Cody is actually a martial artist according to his profile. He knows karate mixed with kickboxing, and street fighting. His crack kick was from his martial arts back ground. He just holds back with his street fighting. But when he fought Ryu he displayed some martial skill since he went all out.
I didn't think much of Cody Travers when he came to Shawshank; an irritating young fella, who had a thing for saying things like "Bingo!" and "Jackpot!" whenever he'd hit somebody. Months rolled by before he said two words to me, and those two words were: "HA-HA!"
It's amazing how much depth his character has He's my favorite. It's amazing with just playing the games and reading his back story I know and care alot more than the just the same 6 or 7 people that are ALWAYS in the movies.
For those who don't know about Cody's origins, it all started in Metro City, the setting of beat 'em up Final Fight. Cody, along with Guy (he was Cody's partner in Final Fight), drove out the Mad Gear gang, who kidnapped the Mayor's daughter, as Cody was the boyfriend of said daughter. ( Haggar is the mayor, for those who play MvC3. SOme other characters were added in previous SFs as well. ) However, Cody began to start fights, and at one point got into jail.
This song is so hype haha. During parties sometimes a couple of us guys will load up ssf4 for a bit and when this song kicks in, matches get crazy intense with everyone screaming and raving. We end up rematching almost ten times and I think this song takes credit for part of the reason.
Yes, Back in 1989 he was a Street Fighting hero in a classic beat-em up game called "Final Fight" it's usually a Street fighter "Spin off" that explains why you seen a few other "Final Fight" Characters in the Street Fighter Alpha Series like Guy, Sodom, & Rolento
Cody's my favorite guy in the whole game. He's the only actual Street Fighter in the whole series and one of the only ones with an actual story. I use him offensively, his moves are all strong and they can all break the focus attack easily. His style is up close and personal, you just gota know how to use his moves in good timing just like any other character.
The "Turn the beat back" is actually a reference to his infinite combo in the original Final Fight, where you could turn away after the first 2 punches and turn back indefinitely... It was a boss and crowd killer. Turn the Beat Back!
This is a very well composed piece, especially for this game. I mean, Street Fighter music is catchy, but I don't remember any of it ever being this dang good. They gave Cody a very nice theme. Makes me wish that we all had our own cool themes that we could listen to at will, depending on our moods or just what we like. xD
Charles Lee The only ones I play in English is Ken and Adon (sometimes), D.J. Deejay, Cody, Dante, Chris, Wesker, Cyborg... (Lol what if Deejay did really go by the name "D.J Deejay"? X) )
Yes he did. Cody (as well as guy) were originally from the Final Fight games. He was first included as a street fighter character in Street Fighter Alpha (great game btw)
-Ryu, Ken, Gouki, Oni, Sakura, Evil Ryu, Dan : "We have Hadoken !" -Guile : "I have Sonic Boom !" -Rose :"I have Soul Spark !" -Cody *picks up rock* : "You're all so cute...."
Those darn rocks are a lot harder to dodge, casts a lot faster yet hurts just as bad as a hadouken ball... I like this guy, no energy balls, no aura barriers, just technique and experience...nothing special but he can beat anybody... to top it all,, He FIGHTS WITH HIS HANDS CHAINED
i usually don't like rap-hiphop-beat-¨¨insert what kind of music you think this is¨¨ music but for this one... it proves that any music genre may have good songs. ;)
@SamusSuperStar why isn't this the number 1 top comment? it's perfect, it mentions the music itself, is a famous quote, applies to the video in question considering Cody's projectile, and even the quote itself fits considering Cody's story of being a hero who fought for justice but took the fall for a crime he didn't commit
@ZeroSonic360 I think he does when he grabs. He wraps the chain around the person's neck and throws them. If I were in a fight, wearing handcuffs like that would be a plus. It'd be great for choking someone out.
This sounds more hip-hop-ish to me. My fav so far. ;) Looks like those who dislike this, maybe they don't know about videogames or they care about too much music they like rather than others never experienced.
