Had my pads and disc's done on my W222 recently and my Merc mechanic told me that when putting the wheels back on , the bolt GUN should never be used. Also he told me that the wheel's should be torqued up to 70 by hand when the wheel is up off the ground and with the wheel down , torqued by hand again up to 150 . Not following this procedure can damage the disc's apparently.

They do this to pay their rent, employees, benefits, and most of all, you don't know how to do it, so they can get away with it.
What is the name of the tool you used to put the rim on with that you got off eBay?

What happened to replacing the pads?
I made a separate video on changing the pad.
You do not have to take the caliper off to replace the rotor and pads. Take the pads out first and then remove the small screw holding the rotor on and the rotor will slide right off. Caliper bolts need a ton of torque if you do remove the caliper bolts. You should also use a fresh pair of gloves when installing the new rotor as you got a grease film on the new rotors when you installed them. Not good for bedding the new pads.
Man I really appreciate you and your videos if you had a camera man you would be deadly. I have used several of your videos and after getting a quote for front brakes at 1700 dollars I will be doing this myself. They also Change the hardware at the dealer when they do it. Is that necessary?

How many miles have you driven to change the brake rotors? Also are there any cracks on the rotor like near the bolt region??
Thanks for the compliment. When I had my car serviced last year by Mercedes Dealership they said my front rotors were warped and needed changing. If it was not from that I would have followed the maintenance guide per interval and changed them eventually. No cracks on the rotors.
how do I reset the brake pad light after I change the pads
If you changed your brake pad sensor then that is it. Nothing else to reset on the dashboard. If your brake lights did not come on your dashboard, you can use your old brake pad sensor.
How do you know which break pad needs replacing, on my w222 it doesn’t say which ones worn out?
You have to look on the thickness of the brake pad when you remove the tires or you can let it wear down so much that you have the replace brake pad and the sensor when brake pad indicator light come on in your dashboard.

@Slicks Village remove 1 tire from the front and look at the pads. Remove the rear tire and look at the brake pad. When you determine if it's the front pad or or rear then you buy your part

No I did not work for Mercedes. This is my 10th car and my 3rd Mercedes. Over the years I'ved worked on both foreign and domestic cars. Once you understand the basics, you can take that knowledge to any car. This is my 3rd Mercedes. My first is a 1994 Mercedes Benz C280, my second was a 2000 E320 Mercedes and my 3rd is a 2016 Mercedes Benz S550.
you did not show how to take off the pads or how to lube the caliper you skipped a bunch of stuff
Their are other videos I made on how to change the front and rear brake pads. For this video, their is no reason to change the pads, since the front pads are from Mercedes and the pads are fairly new. If I left out any procedure, you can implement them for your vehicle. After I changed my rotors, I was fairly satisfied with the results. Thanks for watching and thanks for your feedback.
