I also decided to switch to oils, and I have been looking on RUclips for tutorials and Pinterest for references. I have very happy have found your channel. Thank you!
I think it was Paint Coach who also speaks about conveying what your painting with as few brushstrokes as possible. I remember hearing him speak about it too 🌷
Just came across your channel and loving it , great work by you 👍, Wish i had the confidence to talk on camera about something I also love . As a self taught artist I know the feeling when your just not quite happy with your painting and after changing from coloured pencils to oil (which Im loving now) find it hard to be more free and not worry about details . Keep up the fantastic work 👏
Your arty powers are strong, and especially strong for powering through the seasonal lurgy that seems to have done the rounds this winter! 🎨💪😌 I looked through forward to seeing where your oil journey takes you, and it’s definitely inspiring me more and more to pick up a brush instead of an Apple Pencil! 😄
Mistakes are part of the creative process, which does not make them mistakes!😆I always count on mistakes and that I will suffer a little, especially if the composition is demanding...
Nice work! Have you tried painting from life? It’s harder to capture accurate likeness but seeing the colour shifts in the skin is so much easier. Recommend giving it a go if you get the chance!
Yes I'm actually lucky enough to have a live portrait painting class held weekly about 30 mins away from me so I'd love to go to that more often this year. Possibly make a video if I'm allowed to film in there🤞 But you're so right nothing beats a live model!!
Hey, I’m starting my journey just like you did, I was wondering if you use mediums or solvents to modulate the texture of your paint? If so, when/in what quantities do you use them throughout the painting? Thanks a ton!
I love this style. Hyperrealistic portraits don't appeal to me; they don't convey artistic expression. Regarding the brush strokes, I love to see them, the movement, direction, and texture tell a lot about the mood of the artist... 8:04 "we don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents"
She looks soooo juicy ( definitely not in the way you would normally use the word 😂) I really love the hair and the skin looks so healthy I like that you left it semi unfinished I quite like the look of such paintings even mine This motivated me to try something like that for myself- I’m usually thinking that there is no point in painting if it doesn’t turn out perfect. Definitely need to get some painting exercise ❤
Haha I think the 'juicy' look is thanks to the canvas board. It was way smoother than the canvses I usually work on so the paint went on sooooo nicely! And you're so right, I honestly love the unfinished look as well which is great because I'm lazy 😅
Hey I just wanted to let you know that I've just launched the Patreon! I remembered your sweet comment and thought I'd let you know ♡ patreon.com/Caitlinart

I've started feeling the same about hyperrealism- it's fun seeing all the brushstrokes rather than trying to hide them!
10/10
wow, what a great painting. what brushes do you use? !
also im p sure sargent said to use as little brush strokes as possible!
Nice video!!!
Would you like to do a Bouguereau's video about skin colours and how he painted naked skin?
Thank you!! I could definitely do a video like that in the future - it can be like the Sargent one

I think it's a new feature since this has never been an option before! I would love to know what you think of the dub. Is it any good?
