Another tip I should add here is that your perfect contour shade should be the same shade as the shadows on your face and neck. Lighter skintones (depending on the undertone) would get greyish shadows hence why they need a grey toned contour. This tip really helped me in finding my contour colour
I disagree with the second girl's tips. This is not to be pretentious, but to help people with similar noses. If you conter the bridge of your nose to make it looks smaller, you're back to square one. The smaller bridge in comparison to the base of your nose will make the base look big. It doesn't really fix the "issue". It just makes your overall nose look a bit smaller in proportion to your face, but still bulbous. If that's what you're going for, then there is no need to change your routine. If you want your nose to look less bulbous, put foundation over the bridge of the nose so it blends into the rest of the face. Then use a lighter color on the side of the nose to brighten the sides up. Then you contour only the tip of your nose. Do a very small amount. I like to add blush on the tip after. This way, you get a baby-like button nose. There is no bridge, but your nose looks cute like a little bunny. I'm black so this is what I do. I get a lot of compliments when I do it. I embrace the shape of my nose and try to highlight the cute parts of it. To me, bigger noses look weird when you try to contour the bridge. It makes it look broader and kinda manly.
yesss I do this too !!!! I just draw a circle around the tip of my nose with contour, blend, and put blush either right on the tip or underneath. it enhances the natural nose shape really well :)
i have a thin nose bridge but bulbous nose, wide alar. so, what i do (it realllllyyyyyy works trust me) 1) my nose bridge is thin, so i have to widen it. shade the area BESIDE the nose bridge (not on the nose bridge itself, the skin at the sides of the nose bridge). this will make your nose bridge wider, which is good for those with too thin nose bridge note: the ratio of the thickness of my nose tip to nose bridge is 3:1. yes, that’s how horrible it is. 2) i narrow the alar by shading the ‘wings’ of my nose tip. 3) once step 1 and 2 is done, the nose bridge and the alar should look more aligned in thickness. next, fix the bulbous tip of the nose by contouring the sides of the nose tip. NOTE: DO NOT shade your nose tip too thinly. if u do that, it will make your nose tip look even bigger. shade your nose tip so that it matches the same thickness as your nose bridge. (TIP: shade from outside to inside. start shading widely, and then slowly narrow your shading until you’re satisfied my biggest mistake as a newbie: shading my nose tip too thinly. i always though having a small nose tip = shading thin. NO, you should try shading widely.
@@ViciousStarlet first start off drawing/shading vertically (both the nose bridge and nose tip) and blend out horizontally outwards to create a natural shadow. - start out vertically so the contour 'shape' is straightened, especially when fixing asymmetrical nose shape - do not contour horizontally as your contour might become messy or muddy
Wide noses are actually interesting because the give the face a strong and a deeper look that attracts you. Meanwhile thinner nose gives a delicate touch that balance the face and makes you focus on the eyes more . I mean you can feel what I'm saying

I disagree for only using a gray toned contour. The contour u should be using is the one according to ur undertones, so like for me I have a warm skin tone so I would use brown, but if you have a cooler tone use gray. If you don’t go by these rules your face will look dirty.
@@honestlywhat6085 The same applies. use a neutral color, but with a more greyed undertone since shadows are grey. When we contour, we are trying to emulate the natural shadow of people with the bone structure we want. If you can't find a neutral color, a grey color will be the next best thing.
Your contour color essentially is just adding grey to ur original skintone since ur shadow is definitely grey. If u r of deeper complexion definitely choose brown but a grey-ish toned brown.
