Steam Powered Freight Train on the GSMR - Test Run of 1702

- Prior to GSMR’s start of steam train operations, the GSMR steam crew made an unannounced test run of 2-8-0 1702 between the shop facility in Dillsboro and Bryson City. Included in the test run was GSMR’s four ballast hoppers and a Southern Railway bay window caboose. The Southern caboose was dropped in Bryson City for an upcoming Nantahala trip, however 1702 was turned and pulled the four ballast hoppers back towards Dillsboro. This made for a rather rare eastbound run with 1702 facing east. This surprise catch was unanticipated, but welcome either way.
NOTE The crew explained that there were still to be some cosmetic changes to 1702, so the engine as it is in the video will have some minor cosmetic changes prior to the inaugural run on Friday May 27, 2022. - Приколы
Wow, digging the new look and looking forward to seeing the other changes that going to be on 1702. Great video!
What an Absolutely Beautiful locomotive the new look is killer. Yes Sir she's a real head turner
Incredible catch there! This makes her old scheme look like old news. 😂 thanks for posting! 👍🏼
Great catches awesome chase and excellent video
Man I love the paint job that she has now. Looks very cool.
There should be photo charters like this test run
Great video
AM&W vibes, watching this kinda steamer pull weight in full color.
So what exactly was the test run for? Just a break-in for her after the winter, or did she get an overhaul?
Nice
Still no updates on 722 I’m assuming
At this moment, no.
At this point, if they ain’t gonna fix it, might as well just sell it.
If they dont want the 722 then why dont they sell it back to the Tennessee valley railroad museum :(
@@ToritheGSMR1702-mz3rc GSMR Originally Bought it from NS because they randomly owned it for the rest of its life from 1970 to 2000.