Actually he was in another final fight he was in, final fight revenge, which was released in arcades in 1999 and then on sega saturn in 2000, was actually the first fighting game he was featured in, and his story actually explains why he ended up in jail
Gotta like cody's breaking wall appearance in SSFVI intro. First Street Fighter game in 1987 Final fight 89 cody's first apperance 2010 time got turned back by cody and he gets his chance to break down a nostalgic wall. Final Fight Double Impact in 2010 capcom loves bringing the classics back and yes I'm trying to come up with a smartass comment that have the word "back" in it :P lol
8 reasons why Cody is the most awesome character in Street Fighter Series. 1. Ryu and Ken needed years to learn Hadouken...Cody destroys their training with a stone. 2. He keeps his cluffs to handicap himself to give others a chance. 3. He can transport a Pipe in an invisible bag und his back. 4.He tells other fighters the truth. '' Geez, you suck man'' 5. He's the only prisoner who goes back to jail by himself. 6.Even Chuck Norris is afraid of Cody 7.Coolest BGM 8.He's a true Street Fighter.
It's roots was chip tune from sf1 and 2. so I'd say they've more than gone back their roots. unless you're talking about 3S music. that's just one specific case
True story. I happen to be listening to this theme when a girl asked me what I was listening to. I gave her my headphones to listen feeling kinda embarassed I happen to be listening to game music at that exact moment. She said she really liked this song. :)
If you thought Ken's theme song from Street fighter 2, Kairi's and Gaurda's and skullomainia's and D. Dark's and Allen Snider's and M.Bison's theme songs, Akuma's and Charile's theme songs from alpha 2 and the intro song to third strike were epic, then add this song to the list of epic street fighter songs
Ryu did it for power.
Ken did it for fame.
Guile did it for revenge.
Guy did it for justice.
Cody did it for the lulz.
And then there’s Ibuki, she did it to get laid
Cody is actually a martial artist according to his profile. He knows karate mixed with kickboxing, and street fighting. His crack kick was from his martial arts back ground. He just holds back with his street fighting. But when he fought Ryu he displayed some martial skill since he went all out.
He's a brawler self taught but much like guy he adopts things
Guy originally had genryusai before zeku Cody and guy are sparring.partners
shadow moses Actually no. It’s confirmed Cody was a black belt in Karate before he street fought.
shadow moses It’s not confirmed if he was self-taught.
@@Shadowrulzalways final fight takes place 2 years before sf 2
Would someone just turn the friggin' beat back already?!
I mean he asked nicely almost 40 times in this song.
I'm late but I have confirmation SFV did, in fact, turn the beat back
Cody and Guy have the best themes in SF4, their themes don't bore the crap outta me, in fact they make me profoundly happy
I saved the city saved the girl but I couldn't save myself -
from hero to anti hero
I miss you. Shadow Moses
Is this the emo corner?
@@KarlTheKarl1 or have u ever played final fight get off my nutsack
shadow moses I was only kidding and I wouldn’t touch your nutsack with a barge pole 👌🏻
I absolutely love Cody's theme. It sounds like hip hop/RnB kinda mix in the theme. Compare to his alpha theme, I think this one sounds best for him.
I didn't think much of Cody Travers when he came to Shawshank; an irritating young fella, who had a thing for saying things like "Bingo!" and "Jackpot!" whenever he'd hit somebody.
Months rolled by before he said two words to me, and those two words were:
"HA-HA!"
that is one of the best theme in street fighter
It's amazing how much depth his character has He's my favorite. It's amazing with just playing the games and reading his back story I know and care alot more than the just the same 6 or 7 people that are ALWAYS in the movies.

35 people didn't know how to turn the beat back......
cody's not stuck to the handcuff, the handcuffs are stuck to him
Reminds me of good ol’ Soviet Russia
@Travisthemaxus2 thanks lol
@Travisthemaxus2 Godspeed, a pretty hard task though, if I’m being honest. Well, good luck ig.
@Travisthemaxus2 fair enough, but there’s a lot to get rid of, so that’s why I’d say it’s challenging
@Travisthemaxus2 true that (though I thought you said it was easy)
cody is the only fighter I can think of that actually fights with a handicap lol.
Oro and Akuma.
+SheninMKA akuma?
Dylan Francois In SF3 Akuma limits his power to give his opponents a chance.
SageSF3 unless you set the difficulty to 8
Russell Sutherland ryu fights while. Also struggling to keep the Dark Hadou in check.
This song is so hype haha. During parties sometimes a couple of us guys will load up ssf4 for a bit and when this song kicks in, matches get crazy intense with everyone screaming and raving. We end up rematching almost ten times and I think this song takes credit for part of the reason.
BINGO! HAHA! You're making me sleepy. Crash! Get outta my face! We done practicing now? HAHA!
you're boring the crap outta me, you ready to start fighting for real?
sam chan JACKPOT
Ah-ha!
