince onions and garlic?

All the Vitamix stuff is though as far as I remember.
thanks for the reply. So the BN 801 model has 1400W. I need powerful equipment. Maybe he's ideal
That might be peak as well. Ninja tends to advertise the peaks more than not. We actually had the 801 in house a while back, however, and I feel like the Ultimate System was better. Felt more powerful, and also the food processing part is a lot more useful.
Can you do hot blending in here? Like thickening up a hot vegetable soup?
The pitcher isn't rated for hot ingredients. Ninja doesn't recommend it.... However, I have done it, and it seemed to work ok for me.
best review and comparison of the line up.
Well, thank you kindly!
What u suggest about these for making 0 or just a bit liquid sorbet
With just that little bit of liquid, it's likely going to be really thick so it can get stuck a little. I''d use the single service cup to do that, so the area is smaller. Less of a headache I think.
This is really nice. I had a Ninja IQ, that I had a lot of attachments with. I sold the Blender, & forgot to sell the attachments. But it worked pretty good, for several years. I upgraded to another brand of Blender.
Whatcha end up replacing it with?
To me it's their best value.

ive heard stuff about the blenders motor burning out and wanted to know if this should be a concern when buying
Heya Karl. I've heard those too. It's possible for sure, but all I can really tell you is that we haven't experienced a problem like that with any of the 3 we've had in here, and we use them quite a bit. Wish I could give you a better answer than that, but for me personally based on my experience with them, I'm not too concerned.
thank you for making this video!!! it really helped me make my decision

Does it grind wheat berries into flour
I haven't tried that, but I have made rice flour in it which came out good. Not sure which is harder though.
@@JoesPhenomenal ok great thanks very much!
Hey, how about it's suction? I am curious to know is it easy to move?
Yeah.. Just lift from the bottom and you'll be all good. I haven't had any issues with mine, but I know where you're coming from.
Joe can this handle blending hot soups into creamy
Ninja makes a Hot & Cold blender, but this one isn't rated for hot liquids, so that's a bummer. Not sure what would happen if we put it in there anyways though, but I imagine it would possibly warp the pitcher? Just guessing on that one... An immersion blender would probably work much better for that, especially since you could leave the soup in the pot for it.
OK Joe but if you’re going to use all these different attachments can you put them in the dishwasher after?
Was the dough better than the kitchen aid? Also can you purchase the additional food processor attachments if you get the basic Foodi?
If you don't have a KitchenAid mixer and you don't do a ton of baking, it does the job just fine. Also, if you have a very small kitchen and no space for a bunch of appliances, it really is a great option. For me, I feel like the actual mixer has more utility though... and larger capacity. Sure does clean up easy, though! The ultimate system has a different base. You can only use those extra attachments on the new base, because the regular power blender doesn't have the buttons. It physically fits on there, but that's about it... that was the first thing I tried!
I just purchased this….. what do u think about the vitamix blender? I find it to be too bulky but I hear it’s awesome.
The Vitamix stuff is big, bulky, loud, and they lack a lot of features... but they are POWERFUL, and they last really long, too. That price, though.
Would you recommend the one from Costco?
Model CO401B
I was looking at that. Looks like everything is about the same... Good price, too.
@@JoesPhenomenal Great! Thanks for the reply.
@@deborahasabere5775 you got it!
Hi Joe,
Please can I blend to powder form with this?
It depends what you are blending, I suppose... We make some rice flour in this in a video a few weeks back, and doing the rice dry worked ok, but it wasn't perfect.... soaking the rice made it fantastic though... That's a pretty extreme example though, as raw rice is super hard.. Softer stuff should powderize a lot easier. Hope that helps! Here goes a link to it if you wanna see: ruclips.net/video/zpeBkhYNC0Q/видео.html
So annoying that this version is not available to buy in the uk - it looks awesome!
Ugh... That's terrible! Amazon won't ship. There? I would imagine that if they do, you would need to adapt the power cord also.
Well, that's still less than a lot of competing brands. Let me know how you like it when it arrives!
Could you guide if the Ninja Foodi shredder can be used to give a little thick shreded carrots with the given blades? Mine is becoming like a cole slaw.
Unfortunately, it isn't adjustable. It just does those same sized ones. I think the only other option would be to use the slicer maybe?
What's the difference between the ss351 and this ss401?
The 351 doesn't handle processing discs. I believe the tamper cup is a little smaller too, if I remember right.

If I want to blend /powder some spices like pepper corns, cinnamon sticks, will this do the trick?
Love the video! Could you do a comparison with this machine and the new Ninja Detect Kitchen System Power Blender?
Thanks!
I love this , i use it everyday
@@JoesPhenomenal Thank you for your reply. I bought a new one! I haven't tryed the old one on the new one but I love my new Ninja.
@NXGNfamily yay! Conograts.. Opening new stuff is always fun too.

Try making sure the pitcher is seated properly and that the lid is on the pitcher the right way. The spout on the lid should be opposite of the handle. If it isn't, the doesn't come on. Hope that helps!
Ah nice! The new Ninja blender! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! Thanks for stopping over, my friend!
I am trying to decide on this and a kitchen aid 13 cup which in your opinion is better
Hello
Does this have a speed control twist knob?
Heya John. Yeah... That dial in the middle that is used for the start button can also be twisted for variable speed if you are in manual mode.
@@JoesPhenomenal Thank you!! Your vids are Awesome
Thanks! I'm tryin!
@Joesphenomenal i have a question.
What do you prefer between this blender or ninjachef blender ??
I haven't used the Ninjachef stuff, so I don't have a great frame of reference on it... The Ninja Ultimate system is really veraitile with the processing discs and stuff though. For me, the ability to eliminate my food processor from the countertop was a pretty big deal. It's nice and powerful too.. Just not sure how the power and performance of the blending duties compare to the other though.
Hello, do you know what the differences are between the ss401 blender and the CO401B blender? Thanks
Hey joe how do you compare this to cuisinart 14 cup food processor?
Did you try to make dosa batter in it?
I haven't yet. Need to put that on my list.

@@JoesPhenomenal I did the dosa batter and it worked with beautiful consistency. Made Dosa as well as Idli with same batter.

Having a backup is always a good thing!
what is the difference between ss401 and co401
The CO version is sold at Costco. Normally those are a special bundle, but when I was over there last looking at them, it seems like everything is the same as far as power and what is included.
How the heck do we remove the gray piece that is locates inside the small cup blender? Help!!!!
Thank you! Wr just bought this one and I need exactly this tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!
is there a way to release the suction cups on the bottom? My smaller ninja has a release lever, this unit does not appear to, or else I'm missing it.
@@JoesPhenomenal Dang, OK, thanks for responding, much appreciated!
You're welcome!
My old one just burnt-out, so I am in the market for a new blender. Will the old containers fit the new system?
Great review. Helped me decide on which to choose
Alright! Glad I could help you out! I have a vs. video coming out pitting this setup more directly to Ninjas blender and Food processor separates that goes a lot more in depth. You can kinda see where that might be headed, though.
Great real world review!!
Thanks!
Can you sharpen the blades, I hear they can dull quickly.
You know.. I hear that a lot, too. But I've never had to sharpen the blades on it, or the other Ninja blenders I've used in the past. Maybe it depends on what you're blending? I do a lot of frozen smoothies though, so you would think that would dull it up if anything did, but I dunno.
RUclips how to sharpen ninja .
