    I understand and I am so grateful for the support but when someone says "it will be interesting to watch what will happen in the next weeks in Kharkiv"...I know you are speaking of war-theater...but it is my Homeland. War in my Homeland. No person should ever go through what people in Ukraine are going through.

      Ukraine gained independence in 1991. It lost Crimea in 2014. During this entire period Ukraine did nothing to build up defenses. The west knows so Ukraine certainly should that Russia attacks the weak. The government of Ukraine let its people down.

    Shoigu was made Secretary of the Security Council, replacing former FSB head Nikolai Patrushev. This wasn't a firing, it was a promotion! Patrushev has reportedly been shifted to a position in the Presidential Administration. Although no specifics were provided as to Patrushev's new title it was evident that he retains his political weight and influence. Neither Shoigu nor Patrushev have fallen from Putin's orbit. Meanwhile the head of the Defense Ministry office of Personnel Staffing was arrested, though the precise charges have not yet been published. This less than a month after the April 23 arrest of Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov for bribery and corruption. There's definitely a shakeup in the MOD. Meanwhile Russia has had its worse week in numbers of KIA troops, losing over 8,000 in a week and just yesterday losing over 1700 in a single day, the record worst day since the invasion began 24 February 2022.

    What nonsense, Shoigu has been promoted. He has done a very good job. Has Russia not produced more artillery ammo than the entire west by an order of magnitude? Have they not produced more missiles than the west by orders of magnitude? Have they not produced massively more Tanks than the west by several orders of magnitude. Have they not produced more drones than the combined west? Are the FAB glide bombs not causing havoc? A real game changer! Is the Russian Army not recruiting more than a thousand men a day? Has not all this been acheived for a fraction of what it would cost the west? Some failure! The west could do with a few Shoigu’s! The new man is financially based. The main job is done, Ukraine is busy crumbling. His job will be to introduce more reforms and new initiatives while bringing expenditure back towards normal for post war. Post war will be in six months about.

And some numbers-guy has had to take the place as „Defence“ minister. Please stop talking as if this is a proper functioning parliament. This is a gangster crib. With NOTHING going on unless the dictator says so. For crying out loud…. (When will we learn…?)

  • @martlaas-ce8ir
    @martlaas-ce8ir 10 дней назад

    This is the first video I've seen about Russia where Times Radio is completely off the mark. All this talk about Putin realising that Shoigu is corrupt is pure nonsense. He knows all that and he doesn't care. So no news there, no sudden realisation of truth. Shoigu was promoted, not demoted. Patrushin's position in the hierarchy of Kremlin was much higher than Shoigu's. Head of security council means dealing with the whole security apparatus, it means to be closer to Putin. And as in medieval court, the closer you are to the czar, the higher your position is.
    The fact that Patrushev was replaced with Shoigu means two things. First, Patrushev fall out of favour and was demoted. Second, Putin still trusts Shoigu, he wouldn't have given him this position otherwise.

    • @rmdomainer9042
      @rmdomainer9042 10 дней назад +2

      No, he was moved sideways into a position where he can do no harm. That is not a promotion. Medvedev is in their security council. That tells you all you need to know.

    • @martlaas-ce8ir
      @martlaas-ce8ir 9 дней назад

      @@rmdomainer9042 Medvedev is a court jester, it doesn't matter what title he formally holds, he doesn't do anything anyway. The security council is nothing to joke about, its function is to have Putin's back and watch over all security organizations. This puts the position of secretary of security council (eg the one who actually runs it) way above any given minister's.
      So, Shoigu was moved up, closer to Putin, Patrushev was moved down. This would never have happened if Shoigu had fell out of favour.

    • @rmdomainer9042
      @rmdomainer9042 9 дней назад

      @@martlaas-ce8ir I disagree. But I respect your analysis. Putting Shoigu out of the ability to do harm at the current frontlines is at least a demotion and a sign of disrespect. Showing to the people that they are dissatisfied with his war performance.

    • @martlaas-ce8ir
      @martlaas-ce8ir 9 дней назад

      @@rmdomainer9042 defence minister doesn't conduct war in any country. Look who replaced him, a chinovnik with even less military experience. I don't think he will be able to do much more Shoigu did.
      Replacing Shoigu may make sense if whole higher command will be reshuffled as well but so far this hasn't happened.
      Anyway, my point was that Shoigu is not being punished, he has not fallen out of favour and the fact that he is corrupt hasn't come as a surprise for anyone. This is how Russia works.
      As for showing people dissatisfaction - first, Putin don't care and second, if he would care, he'd do exactly the opposite. Because the only reason for him to care would be because he is afraid of their opinion. And in this case showing his dissatisfaction in such a manner would look like a weakness. You never show weakness in Russia, especially if you're Putin.
      If he'd care and wanted to show it that he is not satisfied, he would have done something drastic. Heads would roll, at least in public.
