30:21 It would be cool to have an electric RC handy that has some type of "latching arm"?, that you could use to go out, latch on, and tow your Nitro back, once it runs out of fuel.
Dude I’m with you. I tune it till it sounds and runs good. They will run for a long time. Then you get a new engine if it goes bad in ten years 😂 No sense in running it so rich that you can’t even have fun. Good job buddy 🤙
Sounds like you got the tune pretty close to spot on. It does seem to be idling a little fast, if that's where you like it then it's fine. I run mine a little lower than that, they cool off faster when idling slower, and clutch grabs a little better when the RPMs are farther below the stall speed. But I agree it should not stall out for more than 45 seconds to a minute. And generally when they stall from idling then it's idling too low. Great video, and as long as you're enjoying that truck, that's all that matters. Happy New Year bro
Your commentary on tuning is very informative for me. I need to drag my Revo 3.3 out & get it running again. I let it sit, with fuel in it, in my garage in 115-125 degree temps during the summer. I'll probably have to replace fuel tank and lines & clean out engine & carb. Glad to see you back on the nitros!
I also have been letting my Revo sit for a long time watching this video wants to make me get my nitro cars going again. Thank you Earl for the inspiration
Love the t-maxx 3.3 had mine for 4years now. just did a tear down, did both diffs and regearing. Mine smokes like a banshee, but I know its well lubed lol. I use the same fuel. Mine starts everytime, best nitro i've owned. I agree, tune it to your liking
I think you're tuning just fine, Earl. It is supposed to stay running, lol. Everyone who runs nitro thinks they are an expert.Do what you and the car you're running are happy with.
I like vp fuel but i have to order it on line because the local hobby shop doesn't carry it but they do have sidewinder fuel that's what i use instead of the traxxas.
Bad things with an external mic makes it seem louder or high on the idle it’s really at a good spot in person you would agree nitro content hard as the Camara’s are different then in person 👍
Thanks! Great video Earl I love the sound of nitro 👍👊

28:08 there is always the tune police on patrol 🤣🤣. People are always ready to strike behind the keyboard

Another level of wrenching and tuning lol which is also fun

10:24 that is true with. 2 stroke gas not with nitro. Your idle is perfect
Happy new year Earl enjoy watching your videos

Hi earl happy new year! Is the traxxas revo 3.3 a good starter nitro rc? The jato 3.3 is discontinued here in the uk
Happy New Year 🎉🎉
I like vp fuel but i have to order it on line because the local hobby shop doesn't carry it but they do have sidewinder fuel that's what i use instead of the traxxas.
Earl where are you from? Love the RC content but want to know more about your love for BMW’s I’m a Traxxas fan boy and a big E34 guy
California my love for a straight six is why I’m into bmw e46 platforms
You can try the pinch test too. Pinch the fuel line and see how long it takes to shut off.
It’s in the video
@@earlmoorhead5555oh haha my bad. I messaged you before i finished the video.
@ all good 👍
2025 The Year for all nitros and tunning.😊
Yep, everyone tunes different and pulls the trigger different.
Do these run like 2 stroke engines 🤔
Somewhat more of a diesel set up but the fuel is the
Lubricant and the glow plugs the igniter 👍
Courius to know, what are your temps ? I had the first T MAX that was under powered.
Don’t see to many people flying those old go pro drones, I was thinking about getting one of those back in like 2017 but got a mavic pro instead
I use VP Racing Fuels 20percent nitro 9 percent oil.
I’m 20%16% oil
Making T-MAXX great again. Thanks Earl.
I love the monster truck look 👀 everyone should have a tmaxx and xmaxx for all around experience of rc 👍💯
@earlmoorhead5555 some here. I glad you are doing some nitro videos. Hope nitros make a comeback.
Earl do you still go to the bmx track?
Yep
Happy new year Earl, sounding like its ok to me, I started with Nitro back in the 80s lol, the new boys only know plug n play electric 😂
Yes ur good on the tune but turn down the idle screw just a tat bit n it should be good
Bad things with an external mic makes it seem louder or high on the idle it’s really at a good spot in person you would agree nitro content hard as the Camara’s are different then in person 👍
Tell them it's not supposed to run like a weed eater earl! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍🤟😎👽🛸
Seems like nitro rcs are a thing of the past... Most peeps in my area only play with electric RCs 🤷🏼
First 🎉
Happy new year 🎉
Happy new years brother we survived another one 💯🙃
