Your video is being shared on most samsung forums because wirless go 2 will not work or any other mic that you recommend, I feel like creators are about to stop buying rode and switch to iPhone for content creation, lighting to usb c on wirless go 2 sounds amazing with my mke600 so sad android usb c is just a mess nobody can fix
Thanks for the video. Didn't you noticed that the sound level from the rode video micro is quite low compare to the internal microphone? I have this problem on my xperia1iv and same on my old redmi note 7
Just out of curiosity, are you using the official usb c to audio Jack adapter? Because ive bought an aftermarket adapter and it gives me a lot of high pitch noise when audio is detected (like when im speaking) so far I have tried both a wireless mic like the rhode go and a shotgun one too with the same results
Hi , Not sure if you can help me. I have the Magic pop mic c connection. I have the s23 - in pro video I can not turn on the usb mic. All the options are there but I am not able to turn them on to use the wireless mic. Any tips or tricks my friend? PS Great Video content! Great INFO!
Very good comparison. Thanks. I would like to use the Samson G-Track Pro mic with a Galaxy S22 (not ultra) to record music (acoustic guitar and vocals). How is this mic powered? Condenser mics usually need phantom power. Computer USB ports provide power, right, but I guess a phone USB C does not. What provides the power for the mic when using the USB to USB C adapter?
A normal USB 2 port provides up to 2.5 W of power (0.5 A at 5 V). That’s plenty of power to run a tiny DC-DC converter to provide whatever polarizing voltage a “true” condenser capsule might want, since the load impedance is effectively infinite. A 48 V phantom-powered condenser mic is allowed to use up to 240 mW, only 10% of the amount a USB port can provide, to provide capsule bias (if needed) plus power its preamp. A USB mic has to power the A/D converter and USB bus interface, and those are likely to use more power than the mic preamp (though at 5 V). Ohms law.
The Rhode you recommend is what I bought based on many recommendations but when it records, the sound output from the phone stops. So I'm unable to use it duet videos etc on Tiktoc... which is what I need it for. I have been searching for a solution or for a different mic that I can use.
settings / sound and vibration/ separate app sound. Have the music app play on Bluetooth while other phone apps play through phone speaker. If you are recording your voice over a video from the same app like tiktok, in theory it should work and not cut off the audio.
Similar - I want to accurately capture ambient outdoor noise (weather - basically - but if I can find a good enough mic you can bet I'll be recording earthworms, too!). Also, there's an abandoned church nearby and I want to spend a night in there recording the wind moaning through the unglazed windows. I think it would make for a magical 'soundscape' (are they called 'soundscapes'?). Is that really naff? Did you ever find a mic suitable to your needs?
I've been using wired mic on bandlab on my s10 and it has a denoise options and ull sound great. If you need help lmk I'm trying to help not looking for any comp. I'm hear for the same reason just wanna lil upgrade
@@XOwave I have a s21 and tbf it's been a pain having to buy the right headphones. I do have a condenser mic that fitted into the s9 but it doesn't fit into s21.
with a Galaxy N20U using the Rode Wireless mic and the SC16 USB-C cable and no would coming from the mic in Camera Video Pro recording...only from the internal mic on Galaxy.... WTF Samsung,,,, seems this has been a problem for a long time... is this software or hardware issue,,, anyone have luck using 3rd party camera apps
I'm still actually on the fence about getting a replacement one. It would have to be the Ultra variant but it's a solid device. So I'm sure I'm not alone.
G-Track Pro definitely had the best range and quality sound. Thanks!
Ya I love that microphone
@GregglesTV would you recommend the G-Track Pro or the Rode VidMic for at home voice acting? I have an S23 Ultra
Great review

I'd be using it for sound effects

Record a band with your phone. Then with the device. See how well it works
S21 in pro video audio does not turn on. Must be for ultra only.
Is it any good for singing Into?
