love you @Dirty Medicine!!
Love you @Dirty Medicine
Mnemo I use for Doxorubicin /Daunorubicin:
They both end in -rubicin -> ruby (= red) -> the heart is red -> cardiotoxicity
Dilated cardiomyopathy because it starts with D like Doxorubicin
Dexrazoxane used to prevent it -> also starts with D and sounds like Roxane ('Roxane, you don't have to put on the red light', song by the police) -> again red for RUBYcin and heart
Hope it helps someone :D
ty
Funny things is doxorubicin is actually a red solution and is known as ‘the red devil’
That's a good one
This is perfect!!! Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you! I sing the song Roxanne every time I see the drug name now lol!
You have no idea how much I pray for you each night you are an angel, I was praying to GOD that you make a video on cancer drugs and the video came ,May God always always always keep you happy and blessed
May GOD bless you as well well wisher
I just passed STEP 1 so I am coming to reply to my most favorite Dirty mnemonic ever!! Vincristine and Chris Christie Bridgegate. I remember this one soooo well! Thank you for all you do. As soon as I am making money I am totally joining the channel.
Where is the ad. I want a few ads in your videos you deserve them👍🏼
Just to share my mnemonic for Topoisomerases
I can
2 (to the) side
so,
"I can" is topoisomerase 1, which ends in CAN
"2 (to the) side" is topoisomerase 2, which ends in SIDE
You got it ha ha
Same here👍
THANK YOU!
Thank you for sharing sister
I have a test on Tuesday and I went from feeling I was going to flunk to feeling good in just 30 mins. THANK YOU!
10/10 - Taking step 1 in a few weeks and pharm has always been my weakest subject. Thank you so much, your videos are so helpful!
Just a tip, for side effects the human image with corresponding drugs to organs is a great visual mnemonic in the First aid book.
I’ve seen the “Chemo Man” image used for this
I was procrastinating studying and then got your alert, so I'm gonna watch and start studying now. Thanks!
THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!. Please do a video on anti tumor monoclonal antibodies!!!!!!!. They have started to come in questions a lot!!!!!
I was praying for this! thank you so much
For learning neuropathy for Paclitaxel: the "pathway"(neuropathy) of the bridge was blocked so you called a TAXI (paclitaxel)
That took a new pathway (neuropathy)
Thank you, Dirty! You are my hero!
Where's the old cancer drug video where you had the "it's time for the percolator dance" part, I remembered that video better
yeah i like that one better too
AGREED. "Piss-platin" for cisplatin is also much easier to memorize
@@omega3pictures oh yould you share this old one?
Excellent video, what an amazing explanation, thank you so much.
I don't know if this helps anyone but the way I remember the M-phases as well is by remembering that a bridge can sometimes fold up, separating them in the middle, kind of like what happens in a cell right after metaphase.
i miss your old way of explaining, you were very funny and energetic . please be your old you!!
with my regards from iraq.
Can you upload the old video? It was shorter and easier to digest. I know this one is more complete, but it would be nice to have both versions. Thanks!
Hi, Dirty I’ve come across two different questions about the Alkylating Agents and they have had G1 and Cell-Cycle Non-specific as answer choices and both times it’s been CCNS. Resources checked were Becker, Boards and Beyond 2018 and Uworld. I have to say that I use your mnemonics all the time for memorization and on test day and have benefitted tremendously, but for this one specific thing I thought I’d give a heads up. Thank you for your content it’s been very helpful.
You're right. Alkylating agents are cell cycle non-specific
I have a final today on cancer. Oh my god, I'M SAVED!
Thanks for Explaining in such a better way 🙏🙏
Thankyou dirty !!!!!! You are an angel
I will never forget 5FU adverse effect, ever again.
this is probably the best video anyone can make for the driest topic in the universe. well done!
This guy did made them super easy much easier to study than study them alone from a book
"What the hell are they asking me?"
Me at every question
A great video , nicely divided , very high-yield . Thank you very much
God bless
Please make a video on immuno modulators and recent drugs
HEY , AMAZING VIDEO AS ALWAYS!! CAN yoU PLEASE DO ONE ON MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES
Seriously ur such a saviour…👍🏻
Etoposide: E"two"poside. I don't know if anyone else shared that already but that's how I remember it.
The Chris Christie thing was easily the worst memory aid I've ever come across in 20 years of undergrad and post-grad medical practice 😂😂. The 5FU/middle finger one is gold
Lmao
Please do some videos on high yield bacteria, fungi, virus and parasites. Like agars, virulence factors etc etc
Very helpful, you are fabulous
you are so helpful thank you
TAXES are always increased so they polymerise microtubules.
amazing!! better than sketchy for sure!
YOU ARE LITERALLY A GOD-SENT ANGEL
Thank you so much for this video!! You have actually made it super easy to learn.
