- Join me as I go to Sassanian Boulangerie and raise a bun maska dipped in Irani chai toast to the magnificent Iranis and their wonderful cafes that made tea an integral part of Mumbai’s identity.
We then head to Lucky Restaurant, Bandra, and discover that Mumbai’s beloved Irani chai is rather different from tea as it is served in Iran!
Iranians and tea go hand in hand, I can never forget their warmth when they were regular visitors here in Colombo. Their stalls always had a pot of tea brewing and a small jar of sugar cubes. They would offer piping hot tea to every customer who visited their stall. I can see why tea and Iranians blend so beautifully. To a tea addict watching tea rituals is very special and Yes I quite enjoyed their teas. Thank you for sharing this clip it does give a lot more understanding as to how much tea is a part of Iranian culture.
Thank you so much for sharing your real life experience. This adds so much depth to our understanding
Refreshing and well researched videos. Thank you

Thank you so much. This series is a tribute to the strong emotional attachment which India has with tea and I am glad that it is coming through

I strongly feel that the owner looks like Aamir khan 😅 at 4:59. Anyways enjoyed the episode. 👍
Glad you did. Won’t be surprised if he’s a customer. Salman Khan and his family have been long-standing patrons of their’s
@@finelychopped Ohh nice. 😊👍
Hi Kalyan ji,
Wonderful to see your content on Mumbai’s old Irani Cafe’s.
It’s my first time seeing your videos on youtube ( Anthony Bourdain being my icon)
I am avid travel & lifestyle content consumer.
My only request would be “ Eat more wholesomely, cherish the dishes, and please do talk in between while eating , you will definitely sound more genuine. The reluctant tiny winy bite of mawa cake says it all.
We are still learning so thanks for the feedback

Do well
Hello
Nice series. Can you share the addresses of these places in your description? That would really help.
Thank you. Will try to do so but till then you will find both on google maps
@@finelychopped Sure... but at least the location like "Lucky Restaurant, Bandra" should be mentioned. I didn't know Lucky was an Irani chai serving place and was wondering if it's the same Lucky. Is it?
@@postcardsfromj that’s a good point .
Will fix it in description
In Iran, we don't drink milk tea, I mean it's not very popular. Probably, this tea was made by Iranian immigrants in India, that's why it got the name Iranian
Please watch the episode
Almost all the Irani migrants came as refugees to India to flee religious persecution because of their Zorashtrian religion.

Irani tea has a different meaning in Hyderabad.. but I think it’s the best in the world..
Very distracting and disturbing background music.
Kindly refrain from using loud music of this type in your videos.
Thank you.
