Nah no way. If you have 1k hours game time and you're still in gold, that's just how it's gonna be. Quantity is a quality of its own.

Nah i was (probably)more than 1k hours in gold and just got to plat

Dude i am so happy because about a year ago i used to watch your videos absolutely mind blown when you hit these shots and now i can actually do them
Sure. Keep telling yourself that.
You dont have to necessarily practice, i mean its super good if you practice but if you just stick to your gut, and learn about each match while you play, you're gonna be better. I just hit a plateau in ranked and reached champ 1 just by playing matches and not going to freeplay to train. Guess its time to train or move on to the next game coz im happy where im at. As long as you're having fun thats all.
Trust me, you need mechanics lol. Especially in grand champ 3 2s lobbies. Your gut feeling can only take you so far. Watching showmatches and analyzing replays always helps. Also, doing a variety of training packs can really help.
@@Yute01 yeah my gut feeling could only take me to champ 1. I realoze i had to train to improve.
@@Rannayamada That's really good man. I don't want anyone to feel like they can't hit a certain rank. You could hit ssl man. If you have the right mindset, and train hard, you'll hit it.
@@Yute01 hahaha thanks. What matters the most is you enjoy the game for what it is first and foremost.
Yeah I’d say that’s true I never really practice and I’ve hit GC. My mechanics are absolute trash tho, but if I were to have practiced I would have got there sooner.
So I’m curious, what’s the average amount of hours it takes to get to diamond for a player, I just hit plat
i hit diamond at like 400
@@cheeks5988 I guess I got a ways to go then lol
@@Its_Argo yee lol plat to diamond was 10x harder then diamond to champ
I’m around 440 hours and have been diamond since 400. I’m now diamond 3 pushin to champ.
@@lukexu8597 wait fr? I’m plat with slightly over 50 hrs
It’s so true. I never practice. I just play the game and feel like I’ve plateau’d. I should be in the practice mode more, as boring and waste-of-time-feeling as it is.
Same but you won’t believe the change though. I started 2 months ago and just started using free play. Or whenever I’m having just an off day I play exhibition 1 v 4 against bots to help my overall gameplay. I can see myself getting better n better everyday
Or you can just have fun playing..
@@TizzTv that’s awesome! I still haven’t practiced mostly because I usually play other games these days, but whenever I come back to the game I do fine enough. Also nice that I play with a bud who carries me haha. He’s the striker and I’m actually surprisingly good at set ups
@@redization4396 the problem is actually winning makes it way more fun lmao
@@redization4396 well it matters if youre a casual player who mains other games but if RL is your main game then you probs wanna get better and not plateau
So underrated in yt
No. No he isnt
This Is Actually So True. I Was A Gold 3 For So Long, And Only A Few Weeks Ago Did I Hit Plat 2. Its Because Of The Amount Of Hours I Spent In Freeplay, And Using Training Packs To Improve Game Sense, Like My Positioning, And Learning Techniques Like Half-Flip And Fast Aerials.
Training packs dont improve game sense lul
Sure…made up crap yet again.
this was coldd 🥶🥶
I am gc if I keep still playing till now I would’ve probably able to make supersonic but my point is I loved playing freeplay better than actual game, I was watching squishy 20 min free play video and tryna be like him. It helped me learn how ball bounces in the game, which helped me able to guess where the ball goes so that I can hit the ball before opponent does. If you can do this you probably able to be in diamond without having knowledge of rotation.
I wish I had seen his reaction afterwards
He’s not lying. To be good on RL you gotta practice 10x more than playing games
So what you saying is every 1 hour you spend in game you gotta spend 100 hour in practice to have improvement? Nah man lmao nah
Isn’t playing the games, practice?

Me too but this guy is right. Play more in training packs and free play
The way he just hits those shots while talking

