Ninja did a way better job on this system than they have with this type of all-in-one type system in the past! If you wanna see the Ultimate System's full review, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/VDHLPfgmCSM/видео.html
I had (still have, really) the Ninja HB150 Hot & Cold Blender and the Ninja BN602 Professional Advanced Food Processor, but the SS401 Power Blender Ultimate System had been gnawing at me for some time, and your reviews did nothing to appease my itch for it. So, when it finally went on sale, I ordered the SS401. Needless to say, I love it to bits and it rendered the other food processor redundant. As you correctly state in your review, it does the job at least as well as the dedicated food processor and the difference in power, stability, and longer run times are very noticeable, especially when grating hard or dense cheeses or making dough. To my surprise, while the SS401 is a great blender, it didn't make the Hot & Cold Blender redundant. I find that I'm pretty hooked on the ability to throw in ingredients, press a button, and get a home-made soup after 30 minutes and no fuss. It also turns out that the Hot & Cold Blender is better at very liquid jobs, much like the nutrient extraction cup/blade of the SS401, but with a capacity of 64 ounces instead of the 24 ounces for the cup. For some jobs, that matters. So, I ended up replacing the food processor, but not my blender. While the extra counter space would have been nice, I really like having the two sets of complementary features and I make soups often enough that I don't feel like boxing and unboxing the HB150 every time. So, I probably look like a dork for having two blenders on my counter, but at least, I'm a happy dork.
Oh man, Joe! During Cyber week, I bought a Ninja Neverstick cookware set, Ninja Dual Brew Pro, and Ninja Dual Heat Oven. Now after watching this amazing comparison video, I NEED this! I won't be getting out of the dog house until well after the new year. Seriously, you knocked it out of the park with this video, even after watching your stand-alone videos on the separate appliances I learned something.
Thanks Joe, rewatching your tutorial eased my mind since my blender ultimate processor is purchased and should arrive tomorrow. I did some addition research in waiting and was beginning to have doubts but thanks to your comparison tests I believe I made the right decision.
Thanks Diana! I'm trying... I'm not always perfect on these, but I always try to improve. Just trying to help people get a little different looks on things.
Yeah... Now I have a Blender and also a food processor that are gonna sit in the closet until the end of time... Haha. Maybe I can make a torture test video... Or possibly I can do a subscriber giveaway on them or something.
Looking this one up on their website it says it's 1200-watts but with 1600-Peak-Watt Power Dense Motor. I wonder if it is the same motor as the Costco model or if it slightly upgraded so it has that peak power?
The Costco power blender I think is 1200 watt with a 1400w peak? The slight increase in power makes sense since it has to run the processor discs without bogging down, but in the blender comparisons, I didn't notice a difference there. They both did a nice job though.. The one with the Ultimate system might be a tiny bit more quiet... again, it's close though.
are the SS401 (Ultimate system) accessories (like the chute lid, disc setup etc.) compatible with the SS351 pitcher? I guess they are ? and I'm thinking of buying SS401 parts for whatever is not there in my SS351 in comparison.
The pitchers are different. They physically fit and will do all the normal blending stuff, but there is a mechanism inside the pitcher handle of the intimate system that controls the discs and interfaces with the new disc function of the base.... I was thinking the same thing when I picked it up. Lol
Managed to get the Ninja Power Blender SS200 on clearence for $35 ! Very happy with it! Was also wondering if some of the inserts for the ultimate system (mainly the food processing blades and top would if the power blender? (I have a feeling that i may need to upgrade soon😅)
Nice!! You got an great deal. The ultimate system's discs only work in the pitcher for that system and also that base. The base has the controls to make the discs go, and the pitcher has a plastic control pass-through that only engages when the top closes...That was the first thing I tried to do.. haha
Great videos! I'm loving your channel. I seem to be a new Ninja addict. *lol* In the last week I've purchased a Foodi FD401 12-in-1 Pressure Cooker Air Fryer, a BN401 Nutri Pro Blender Smoothie Maker, and ordered the SS401 Power Blender Ultimate System today. I fear I'm not finished. I'm hoping there's a 12 step program for Ninja addicts. *lol*
LOL. Thanks. Ninja products are easy to like... People say they don't last, but I haven't really had any serious problems with them... I recommend hand washing all the plastic stuff though.. Dishwashers are hard on that stuff and can cause plastics to crack if the water is too hot..... They have a pretty great coffee maker too, by the way (hint hint).
