    Been there a couple times.
    Need to win the lottery and go back there buy one of those race cars. They had
    Too many wheels and tires at there old location in lakeside business park couple years ago so they put
    4 old Robert Yates wheels with goodyears and interliners mounted on them out by the curb/mailbox to get rid of them FOR FREE!! Score!
    I grabbed me some of those!

    Just looking at some of the parts there has been so much that has changed sense I worked on race teams in the 80's and early 90's

    Dang, what a candy store of go faster parts! I love looking at that kind stuff and dream of building a road course stock car but that's all I can do. There is a lot to learn here and I enjoy and learn from your presentations. As I have said before I built three Corvair road racing cars and raced vintage for a number of years.

    I haven't seen his new shop so that's a good little tour you did. Definitely looks much better than his old shop when I bought my car from him. How's his new shop compare to SRI? I didn't have time to make it to him my last trip as I got caught up at SRI for longer than I planned.

    When you said cut down on the lines, are you able to do that or is that done somewhere else? Can we get a video of the line fittings being installed as a how to?

    • @stockcarsurplus
      @stockcarsurplus  Год назад

      I have access to a crimping machine through a current NASCAR team.
      I remove the fitting, cut the hose to length and recrimp the fitting to the hose with a new collet.

    What a heck of a video!! That was very fun to watch! Now even tho he’s open to the public, do you still need to obtain a NASCAR license to purchase specific parts from there?

    Could that KBM truck be raced in the truck series today and be competitive?

  • @bobroberts2371

    Chassis weight.
    I know weights are going to vary wildly depending on the era of car but it would be interesting to have weight estimates on:
    a complete car not bound to race rules
    rolling chassis + body no motor or trans
    rolling chassis no body, motor or trans
    bare chassis ( tubing ) with floor and firewall

    • @stockcarsurplus
      @stockcarsurplus  Год назад +1

      Weights do vary widely.
      My truck is built to the 2015 / 2016 pre Ilmore SPEC engine rules, with no lead in it. It weighs right at 2720 wet without a driver.

      Could be, I didn't pay much attention to it. They ran both, the two I got from them and parted out were Hendrick chassis.