This helped me a lot Ty
I think if you are that low and stuck its more like you aren't thinking enough or are just terrible at videogames. Like if you just play ranked mindlessly you wont get much better, its the same for any skill. But if you are mindful, like trying things midgame and thinking about how to improve, you will. Practice lets you be mindful and experiment without any stakes nor risks, and more importantly, grind out tough mechanics, but you can technically still learn high level skills in matches.
I'm champ 1 in 2s and I've pretty much learned how to play exactly how you've said here I don't like doing training it's boring to me I only ever really do it when I'm waiting on someone but I solo queue 99% of the time, also my name is Sage.
Me: never does freelance
Also me: gc1 div 3 at the end of season 8
The perfect timing tho of the goal and the beatdrop💯
This is facts, when I was plat trying to get better I swear I didn’t even play comp. or anything but free play. I would freeplay for like 30 minutes to a hour before I’d play every time Or even more and it helped me so much. I crushed plat after that now I’m about to be champ one in 2s (this was a year ago when I was plat btw 😂) so it takes some time but don’t let the long grind make you feel like you can’t achieve it. You can!! Time and practice, if it’s a bad night then just don’t play
No.
I'm sorry, but that's just plain wrong
I have 1055 hours and I'm champ 2. I haven't put that much practice into mechanics at all. Wayton actually proved that you don't really need mechanics to rank up.
Watching gameplay of better players helps a lot. I watch pro gameplay a lot and it really helps to know what you're supposed to be doing and you can figure out what you're doing wrong and what holds you back in your games
Edit on 4th of januari:
After a spot on comment of another RL player (who's way better than I am), I will correct my statement and say you don't need *advanced* mechanics to rank up to say about champ 2-3. I also now realize that I probably completely misunderstood Tenacity and he's right, going into training is useful. Train basic aerials, fast aerials, powerful shots and accuracy. That'll get you far, but if you want to reach the absolute top, you'll have to spend a lot of time in training of course. Evample recommends the ceiling shot. "If you master the ceiling shot, it's unsavable", Evample said in one of his latest videos
There are some issues with what youre saying, I wont go into too much detail, but here is the gist: Wayton explains his beliefs as a means to an end. Mechanics are far more than flip resets or air dribbles. Im not saying that you need to base your playstyle off of your mechanics, but to say that you need none of the basic mecs that carry you out of the lower ranks is just plain wrong.
Secondly, mechanics are far, far more important the further you go upwards, you can get away without needing to double touch in a champ 2 lobby because you can break down the defence in much more simple ways. The higher you end up going the less mistakes your opponent will make, and consistent mechanics are easily the best way around solid rotational players. I treat it as a game of rock paper scissors, Mechanics beats positioning, positioning beats a player with average positioning and mechanics, and the average player will beat the mechanical one. (this is a general statement for obvious reasons)
Lastly, watching players of a higher level makes sense if you actually have the game sense or mechanical ability to replicate their moves.
Source; I am SSL on 1400hrs
@@eclipse3330 Yes of course, I 100% agree. If my comment made it sound like you don't need any mechanics at all, then I'm sorry, because that's not what I meant. Of course you need to be able to hit the ball! Now that I rewatch the clip and reread my comment with your reply in mind, I realize that I might've completely misunderstood Tenacity. I thought he meant go in freeplay and learn airdribbles or whatever, probably because he was doing a nice and mechanical shot at the same time. Now I see he probably meant stuff like hitting the ball, going for basic aerials and maybe training packs for fast aerials, shots and accuracy and stuff.
The reason I commented my other comment though, was because I never liked being in training, and I used to barely ever go in training. I went into freeplay during queues or just when I had a little bit of time to kill, but I never trained with a purpose. I used to just play and learn the mechanics ingame, so slowly improving over time in ranked.
Then for your other argument, yes, the higher you go, the more mechanics are involved and needed. I realize this since I've hit my skill ceiling at champ 2 (temporarily). I've started my grind for mechanics though, and I hope it'll be paying off in the future (although I know it might take some time lol)
Btw if I might ask, how did you train your mechanics? (My friends so far said rings maps for car control and dribble maps for ball control and when I have control, freeplay and try stuff)
Damn that’s tuff, I have like 700 hours and hit C3
So True I was playing training for 1hour in a half and it really helped me
Bro I train for 3 hours no improvement I guess I should just quit
One thing rust taught me. “Training” for a video game lol. Hit gc in under 500 hours. Free play and map packs and rings are the key to getting good at rocket league. Also maybe getting coached here and there.