And this fits Cody amazingly well. Has that urban and "dark" feel to it.
Turn the beef black
***** u need to use propane
License to grill, bro!
Can;t unhear this now.
GingerBOT
That's a clean burning Hell, I tell you what!
ElecFlare people be ready for beef. even guy and cody had beef. they be brawling still
Yes,

one of the coolest themes for Super
*Nigga Stone**
Giving me headaches since Alpha 3
Jin? Street Fighter? what xD
Resolving my gangsta problems in da hood, preparing myself for a engineering course,
this song just put me in the mood
"You're making me sleepy"
The "Turn the beat back" is actually a reference to his infinite combo in the original Final Fight, where you could turn away after the first 2 punches and turn back indefinitely... It was a boss and crowd killer. Turn the Beat Back!
Ryu:After so many years of training I have finally perfected my Hadouken!
Witness your own demise!
*cody throws stone* = /
ryu : D:
def one of the best themes in 4
This is a very well composed piece, especially for this game. I mean, Street Fighter music is catchy, but I don't remember any of it ever being this dang good. They gave Cody a very nice theme. Makes me wish that we all had our own cool themes that we could listen to at will, depending on our moods or just what we like. xD
Cody definately one of the most slept on charcters i'm glad SSF4 gave him the exposure he deserves and they gave him a badass theme
Anyone notice how ripped cody is.....does he ever stop for an icecream break?
lonewolfcharles he lives in a prison cell
No
Stx JoJo *lived
in SF5 he’s a mayor lol
Cody came from Final Fight then to street fighter, Cody is a very underated fighter but he makes a great addition to alpha and SSF4
longest handcuff chains eveeeeer
This track suprised me. I couldnt believe it when i did his rival battle. I'm glad they did this
So where do I turn the beat?
Awesome theme! Cody rules lol, love that tornado uppercut move(forgot the name of it)
HAHA! HAHA!HAHA! HAHA! *phew* HAHA! HAHA! HAHA! *phew* HAHA! HAHA!
CRIMINALUPPER! HAHA-fshh-You ready to start fighting for real? JACKPOT!
The only Street Fighter I would play in the english language lol
Sai Kisaragi yeah, he sounds like a child in Japanese. Play him in English. (Hakan and Dudley, too)
Charles Lee The only ones I play in English is Ken and Adon (sometimes), D.J. Deejay, Cody, Dante, Chris, Wesker, Cyborg...
(Lol what if Deejay did really go by the name "D.J Deejay"? X) )
Sai Kisaragi I play all those u mentioned plus haggar in english. I do play dante in japanese though
Made me laugh.
When you have been fighting since your childhood fighting can become something to ease your boredom
a remix of the intro of final fight
Yes he did. Cody (as well as guy) were originally from the Final Fight games. He was first included as a street fighter character in Street Fighter Alpha (great game btw)
I approve of this intro
this beat is alot cody my fav ssf4 character n i would love 2 use dis beat on a track
Not gonna lie, this sounds like a Knuckles version of Mystic Cave from Sonic 2 lol
Now I can hear it, lol
capcom do tend to have similar beats
Cody and Guy are of my favorite street fighter characters
-Ryu, Ken, Gouki, Oni, Sakura, Evil Ryu, Dan : "We have Hadoken !"
-Guile : "I have Sonic Boom !"
-Rose :"I have Soul Spark !"
-Cody *picks up rock* : "You're all so cute...."
Dan have Gadouken
Man this theme is so Tragic and Dark at the same time
Badass too can't forget badass
Ryu: Hadoken!!
Cody: Rocks!!! haha oh you want some i got plently of em
*K.O's ryu with rock*
Cody: Your boring the crap out me
Cody would own prison
I'm a Vega User, and I LOVE fighting codys. Such a challenge.
Those darn rocks are a lot harder to dodge, casts a lot faster yet hurts just as bad as a hadouken ball... I like this guy, no energy balls, no aura barriers, just technique and experience...nothing special but he can beat anybody... to top it all,,
He FIGHTS WITH HIS HANDS CHAINED
i usually don't like rap-hiphop-beat-¨¨insert what kind of music you think this is¨¨ music but for this one... it proves that any music genre may have good songs. ;)
this fits in with the amazing music from 3rd strike
that was an amazing soundtrack
@MagneteMan Its a remix of the opening from the first Final Fight. You can hear it at certain parts
I liked this theme but then I heard it while in game and it's WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY BETTER to hear while fighting in dem streets!
