Its obvious Ishan also has good tatses just like we do. We all kinda have things in common with him. If we see him everywhere.
Y'all looking for another sister? 👀

😂
For real😂😂✨
😂😂😂😂
Okaay!
Love that they included giving money back to their parents!
ye23 no, this is common in the west african community.
The younger one is the one that gives back
This is common in the BLACK COMMUNITY🧐.
Same here its so sweet❤
@@leksa6143 it's also common in other cultures/religions...lol you dont got a say no.
When she said no student loans I dropped to the floor
LOL! Right...
😂🤣
my parents are paying for my tuition, so i won't have student loans....but then again, i'm not american.
@@OmotolaALawal You are incredibly blessed. You better do well, lol.

do you also realise how much she studied to be able to do so
You should start your own company, then. If you are a company, there are numerous tax right-offs. My friend used to own a high end clothing line that sold in places like Neiman Marcus. Any clothes she bought was a tax right off. Of course, she also hated clothes after a while. And to look at clothes was mostly a chore. My wife is the same way: She worked in the production side of cosmetics/skin care and found that she was so over it. She doesn't find any joy in it. And she finds that there is no mystique.

Black sisters living their best life.
Senegalese sisters*
Thomas clueso Huebner still black
@@thatgwurlxam black is a dirty word
Or even sisters?
Thomas clueso Huebner how?
I was JUST talking to my little sister about my plans to move to NY & that she should join me when she graduates high school. I’m taking this as the ultimate sign. And to make things even crazier, we’re Senegalese too 😭 🇸🇳
I loved every minute of this video. Congrats to these hardworking sisters. I know their parents are beyond proud 💚💛❤️
🇸🇳🇸🇳 astou would you mind subscribing to my channel ? I’m Senegalese too 💗
Dina Tall I got you, boo ♥️
Astou Diop thank you gorgeous 🙈💗
If you need another sister I’m here and I’m moving back to NY! 😂
You can do it! If you have a game plan, and the consistency to follow through, it'll be possible. Live your best life, and enjoy your time in NYC!
I'm glad this one did not include the interviewee being wasteful with their money, being proud of not being able to cook, and living in a tiny apartment for $3000 a month. I think relative to what they make, they have a good balance.
They both have pretty hefty credit card balances for no reason it seems - wonder what they consist of.
between them they're spending $7500 a year on fashion and clothing ...
The younger sister said she literally never cooks
I loved this one! Down to earth and budget conscious!
It's probably because they grew up in Senegalese family. A lot of Senegalese people are so nice, humble and really hard working
What I love about them is how they take care of each other. The sister who makes more shares her resources with the sister who makes less. I am sure that if the shoe were on the other foot the other sister would do the same. They seem to support and love one another.
I just turned 23 today. And the sister is a political consultant at 23, making $65,000/year. I want to be her when I grow up.
Happy birthday 🎂🕶👠💄💄👠👠🕶🎂🍾🥂🍰💅🍻🍰🥂🍾

You're welcome!!!
Happy belated birthday!
@@4ElementGirl You're too sweet! Thx! 😄
Love that they support their parents and save via community banking system!!
Asians do the samething. That's why they have so many businesses. It's the same way the South Korean government and people pulled their country out of being a 3rd world country into a 1st world country.
how can u know that the community people wont take ur money? Theres no contract right?
What is the community banking system???
@@CallMeCarolyn it is about trust. Something that's very odd nowadays but still exist. There are people than can be trusted and are good at their word. My mom used to be in charge of this type of community savings and when it starts everyone agrees and picks a number as to the order of whom will receive the money first, second, third, etc. My mom really enjoyed being a part of this. It's a very cool way to have a good chunk of money when it's your turn to receive it.
This is how most people were able to save for homes, business and college. I'm more familiar with the term sooso. ( I'm sure I'm spelling it wrong)
They remind me of my sister. We’re only in college, still studying, but I have more money than my twin and I pay for most things and all the food. But there is 0 animosity because we’re sisters lol
My twin sister and I are like this also. Wishing you two well
That's amazing.
The same with my twin sister!
Omg I wish I had a twin lol! 😧😩
Lol same with my twin sister and I...we have an apt together
As a first generation African women in her late 20s this is probably one of the most relatable video of this series. I'm so proud of them and in awe... sort of wish I was in that space financially at my age (27) but I'm working on it. 🙏

