- One of my favorite songs of all-time from Dylan's seminal album "Blood on the Tracks" (1975). It's probably some of the best lyrics that I have ever read, and I first heard this tune when I was 14. It inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn how to play it, and I am still learning almost 40 years later--Tim.
Very nice job on this, Tim. Very Bob Dylanish for sure! - Glenn
Glenn, thank you so much for the RUclips love, lol. You are the best, my friend!
Well done, Tim. Nice highlights at 6:15 and 7:50. It seems that good lyrics are a thing of the past mostly. It’s the same with the songs I grew up with - a different culture and a different time too. The lyrics were just like life itself. Or maybe it's an illusiuon and there was nothing out there... The guitar strings are timeless though...
Thanks, my friend. This is a song that got me into playing guitar and trying to sing. Dylan has always been a massive inspiration for me. He really is such a profound lyricist, probably my favorite. Nobody writes songs like this any more; you are right about that--Tim.
Love your playing on this one, Tim.🎸
Thank you for the incredibly kind words. It is a song that means quite a lot to me, and I tried to serve it as best I could--Tim.
I hope you are still playing?
@@timtsh Absolutely. Keep thinking of uploading one of my simple covers here but haven't gotten around to it.😅 Also audio is no good when I record. Yours sounds great. Been loving your GDead covers lately.
Sarah, that is great to hear. You should upload something if you are comfortable doing it. I used my Android phone for quite awhile until I invested in a decent condenser mic (Audio Technica AT2020, around $130). You can buy a Blue Yeti condenser mic for around $100. I probably wouldn't spend money on anything cheaper than that because it's simply not worth it.
Thank you again for checking out any of my videos. I only make these for fun and to leave a musical record of myself for my teenage son. I am an old Deadhead, so playing those songs is pretty easy. I am working with my son on a couple Dead tunes that we will hopefully be posting soon.
Best wishes--Tim