@@JoesPhenomenal lol I've been using a single cup coffee maker forever, as I live alone. It's a Black and Decker that I bought for my late mother probably 35 years ago. Thank you for the video. I was wondering how well it makes mayonnaise and dips. I am looking at buying one. I am also comparing it to the kenwood multi pro Express weigh food processor. It's similar pricing, but the kenwood has juicer and extra features.
Heya Paula... For mayo and dips, I'd recommend an immersion blender. They're pretty cheap and they handle those kind of things way better than a normal blender.... Super, silky smooth results.... Here goes a video about what those can do, if you wanna see. ruclips.net/video/45oLORy_fzM/видео.html
Forgot to mention, the ninja blender can do pretty nice mayo too, but you would want to use the single serve cup for that. It's higher rpm than the main pitcher since it had a tiny blade, and purees nicer... Less cleanup too.
Thanks Joe. I mainly use food processor than blender for my Mayo and dips like hummus. I hardly ever use blender for anything. What makes ninja attractive its that its one bowl that does both. I will have look at your suggestion. Thank you. Funny I had Russell Hobbs for nearly 10years. Even thou it's very cheap machine it did everything really well. Now I am looking at replacing it for something different. Appreciate your time and suggestions. Have beautiful day.
Thank you so much for making these phenomenal comparisons Joe! Quick question, how would you compare making dips with the regular Foodi power blender and the ultimate system? Let's say with hummus, how well can they make that compared to the dedicated food processor? Thanks!
Thanks! The foodi power blender and the one with the ultimate system would be identical.. If you compared it with the normal food processor, the power blender would make it smoother and thinner, while the food processor would be a little more granual since it's got a larger, slower blade. If you want to make it a little less smooth like that in the power blender, you can do it, but you have to pulse a bit and also keep the speed down as well... Other than that, pretty darned good. Without doing that, it would come out similar to the potato puree in the video.
I make daily thick anabolic protein ice cream. I only need the blender component and don't really care for the processor part. Which is the best for that?
I used to make it in the single cup Blender attachment, and that worked really well... The smoothie bowl attachment of you have it. If I did ice cream in it, I would pour the mix into ice cube trays, freeze that, and then blend it in the smoothie bowl or single serve cup. Worked pretty well. In fact, I have some stuff on the channel like that that I did in the power blender in the desserts Playlist.
The handle on the lid of the pitcher? Which system do you have? Is it the ultimate system? If so, which lid.. It comes with a regular lid and a food processor lid.
How does it handle chopping to make something like a chunky salsa vs the standard food processor? A little worried it would just end up blending everything to a smoothie like consistency but hoping I’m wrong.
You can do it, but it has much sharper blades, so I would just use a few short pulses to chop in it, otherwise I think you'll end up with a smoothie like you mentioned.
Saw a couple of comments from ya that got deleted.. Couldn't see enough of them to be able to respond though...RUclips does that a lot for some reason.
A great video. Thank you. BN801 couldn't do it. Consumer support didn't know. Please, Joe, do you have any experience with these particular tasks? Or anybody else?

Joe, thanks a lot. Again excellent videos in all aspects. I learnt new things from them and hopefully, with SS401 I will make good almond flour. Walnuts, I will try but tend to believe they need manual grating due to higher content of fat.
You're welcome! Yeah... Those walnuts are a little trickier. Should be able to get them pretty fine in the single cup attachment though. Wouldn't try that on ein the big pitcher though.

If you plan on making ice cream pretty often like this, I'd recommend maybe using an ice cream maker for that. That way you don't even have to use frozen bananas and can just crush them up and put them in the machine. It might be easier for you that way.... Or can use the Foodi.