Loved this! Also, anyone else low key jealous of the older sister's job? Love mine, but trying out and testing skincare and beauty products -- sign me up!! 😍
Alyssa Baybayan ikr!! I wanna do that
@Reema Ameer her sister is 5 years younger. She built up to that.
I met a chemist who works as head of innovation at burts bees and she literally got paid when she traveled to try other products abroad to watch the trends
I'm pretty sure this two are by far the more relatable ones I've seen of this series... Any food is fair game (as it should be! Food is to be shared! But to each their own), they give back to their parents when they can and don't spend ridiculous amounts. However, with no student debt, I feel like they should have more savings than that...
Skrooge Lantay you’re bitter. I hope you get well soon. Nicole, I TOTALLY agree. These girls are inpos for younger women like me :)
Yaaaassss they are the most relatable so far and they seem super likable.
They probably don’t have more in their savings because they were paying of their debt.
Nicole Barlaan I think what some people, or at least I do, I don’t put any money in my saving until I have little or no debt. I’d rather using that money that I could be saving to more quickly get rid of some debt. But is it good to save a little! 😊
The younger sister is saving fine. The older sister is blowing away money somewhere. No way should she be making $115k more with only $7k in her 401k. I had $75k after 8 years of making $55k per year.
So incredible to see such amazing black women.
*African

We call it a Pardna. Jamaican culture and its done in the UK amongst JA peeps here too - the community savings schemes.
SoFrolushes in Nigeria it’s called “Ajo” . 😀😀
I'm Jamaican and Ive never heard of this! I wish I had an in
its called a "sousou" in st. lucia and "throwing a box" in guyana
Haitiens call it soo soo
In a parnda you throw a hand or half a hand. You can pay into more hands, So if a hand is £20 you could pay £10 a week or more. Just depends on how much a hand is. Some hands are a lot more. Just depends on savings goals needs wants. You have to be able to trust the banker though.
Cute personalities. They are happy. Youthful spending mistakes but they will learn soon enough to save and invest more.
The sisters (especially the older sister who also has double the salary) should definitely start with ETF and low cost index funds NOW through Vanguard or Fidelity. Ive found that it is simple to sign up online. My fear of how to start made me procrastinate for years! Also IRAS and Roth IRAS are a good idea. Compounding earlier rather than later allows the magic of compounding to catapult retirement funds exponentially. Start with small amounts if necessary, preferably through payroll deduction (cant miss what you cant see) with set amounts or with percentages that you increase over time. This is the advice Id give to my younger self. No one told me in my youth. This is the advice I give to my daughter and younger coworkers. My only regret is not starting sooner in my 20's. Great on the sisterhood living arrangements and no college debt.
These Senegalese sisters are inspiring!! I also love how they give back to their parents, and I love their African traditions too. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Khan Academy has videos like these, but they actually interview people willing to share their salaries, education, budget, goals and how they got into their career. They're more in depth.
I love that they didn’t show their faces. Good job ladies!
The way they support one another is amazing
the older sister pays for dinner usually, respect.
❤
I live for these types of videos, Glamour Magazine. Keep ‘em coming! Thanks!
It’s cool how they’re a team.
Wow. You really are in every vid
Omg I see you everywhere!! You should be famous by now lol.
THIS WAS GREAT TO WATCH!!! I love how there’s a tradition to give back to their parents; we can never fully pay our parents back for their part in our child-rearing (I’m referring to those who had a significant role in their children’s lives), but we can endeavor to.
I also love the idea of the NATE, very practical.
Big ups to fellow West Africans (I’m representing Nigeria).
No kids, no student loans--- where is the saving?
Tamara Laird They contribute to a Nate, essentially a annual savings plan.
Tamara Laird ???
Having credit cards to accrue miles? Lol’ dumbest thing ever

$400 for that bird's of paradise? As a plant lady, she got ripped off! I will say i LOVE the pooling concept-- something many immigrant cultures do & we don't enough!
wowww the "Nate" concept is literally what we do in south asian communities!! so amazing that its a worldwide thing
115k salary with 7k in debt? WTF?
Credit card, are specifically made to put you in debt. Theirs no way around it
eprahs well of course that's false. Just pay your statement every month. Nothing hard about that if you don't spend money you dont have.
eprahs I have no credit card debt. Just student loan debt
@@eprahs1 It is for the financially responsible. You have to think of a credit card as a debit card. Using it for things you know you can pay off at the end of the month
...and barely anything in a 401k
I love this series so much!!! Every time I see one of these videos posted I get so excited!!
Thank you for this video! I enjoyed seeing a different cultural take on money!
No emergency fund????? You are smarter than that!

TheZoeBig Living in NYC is super expensive and taxes are high! $115k is not as much as one would think after state and local taxes (35% - 38% or higher) for unmarried, non-parent, renters. Nearly $3000 a month for rent. It’s tough. Taxes kill your income.
This is the most insightful budgeting to date. I love this and I feel incredibly inspired
I'm their long lost sister, thank you Glamour for finding them for me!
It's really sweet how you guys take care of each other and your family/community!
This apartment is so nice :) So bright!

