How far does a gallon go? I'm doing an 750ish gallon pond 4x8 inside pond diameter roughly little over 3 feet deep. How much would I need? Would a 45mil EPDM liner be a better option?

Great video, good info, I will be doing this soon to my little pond... I am using some retaining blocks for walls, they have been rain weathered, do you think it would be wise to use primer with the Herco? You said it would be wise to use primer if new concrete, but aged concrete blocks im curious about... Thanks for the vid..

hi, I have used it before without primer, and it has held up well. The purpose of the primer is to allow the rubber to bond better to the concrete. A gallon of primer goes a long way, as it is basically as thin as water. I have it, and use it when I need to paint a large area with the rubber (filter tanks, or piers for a deck or statue). I would recommend using it, one gallon may be enough to do your entire pond.

Are you familiar with a company named and product called Liquid Rubber? It sells for 99.00 a gallon. I'm not sure of the quality.

hi do you know if any epoxy a and b kit is fish safe ??? many on amazon but trying to find out if I could use one to touch up the pond shield I have been using as a few areas need a slight touch up. got some of the paint left but run out of the hardner. some non toxic kits are on amazon aimed for art related projects wonder if I could use one to finish off the pond shield project. I am building a box filter with pond shield.

I'm not sure, I've always used the pond shield, Hecht rubber, or the CIM membrane . I have not tried anything else.

I’m trying to resurface/paint an old concrete pond with old paint that is somewhat chipping away. Will these products work? Should I use the Herco primer?

These products will work, just make sure that the old surface is clean. The primer for the Herco coating is good to use as it helps the product to stick better. I have used it without primer, but if I'm doing something where I want to make sure of a good waterproof seal, like a concrete filter tank, I will use primer. You may want to use more than one coat of rubber as well. The primer goes a long way, as it is very watery. Try to remove as much of the old chipping paint as you can.

What about the color? Does it end up black? And what if you need it to end up white or blue? Can you put something like Scratch Kote 2000 on top of this? Great video though- thanks!

They all are a black color. I really don't know about applying something different in to. I never tried anything like that. The finish is very smooth and a bit glossy. Not sure how anything else yould stick to it, or how long before it would start peeling off.

pond armour is a epoxy plastic/resin not a rubber substance. its more like fibreglass than a rubber.

True, your right it does dry "harder" than rubber, but the application and use are the same. So I included it here in this video as a similar product.
