I’m just glad I didn’t push on down to Moab and beat on it for a week. I pulled into my first fill up a hour from the house and as I was pulling up to the pump I heard it ticking. I’m glad I called it instead of pushing on. There was one completely failed rocker, and one was just a little loose and about to fail.
@@shaunbudmusic I would at least plan on the possibility of having to pause the repair in the middle of it if you find damage to a cam lobe. I’ve heard quite a few times of people that didn’t have damage to a cam. This is the kind of problem that you definitely hear before you investigate so I think the camshaft is hardened enough to be able to take a little bit of abuse, I don’t know how much though. I was prepared to buy a new camshaft if I found damage.
I thought I put a graphic with the torque pattern in the video. It’s basically like a cylinder head, (from the center working outward) www.wranglerforum.com/threads/3-6-cam-cap-torque-pattern.2382067/#lg=thread-2382067&slide=0

43:30 the most important part of the whole video.
Props to you for filming all this!! You did better then any College professor I ever had. Great job.

Good detailed video thank you man!
Fantastic video, thank you for your help!!!
I've got about 1000 miles on my ticking, should I be prepared to replace a cam?

Excellent work, great explanation!!!
I’m glad it helped in some way.
Any reason u went with Melling and not molar for the rocker arms ? Does it make any difference
@@tonynevarez3836 only reason is I’ve had great experience with Melling oil pumps in the past. Some on big hp motors. So I trust their good products.
Great video dude
Appreciate it
@@TrailTime. Will be using it as a guide in the spring, you gave me confidence!
Was there any specific pattern to torquing down the bolts? Thank you

How many hours did you spend on this repair?
It was a one day job. Probably like 6-7 hours. The hardest part was that little screw at 11:50.
WHAT OIL YOU USE AND CHANGE INTERVALS>?
