  • Thanks to the Quickness Herald in my subgroup, I don't have to bring spirits for Might and Protection. Instead, I take Frost Spirit to help deal with the condi pressure in this fight as well as the asura racial skill Technobabble for more quick cc. Only drop spirits if you know that their boons will still be covered!
In order to tank, I need to have more toughness than everyone else in the squad. Since I also don't have a block, I prefer to run high toughness. While Xera's Blurred Frenzy can be face-tanked, it does hit quite hard and can down me, so I prefer to dodge out of the way and / or heal & condi cleanse via Healing Spring, CA#2, or Frost Spirit (see 1:24, 3:37, 4:07).
In the main fight, the only dangerous and annoying conditions are confusion and slow. Confusion gets applied by Xera's Blurred Frenzy (only relevant for the tank as non-tank players should be behind Xera at all times) and Xera's Phantasms (adds that spawn frequently during the fight), while slow gets applied by standing in the small AoEs with a tiny red outline left behind by the red orbs coming from the laser in the middle.
In the pre event, I take care of an orb by swapping to Iboga next to a rift and pulling the orb via F2 (see 0:10). On the 2nd platform, it took a while for a player to step on the last button (see 0:32). We still managed to 1-shot the shard, but it was pretty close since the other player and I had to step off our buttons due to having reached 10 Chaos stacks at that point.
By gliding in early and closing the glider when I'm in the main platform, I spawn in the middle of the arena immediately which negates any movement Xera would usually do if I just ran in (see 0:59). This can change her attack pattern though which means she might do her Blurred Frenzy early.
At 90%, Xera gains a breakbar which I help to break ASAP by casting any available hard ccs such as Glyph of Equality, both pet F2s, Mace#3, Warhorn#5, entering CA thanks to the Druid adept trait Blood Moon, CA#3, and Technobabble (see 1:12). Depending on the squad's dps, she might do more breakbars (see 3:56).
Sadly, the gliding phase is quite long, so in order to keep up Alacrity CA has to be used during the phase. Since everyone is moving around, I usually don't hit everyone in my subgroup though which leads to drops in Alacrity uptime. I try to place down Staff#5 on our way to also grant regeneration to the offgroup (Staff#5 does not have a target cap) and therefore potentially receive more CA generation from healing ticks (see 2:04, 2:30). If people get hit by the damaging aura or AoEs on the platforms it's quite easy to get CA again, however landing too early can easily lead to downstates (see 2:40) which is why it's better for everyone (except for a Druid trying to get CA) to just stay in the ley-line by leaning back or turning around until it is safe to land.
In the 2nd phase, I tank Xera at the edge by pulling her close to platform number 5 (see 3:16). Since our squad's dps is quite high we can just stay there the entire time. However, if the squad's dps isn't high enough you can just move into the middle at the end when shards respawn close to you.

Disclaimer: Only drop spirits if you know their boons will still be covered! Both Monk (Core) or Karakosa (SotO) relic are fine; keep in mind that you need to successfully combo your blast finishers for Karakosa though which requires a squad composition with lots of combo fields or adjustments in your gameplay, making Monk the all-rounder pick. If you don't own SotO for Mace, take an Axe instead - you trade some protection, regeneration, and vigor sources, cc, and healing for potentially unique conditions, range, and faster CA generation. You only have access to Technobabble if you play asura. The infusion isn't strictly needed; without it you lose 5 concentration = 0.33% boon duration.
