What are your NASCAR predictions for 2024?
I expect that we’re going to hear a lot about Rockingham, Nashville Fairgrounds and Canada when the 2025 Schedule talks kick into high gear in the Summer. Can’t wait.
I expect it to be 3 races before you can tell Harvick is tired of Bowyer's antics.
I like the Bubba Wallace prediction. He didn’t win last year, but he quietly had the best season of his entire cup career statistically and finished 10th in the standings. I think big things are ahead for him and Reddick in the next few seasons.
Zero chance that Shane loses every Xfinity road course. My bet would be he wins more of them than AJ.
You nailed it with the last prediction. It's death, taxes and NASCAR fans complaining y'all
Boldest prediction here is definitely the bit about SVG going winless. 🤯 You're definitely right that Chitown was a perfect storm, but Gizzy can DEFINITELY put up a crooked number in Xfinity. I also think he wins an oval race!
I hope the Xfinity Series becomes the Busch Series again in 2025.
Odd prediction, I think Sam Mayer will make his Cup Series debut this year, perhaps on a road course or superspeedway, or maybe to substitute for an injured driver
I don't even look at the trucks as a lower level, it's a different thing in of itself. So, I think Deegan will find moderate success in a car rather than a truck. She won't win unless the plate races goes her way, but I don't think she'll be an embarrassment or anything. She's 22 in a sport where many people don't have consistent success until they're in their 30s
My prediction is all Hendrick cars will get a win before the Playoffs and Bubba gets into the playoffs with a win 1 only
My top 5 predictions for 2024:
I’m praying Indy is a great race as I’m going there for my birthday weekend.
I am in love with the 2024 schedule. Return on classics like Bristol Spring and Indy Oval, some of the new road courses as well as Chicago, and adding some short tracks with Iowa. It's like a perfect balance of old and new. I think we are in for an excellent season!
I agree with you on Bubba. Something about 23XI just screams they're due for a breakout, dominating year. It'd be cool to see both Bubba and Reddick have multi-win seasons and make a big showing in the playoffs.
I will say Alex Bowman will have a bounce back year. Last season was a tough one for him. I see him having a solid year. #6 is a given. SHR will struggle mightily in 2024.
Alex Bowman also had the Regular Season points lead before his injury in the beginning of the 2023 season, so I can definitely see a resurgence from him in '24.
I think Nascar's expansion international is inevitable. I think Puebla's oval is a viable option, as well as Interlagos and Buenos Aires for the South American audience or trying other international tracks to replace the Clash. I think the best tracks for Nascar to run at is Mt. Fuji, Kyalami, Inje Speedium in South Korea, the Nurburgring, Spa, and Brands Hatch.
Iceberg Go a Week Without Mentioning Chicagoland Challenge: Impossible
I expect both extreme highs and extreme lows this year for NASCAR. I think teams are going to play a big part in it with the charter system not being set in stone (and honestly it's going to split NASCAR's fan base in half if and when they protest) while races like Iowa and the Brickyard 400 will be smash hits on the ratings side. We could also see new teams in Cup and Xfinity and see some new star power emerge from the lower series this year (looking primarily at Toni Breidinger and Sean Hingorani). It's going to be difficult to tell how the year's going to go for NASCAR, but we'll know once the season gets underway how thing will look going forward.