Of all the fighters in this game I have more in common with cody. His fighting style and attitude remind of me when I was in high school.
YES! This is great for this playlist.
Man I love this song!
Its a remix of the title into of the game. When they show Haggar answer his phone gettin the news about his daughter.
5:44
Cody is so great because he has no fancy powers... except superhuman strength and tornado-creating punches.
I like to listen to this theme while im studying
One of my Favorite Super SF4 themes. It fits Cody well.
OMFG! THIS IS THE BEST THEME BESIDES THIS CHARACTER IS THE MORE I LIKE TO CHOOSE IT!
@BlueEye096 It is also because this theme is the title screen theme for Final Fight.
@DarthJones55
It's based off of the song on the introduction sequence when Haggar is talking with Damnd on the phone after they've captured Jessica.
this is actually the best theme for super street fighter 4. and my best character. ps3!
Damn....this guy is a beast.
Epic to play as, hard to beat. Ofc, in good hands.
@SamusSuperStar why isn't this the number 1 top comment? it's perfect, it mentions the music itself, is a famous quote, applies to the video in question considering Cody's projectile, and even the quote itself fits considering Cody's story of being a hero who fought for justice but took the fall for a crime he didn't commit
omg i love this soundtrack
Cody FTW !
Turn The Beat Back !!!
When I hear this I think the voice actor of Cody is saying "Turn the Beat Back!"
After listen this theme 9000 times, now I get the final fight reference '~.~
@NioYagami
makes the fact that he can hang with all the super powered characters all the more impressive.
Actually he was in another final fight he was in, final fight revenge, which was released in arcades in 1999 and then on sega saturn in 2000, was actually the first fighting game he was featured in, and his story actually explains why he ended up in jail
The song lasts for almost 6 minutes (probably the longest Street Fighter theme ever made) yet I still wish it was longer
Am I the only one?
''Turn the beat back''
does he refer to his famous glitch in final fight xD
RESPECT CODY, THE MASTER OF THE SS FIGHTER 4!
Probably the coolest track in the game....
Gotta like cody's breaking wall appearance in SSFVI intro.
First Street Fighter game in 1987
Final fight 89 cody's first apperance
2010 time got turned back by cody and he gets his chance to break down a nostalgic wall.
Final Fight Double Impact in 2010
capcom loves bringing the classics back and yes I'm trying to come up with a smartass comment that have the word "back" in it :P lol
Cody`s theme ROCKs!
Love this, such a dope beat!
@DevinHades Its a mix of this and Guy's theme. Also the first stage of Final Fight 1.
8 reasons why Cody is the most awesome character in Street Fighter Series.
1. Ryu and Ken needed years to learn Hadouken...Cody destroys their training with a stone.

whenever i listen to this theme i go to my ps3 and start playing final fight double impact.shit this game never gets old!
I can never finish the song, because every time i hear him say "turn the beat back" I turn the beat back. All the way to the beginning.
liked the dude from the first final fight and STILL do. Cody's the shit. awesome remake of the song too
This is the best soundtrack in the game, imo. Didn't know it was Cody's. Amazing track.
this is great!
You say he counters Ryu, Ken, Dan, Gouki, and Akuma's fireballs with a rock.... FREAKING... ROCK. T____T *Cody lives on!*
It's roots was chip tune from sf1 and 2. so I'd say they've more than gone back their roots. unless you're talking about 3S music. that's just one specific case
"Well, that certainly did something about my boredom."
@PMxImpactx93 12. He carries a knife with him, but throws it down first before choosing whether or not to pick it up.
Cody is bringing the "Street" back to Street Fighter
This theme is Hot!!! dont know if the original sounded anything like this
0:00 ~ 5:57 Favorite part
SIMPITER LOVES THIS AND CHEMIE LABORKY
True story. I happen to be listening to this theme when a girl asked me what I was listening to. I gave her my headphones to listen feeling kinda embarassed I happen to be listening to game music at that exact moment. She said she really liked this song. :)

Playing SSF4 when this is in the background makes the game so much better
gotta love juri and cody matches. so much constant laughing.
Song is thug, like Cody. He's a bad ass. my favorite toon in FF when i was kid and glad I get to use him in SSFIV