Sisters growing together and helping each other out in life. Love it.!
um. Drop that recipe
Cleo Singleton just type Senegalese yasa and you’ll see the recipe it’s bomb🇸🇳❤️
When you are able to help your parents that's just a good feeling
How can you have credit card debt making 115k a year lol. And 7k, that's like 20 minutes
A&L Strarup Yeah, I thought they would have a lot more savings too. They have saved less than 10% of their salaries so far.
@@TheZoeBig They should have 3-6 months of expenses saved up as an emergency fund. Kind of bugs me that they choose people who has like 5000 in savings, $400 for retirement at age 32? tf? and pays off 231 dollars to student loans like urgh.
I was shocked that they have almost nothing in their 401K accounts. My husband and I are not much older than they are (we’re 30 and 31) and have A LOT more in each of our 401Ks. There is no way they are even maxing out the company match they would get.
@@TheDecoCottage Exactly. Max that baby out and put it in a good mutual fond. Split it across 4 sections, growth, growth & income, aggressive and international 25% each and you'll retire with dignity
Best of lucks to you two
They live in NY which isn’t cheap.
The sisters are cute. Love their relationship. You can tell they are level-headed and hardworking.
I see Brooklyn. I click. Gotta Rep the hometown.
what is like living there?! i want to move to new york so bad and brooklyn is so beautiful to me
I’m currently manifesting & focusing on my desires so watching videos like this just motivates me to keep going, thanks glamour! ✨
This is great insight for anyone
It was great watching this! I lived in Senegal last year! Love the fact they both make good money. I will say I think they need to have a lot more in their savings! Also, if they get Dave Ramesy intense that debt can be cleared sooner than later. Great feature. All the best ladies
Credit card debt... with their salaries... yikes.
Is that a lot of debt with regards to their salaries? Thanks
They both use their card for business expenditures. lt's reimbursed by their jobs.
3k is credit card debt at 65k salary isnt a big deal
points
As long as the debt is not something they can not pay in a reasonable time, then they are ok.
It means they keep their expenditures somewhat menial. I mean, they have to right? They live in NYC. ouch!
Inspirational. I love seeing black women do well. Hope to be there some day!

I liked this. Sweetest life setup to be able to love so comfortably in New York city is good, and I like that their lifestyle is based on synergy. Neither would be able to without the other
I love this, I love them! This was my older sister and I until she decided to start having babies and ruining EVERYTHINGGGGGG!!!!! 😩🤦🏾♀️😂😂😂
I love them. Great to see sisters bond like this.
If you’re gonna do two people can you put subtitles for who’s talking? It’s hard to keep up with who’s saying what about how much they spend, which is annoying especially since they have such a big pay gap
I like the way they operate. Smart and humble.
I love her voice.
This series is the best thing on youtube!!
I loved this one but these sisters need to get one of Suze Orman’s books ASAP.
3-7K in credit card debt is foolish
No true 8-12 month emergency fund
I think that not having student loan debt (when everyone else does) gives ppl the false sense that they are doing “better” when there are people with student loan debt who have no cc debt and a true emergency fund and 401K + additional savings/investments.
I think Suze would give these sisters a B-, maybe even a C.
Loved the decor douh
Wow! They are way more savvy with money and spending then I was at that age. I’m proud of them. Great job sisters!
Oh ok I thought they wil be living in fancy loft but it turns out they are wise

I'm confused. Where is their money going? I'm not judging. In fact most of their expenses seem to be pretty on point. But with them making so much money(especially the older sister) you'd think they'd have bigger savings.
Living in NYC is very expensive and taxes are high! A salary of $115k is not as much as people would think after federal, state and local taxes (35% - 38% or higher) for unmarried, non-parent, renters. Nearly $3,000 a month for rent. It’s tough. Taxes kill your income! Plus everything in NYC is more expensive: housing, insurance, transportation, entertainment, food. And by food I mean at the supermarket, not eating at restaurants. It’s very real in these NYC streets!
You have to understand in a lot of African families if you have two children that make a lot of money most likely just sending money to their parents she never explain where she goes oh she's travels most likely To Africa and I don't believe she's going to put that she has businesses there maybe
They definitely have some investment stacked in senegal believe that
They live in an expensive city. The other sister travels a lot and probably eats out a lot too. Those expenses stack up. They also probably financially support relatives back in senegal.
I think they are smarter than they show and keeping some details to themselves cause this doesn’t make any sense
I liked the ending when she walked into the closet. Like you guys used special effects to make her face blend into the darkness? Much success to you laddies!