Irinotecan, topotecan - 'I can' …topoisomerase-1
Etoposide- '2 sides'…topoisomerase-2
Where's the percolator gone? It's time for the percolator , intercolating DNA !! Bring it back man!
youre amazing dude, thank you so much
Love the politics mnemonics you are a genius
You say the cell cycle has been crammed into my brain since before medical school, but I, have sucked at understanding the cell cycle since I was 14 so hurrah.
Very very very helpful !!! 👍
This video is made by a beautiful and amazing human being!
Love you bro. Love 💕 from the 🇳🇵
great video but the main moa of antracyclins(doxo-daunorubicin) is also inhibitting the topoisomerase2
thank you so much , from iraq
Thank you soooo much!!!
A clear explanation.
Superb👍
You might wanna update this video as alkylating agents and platins are cell cycle non specific.
Thanks alot. This helps me alot 😭❤
Wow! Great ! Thanks!
In the TAXI they had to take a different PATH.
Or sitting on the taxi for to long can make your legs numb!
Awesome thank you so much 🙏🙏 especially the s phase drugs they were killing me 🥴 , not anymore 😁
A genius! Thank you so much😍
Love you Dirty USMLE! Studying for step 1 now. Patreon for sure
I made a different dumb mnemonic for Cladribine/Cytarabine: Tara likes pie, but Chad is a purist and won't eat anything unhealthy. Thus CyTARAbine is a PIErimidine analog, and CHADribine is a purine analog.
Kinda silly but hope it helps someone!
Amazing!
Hey sir, you are the best senior out there 😍
M phase Duplicate phase( m phase inhibitors). Inhibition of microtubules.
Vincristine, vinblastine( prevent polymerisation, stops microtubules). Neurotoxicity, paclitaxel,( hyperstabilise M phase, makes it superstable) Neuropathy eribulin causes arthalgia.
Gi ( cell duplication) phase inhibitors cisplatin,( nephrotoxicity)bulsulfan( pulmonary fibrosis) cytotoxicity, cyclosphamide( hemorrhagic cystitis), camustine,(cns toxicity).
S phase. ( DnA phase)!
Azathiapine : purine synthesis
6 mecapurinol: purine synthesis xanthan oxidase
Methotrexate myelosupression.
thank you
Thanks 👍👍👍
Thanks for making it so simple 😩❤
so many funny moments the only thing is I cannot study around with you with my kids around lol
lol
Hey please post your old video with the percolator it's better . This is good too ;) but post both
You are my hero
Bleomycin and busulfan blow out the lungs.
I like your mnemonic but this one helps me so I am hoping it helps others as well!
Please please please- this is good but I need the old video!
Please any one just help with monoclonal antibodies used for which receptor nemonics and tyrosine kinase inhibitors uses
tenipoSIDE/etopoSIDE (topo II) -- there are "TWO SIDES" to every story
Paclitaxel starts with letter "P".. neuropathy has a "p" in the middle so...it can be memorized like that
i thought he was gunna say paclitaxel / neuroPATHy. People would have to take another route, aka another PATH, to go through the bridge or whatever. but yours is pretty cool too!
Can you make new video regarding hematology and oncology drugs added in first aid 2021?
so helpful!!!!!!!!!
omg thank you
Such a good review 💯
miss your cytarabine old "mnemonic" :))
There are always two “ sides” to any thing. Etoposide and Teniposide = Topoisomerase 2
Isn’t carmustine also bioactivated in the liver? 9:01
for etoposide just remember eTWOposide
I know did Plasma cell dyscrasias, MPNs, Myelodysplastic syndrome, Lymphoma, Leukemia but doe we have to do this ? Necessarily??
Please Make a video about men syndromes pleases
Just want to let you know that Cisplatin arrests the G2/S phases.
a way I remembered topsides and pecans topsides have 2 Es so topisomerase 2 and pecans have one e so topoisomerase 1. hope it helps
❤❤❤
IrinotecAN,topotecAN AN=1
Inhibit topoisomerase 1
Taxis find a PATH through the city
no i take back what i said...it was before i watched the whole video
Vinblastine I think it’s a different side effect
Dirty presents clean stuff
There is always to sides so- drugs ending with sides inhibit topoisomerase 2
Two*
5 fluorouracil
Methotrexate
Hydroxyurea
5 FU
G2 Inhibitors.
Topoisomerase inhibitor check if it wound correctly.
Anti tumour antibiotics
Doxorubicin( pulmonary fibrosis)
Bleomycin: dilated cardiomyopathy.
Doxo=Detailed cardiomyopathy
Bleomycin=Pulmonary fibrosis
If God had a disciple that was a video this would be it lol
Im re-taking my Step 1 exam next month and feel so much more confident now that I found this channel!
Please make a video on AIDS 😇
Dirty sharing mnemonics based on US politics and sports, meanwhile me, the poor IMG
Neuropathy is what you get if you sit in traffic for too long!
