  • How he died was changed in the movies because Pettigrew’s book death was deemed too frightening for younger film-goers! In the book, Harry reminded Pettigrew of his life debt, making him hesitate. As Voldemort's creation, Pettigrew’s magical hand may have recognized that having a servant with a life debt to his worst enemy was a threat, which is why it strangled him - ironically saving Harry's life. On the other hand, Pettigrew’s death in the movie was nothing more than comic relief. He got hit with a spell by Dobby from the back, muttering a soft “ow” as he fell face-first.

So Voldemort killing that teacher wasn’t brutal ? What about that scene of Ron’s vision where Harry is making out with hermione? That’s not proper for a young audience

Should of not change the book scene. The Wizarding world can be hard . It's part of thier world. Why they took use of magic seriously at the school

Actually it wasn’t because the arm recognised Wormtail had a debt to Harry, it’s because when Harry said this to Womrtail, Peter hesitated for a second in killing Harry. The arm recognised this as a moment of weakness and betrayal, since Voldemort had made sure that the arm he gave Wormtail would force his loyalty to him, and Peter, aware of this, couldn’t and wouldn’t betray him out of fear for his life. That’s why it’s said that all four marauders died saving Harry’s life or fighting for him. James, cause duh, Sirius in ootp, Lupin during the battle of Hogwarts, and Peter because he saved Harry from dying at his expense.

So bringing Voldemort back with a satanic-esque ritual of murder, abduction and graphic assault of a teenager, grave robbing, and blood letting sacrifice isn’t as scary as a magical hand choking it’s user?

We’ve seen a Hogwarts professor literally turn into dust and ashes (HP1), Harry being stabbed with a giant snake fang, literally witnessing Cedric dying to the killing curse, watching Petigrew cut Harry’s arm at the graveyard, witnessing Harry nearly kill Malfoy in the bathroom, watching the death of Dumbledore, watching Hermione get tortured by Belatrix by carving Mudblood into her arm, and watching so many dead students and teachers at the Battle of Hogwarts including Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Lavender, Crabbe, and Snape (Fred, Lupin, Tonk, & Lavender to death eaters; Crabbe by being engulfed in flames, & Snape to being mauled by a snake). On top of that, we’ve even seen Hagrid being held hostage and possibly being tortured, Belatrix shatter into dust by Molly, and Voldemort flake out into dust. And yet, they were worried that Petigrew’s death would scare us?

How could that be deemed to frightening? They really must stop making these excuses, there have been worse scenes then that!

Peter's death maybe a little bit too dark for younger film goers.

I remember crying when i read it and then laughing when i watched it. I prefer the book bc i dont like the fact that dobby killed someone i always pretended he passed out and then was killed by voldy for letting them out

To scary for younger viewers their joking right like the half blood prince when weird creatures came out of the water when Dumbledore was drinking the poisoned water to get the horcrux

I didn’t even know Dobby killed Peter, I thought he just knocked him out

I think Wormtail was actually just knocked unconscious by Dobby in the movie and Voldemort killed him afterward for his failure

Someone being strangled by their hand: HOLD UP, too scary

I theorized in the movie that he was paralyzed by Doby, then was killed by the death eaters because he let them escape