Your so good your nice and you don’t start stuff you finish it
I finished ur mom
Just casually makes a shot I couldn't dream of doing
C1- C2 with no free play hrs. Just training packs. Everyone learns different. The key is to pick something and master it then try to learn the next thing. I would say at gold the best thing you can learn is proper rotation and placement on field. Also how to read the field and know when you need to be the one to pick up the slack or hang back and be 3rd man. Honestly the extra game modes are great too. Hockey forces you to play more ground game. Drop shot forces you to play off the wall and learn aerial control. Hoops is kinda in the middle of the 2........ rumble is just rumble its hard to gain any skill from it that would be useful in normal games.
My man tried to beat a new record
I spend 3x more in free play than in actual games Bc I have ranked anxiety lmaoo
that’s so real lmfao
True
That alpha boost blue clean
I have been doing that I just started playing again and picked up the game really quick
I have just under 250 hours and I am a high diamond without really using freeplay. Instead of just playing each game I try to focus on certain things to improve on each game. Even if it often leads to losing games.
What’s the name of this song
Dang that beat SLAPS!
Not really.
Over saturation ruins everything, which is what made this sound clip the most annoying garbage ever like all the rest of the spammed audio files. Id like to slap you for saying this trash slapped
Capish made it to champ with not much training but alot of in-game time
I usually play casual 1v1 to get warmed up and know how to manage my boost usage and know how to up my skills
I found going against unfair bots very helpful as a plat to help me stick with a faster diamond crowd. I bet that would help a hardstuck gold.
1. Defense. If you block a ball and it just falls in front of net. Here comes the other bot
2. Challenges. You'll begin seeing how they center the ball, and you'll be able to position to give a better 50.
3. Kickoffs. Hitting the ball well enough to beat the bot and have it go to their side, or loose it and have it go to back corner. Pretending your passing to teammate who we all know must get that boost instead of cheating up. Sometimes your gonna be back man, and both bots have the close position. So either you stay back and hope they don't pinch it. If they do it's gonna be a 80+ mph goal, unless you can save those. So it's another good defense drill.
Bro didn't even watch what he was doing 👀
alternatively you can do 1v1 casuals and just do whatever with another player who is also trying to chill
Im in the same situation but never know what to do in free play
I’m champ 2 and I’ve never played training just imagine where the ball will be in 2 bounces or where it will be after you and your opponents hit the ball
I practice before i go in games and i still do that thing you say when you go around the map when you are in your car
God damn that beat drop was clean
Beat drop fire😤🔥🔥
That was smooth
Nice shot
My best advice if you are in this situation is do the default training packs. Like play them until you can get all 10 on all star difficulty in aerial, goalie, and striker. I highly doubt there’s a gold that can do that. And if you can, then stop ball chasing and watch sunless khan video on 2s rotation
I have 200 hours and I’m champ one, the biggest part of my improvement is going for risky plays, don’t worry about winning in casual, focus on trying to hit weird and awkward plays
So clean
Omg man you make me sad when I watch you’re vids because one of my friend’s got his epic games acc banned and he was a champion but I still play with him and he never gives up it still is sad but he can go through it
Wtf are you on? What is sad about this??? If he was a champ why is it a struggle for him? Why do you care so much about the placement of some guy on a game? You need to get your priorities straight
Can you give me advice on air dribbles
It seriously is a night and day difference, I was low golds and I just did free play for a few weeks and went right up to low diamond, it gives you a lot of practice on basic movement and some mechanical practice too
Bro got a sky blue gold rush(alpha reward)
I find I just see myself flailing in practice mode and constantly resetting. I'm not currently seeing freeplay improve me, and I only just got slightly more co fident on aerial just after jump
Play the game and grind until you need mechanics, I barely use free play and got to diamond 3 and now I'm starting to practice my mechanics
I only played cas for like a whole 3 years and i wasnt a low rank i just learned to play incredibly smart yet most shots i could've hit i messed up alot, im now learning the more mechanical side to the game.
People misconcept that you need to play real games as well as train to be a good player.
The best advice I can give to anyone hard stuck under champ (and don’t want to practice, like me)
Just. Stop. Flying. Get better on the ground, noticing where people around you are, getting the first touch you want to start moving downfield. Get better at touching the ball and getting it to go where you want. Once you notice an improvement on that, or if you just really “feeeeeel it”, throw in some aerials.
Don’t practice. Shits boring, and I don’t even think it helps me since I’m not good enough to know what I’m bad at.
My biggest skill jump came from just hitting the ball in freeplay and trying to actually hit the ball where I want it to go.
The best drop = 🔥
The way he casually hit that
No way you are so good he is the goat
I mean I just hit D2 in 2's and won the diamond 2's tourney against a champ duo. I occasionally do training packs but everything useful Ive learnt outside of muscle memory is from real matches, learning how to read the ball, rotate and position, knowing how to boom it consistently.
bro treats 1s like freeplay
Yo how did you get that decal?
thanks for the advice
Thank you
bro got sky blue alpha boost lmao
I'm a hard stuck d3, and regardless of the results I am in training before and after every match but it feels like it's making me worse. Like it's taking away my game sense. Cause the difference between real games and Freeplay is no pressure on getting to ball quickly scoring quickly or missing.
Freeplay doesn’t affect game sense for me but it all depends on how you use it, I use freeplay for like 20 min before I play ranked and I warm up all different mechanics that I do in ranked like dribbles, power shots, aerials, flicks, speed etc. never just use freeplay to do air dribbles and freestyle shots before ranked, that’s what actually made me worse. I’m d3 too but I dont think I’m hardstuck, I’ve been d3 since July and To me that’s normal, before I expected stay in d3 for like 6 months cuz it took me about 4 months in d2. Maybe I’m progress slower than average but im fine with that. Soo how long have you been d3 ? Maybe you’re not hadstuck..
bro tena, once i get a new controller for christmas can you give me the best settings rn? and give me some coaching lessons? i’m like new in controller
That's true i play free play every time I get on and I practice air dribbles until I got one
Whoa!, you made that so simple!🤯
Him doing a flip reset and have no reaction 💀
I always find generic advice funny cause you have this advice, then if someone says they are stuck while having mechanics, then it turns to "you're more time practicing then you are playing, you see how many games I q in. Just do that"
That was crazy and btw how can i get that decal it looks crazy
decal pls
It is from Pulse I think but I’m not sure
