This is one of my personal favourite rival matches. Old friends just catching up by sparing with each other. It's just nice to see their friendship hasn't changed much since they went their separate ways. Don't you agree?
I believe most people fail to realize, like Joe Delgado here, that Cody is probably one of the strongest characters in the Street Fighter series. As emphasized in many of Cody's quotes, he's practically beaten Guy multiple times, if not all times, before when they've fought. He says " Feels familiar, right? " and " Just like old times. " when you beat Guy. Plus, he has no formal martial arts training AND he wheres handcuffs to restrain himself in order for a challenge. Not only that, but Oni acknowledges his strength and restraints on his strength, saying that he would be able to survive a battle with him if he didn't hold back. Now THAT'S some TRUE strength. He even insults his strength after defeating him, unlike other character's who admire how strong he was. Cody fought for the good of the city and others and gets thrown into prison for doing so(or rather relating to it) and he puts up with the shit. If anything, he should be ALLOWED to get our of prison for a while, free of charge. Honestly, I think Cody is a pretty formidable character within the Street Fighter series and goes deeper into what people think about him from just playing the games he's in.
i agree with you on the fact that Cody is incredibly strong, but he can't be released from jail because he's the "prime suspect" in the disappearance of his girlfriend. A plot that was all organized by Poison

I know kickboxing and JKD. Cody was a black belt in karate since he was 6. Watch The Fighters Den channel. He has a video of Axel Stone vs Cody Travers. He shows there profile and explains there background.
Reading the description...I find it hard to call Cody a dirty fighter when he won't even break outta those cuffs and as a matter of fact restricts his movements so he doesn't break them. Yeah he throws dirt and rocks but considering everyone else is shooting fireballs and energy blasts, I'd say that evens the score.

SHIN ONI even said Cody could survive a battle with him if he didn't hold back. Oni's not canon sure but the devs are saying alot about Cody's potential with that. Cody with cuffs seems to be Guy's equal, All out Cody COULD be better than Guy. Unless Guy holds back too.

If anything, Guy is a stronger fighter due to the fact he's parried a Shun Goku Satsu from Evil Ryu without breaking a sweat, canonically Cody hasn't shown any prowess similar aside from almost beating Ryu.
