I would add bankroll management as another "leak" - it isn't purely gameplay related, but I know some players who were slightly winning or break-even with a hot run at 10NL-25NL, who then took a shot at 50-100NL without enough of a bankroll to absorb variance. Even if they could beat the stake, it doesn't matter if you only have 10-20 buy-ins behind and lose it all in a bad run. You might also not play your best poker if you are worried due to having too much of your bankroll on the tables. 100NL needs enough money behind that a lot of people can't just reload after a bad run, like most recreational players at 10NL can.
I definitely agree about the importance of proper bankroll management. However, being too nitty with your bankroll is also a good way to stay traped in the micros longer than you should. Finding the right balance is important. I think the best way to do it is to be reasonably aggressive with your shot taking (but not completely kamikaze) and be willing to move down if it doesn't go well. The rule I personally use is to move up in stakes when I have 30 buy-ins and move back down if I drop below 25 buy-ins. So I would move up to 100NL when my bankroll passed the $3,000 mark and move back down to 50NL if it dropped below $2,500.
The biggest reason you’re not at 100NL is because you’re not treating the game like a professional on and off the tables. You aren’t holding yourself accountable to a consistent schedule that includes playing, studying, sleeping, exercise, and eating healthy.
There's that and also not having/developing the mental fortitude to withstand the inevitable downswings. IME the latter is probably the cause for why most players who could be winners don't make it. That was true of myself when I started playing after the poker boom. Played professionally for quite a while until I hit a 25 BI downswing that was taking a toll on me mentally.
Good thing I never planned on being a professional player. I just like playing tbh, getting in tough spots, trying to figure out the puzzle, with the added pressure of money on top of it.
@@jonathanhenderson9422yea for sure. People don’t quite understand how much variance actually exists in the game. Many of the live pros are where they are at simply because a run of good variance

Hello Carrot! I haven't played poker for more than 10 years, and six months ago I returned to it. I belong to the old school of poker, and for a while now, I've been learning all this new stuff. Your video popped up in my recommended, and I watched about 10 more. I want to thank you for everything you share publicly. You've gained a follower, and I wish you a lot of success at the table and beyond!
I go in and out of poker due to life being busy etc, but every time I come back I start with your content. I absolutely love your stuff man, it helps me tremendously. Breakeven at 100nl but getting there!
I just started playing online. Your videos has helped me get the confidence to start playing 25nl, I’m excited to use these to help me continue to move up! Thanks for all you do!
Very good content, for free. It is out of the box and presented in a cool way. I invested in my life several k$ for poker content and play live up to 10/25/50 and this channel provides a lot of value. Thank you!
In the 2nd hand you mention that recs lead turn vs flop check too often, which is true. My preferred way to exploit that is to always 2b turn when they lead, and then overbet basically any river unless I make middling SDV. Your database should show that this is a very high performing strategy vs fish
Nice video! The Villian's call frequency % in Neutral Spots in the table is just MDF right? Is there mass data analysis available for these neutral spots? And if so what is the actual defence freguency for neutral spots in the online pool depending on betsize? :)
How do you defeat set mines? That is basically the only thing I ever lose to, set mines and the odd 2 pair. Bricked draws obviously, but my main losses come from set mines. If I play like the other people say, basically I will never win more than 10bb in most pots, and maybe steal blinds a bunch. This is what is killing me, set mines.
I think if set mines, which are super rare, are killing your winrate, you probably aren't earning enough in all the other spots to withstand what is essentially a cooler.
Why do people always say "Well it's the small blind so keep in mind you'll have weaker hands". That' just doesn't apply to someone who flatted a 4 bet.
Are your course really aim for 3bb/100? Such winrate has variance graph all over the place after even 2 years of playing. Thats kind of super stressfull job for not that much profit.
@@Hw-xf6gs you do? Obviously you do otherwise you wouldn't waste your time watching the video and then making a negative comment. There are other videos for you to watch. Go away little boy.

Highly disagree. You dont need many buy ins. All you need is discipline/ability to move down in time :)
If you have too few you will find that the only way is down! @@vojtechmatulik1292

Editor accidentally quoted Pete as saying "don't fold when fish have pot the river" instead of "half pot the river"
I came here to say that.
It was not accidental, it was humour as Pete is a sweaty sock and that is how it sounds with their accent

Live poker and online are so vastly different. 2/5 live is often softer than 25nl or even 10nl
