Hi guys, we’ve read through some of your comments and noticed that you guys used the photo contrast setting method to identify your visual weight. Please bear in mind that this method is not recommended❌❌❌ There are many factors (mentioned at 1:55 ) which might lead to incorrect judgement. Apologies if we haven’t made it clear enough… Thank you 🍑
I finally understood why makeup looks different for me 😢. I have high visual weight that even putting eyeliner makes me look like I’m ready to throw water on someone’s face. Light, pinks and glittery makeup somehow tones down the intense features I have and this explains that. Thank you ❤
I'm the same, I have to wear light looks otherwise it overwhelms my face. I could never wear a defined lip, for example, because it makes me look too harsh, so I've always opted for the rosebud lip look in either light or dark shades.
@@peachesandcream8753 Me too! Romand lippies and the revlon glass shine are my recent go to. Love em! Lipstick somehow looks bad on me. However, a french look with red lipstick does wonders when I dress up on dates.
Your concepts are smart. It helped me understand the deeper insights of how to enhance my natural look and that there are various aspects of beauty and styling. Keep up the good work!♡
Not to nitpick but it's not their "concept" if you meant it as in "theory". Like they said in the beginning of the video, this detailed concept and trend is from the chinese beauty forum. What this channel actually do is collecting beauty theory trends (mostly from the little red book/chinese beauty forums), organizing them, and translating them, which is nice for those who don't understand the language or just want to have the summary like me.
as someone with high visual weight, i noticed that with clothes it’s better to go for simpler designs. flowery and too flouncy designs tend to be distracting and will make me look messy.
I have high visual weight and i don't like it because my preferred aesthetic is cute. I've noticed i do look a lot better when i don't wear makeup. I stopped contouring because my face is already extremely contoured and i look a lot better now. I now also only wear lipstick the same color as my natural lips or just wear lip gloss. Less really is more.
Same here .. I always wondered why I look bad after makeup … I stopped doing eye makeup years back … I only wear one neutral shade of lipstick that’s it ..
Ahh this explains why I don't like nude lipcolors on me! Most of my facial features have high visual weight, but my lips have less visual weight, so I need a color that will balance my lips with my other features.
1. volume and color intensity of features 2. proportion of face to features. smaller face (canvas has higher visual weight. 3. higher contrast features more visual weight 4. prominent bone structure, higher visual weight 5. compactness of facial proportion. closer set more visual weight. lower visual weight 1. maintain light airiness of features - delicate, airy, relaxed, natural 2. increase visual presence of features higher visual weight 1. create warm and amiable impression 2. enhance visual appeal of well-defined features
Thought watching these videos would help me know how to get prettier but the more I analyse my facial features the more I realise how ugly I am and all the girls I find pretty have the features I don't😭 and the results always disappoint me cause I always get what I don't like. Now I don't have hopes anymore that I'll get prettier cause I hate my natural face and the makeup that suit me is natural. Not only I feel ugly but I've realised that I can't fix it with makeup :(
I have high visual weight so when I look at the mirror I always go "oh my god! I do have a face!" and I tend to notice that on other people too. I have a friend who has very harmonious face, like your eyes just naturally flow over her features, and I'm pretty sure she's low visual height
If i put too much contrast on my pic, my eyes looks so dark. I have low visual weight. Not sharp nose, dimple, roundish face, people called me high school student (i'm 24). Some girl complained me when my foundie is too thick or my lipstick to dark. I'll stay minimalist feminime make up then. Being feminime and cute is already my aesthetic.
Oh my godd Finally 😭, I've been struggling about my visual weight I don't know how many times There are days I thought I had low and then the other a higher visual weight 🤣
oh god i’m confusing myself. I have very distinct features, Very prominent eyes, eyebrow, nose area + shadow. Bigger lips. However my face isn’t super chiseled. I have high cheekbones but I wouldn’t say they’re clearly defined and even though my nose is forward projecting it’s wider. my face shape is small relative to the features i have. most of this would suggest low visual weight However… i’m SO SOOO baby faced. part of the reason my face is so small relative to my features is that my chin is not large. i have the most classic oval face shape. Does all this just mean medium visual weight ? I have naturally curly hair i would like to wear natural most of the time too. ahhh.
If anyone wants a low visual weight hair color but unique, light pink is good for low visual weight, if you have light skin and pink lips. It will match your lip color, so it will distribute the pink hue evenly giving a low visual weight
according to this I think I have high visual weight features? I've always thought that black mascara and eyeliner look bad on me because i thought my features were too soft to handle it. but maybe its the opposite? these videos always leave me confused because I have no idea how my face looks. I always just think it looks like something in the middle.
In someway...yes. low visual weight type of beauty is the one that is relaxing and dreamy to look at,and higher visual weight are those who catch your attetion for the first sight(that's why westerners like it).
Is it possible to have medium visual weight? My features look good in both high and low contrast, I did your self test on tik tok and i got two b's and two a's. Some of my features look more prominent and some less.
I have a low visual weight, which makes sense to me why I tend to gravitate towards light makeup, minimal and chic clothing, and soft wavy hair. Whenever I try to wear heavy makeup or even just bold eye makeup, it feels and looks too much and unnatural.
Same with me!! I went to a makeup artist for the first time to get my makeup done for graduation, and she did a really heavy eye makeup for me, i liked it at the time because it was so different from i usually do, but when i look back at the pictures i realised it didn't suit me at all and looked too much
notes for self! i have an absolute high visual weight! things to keep in mind: avoid too many eye makeup, do natural earthy earth tone eyeshadows. simple & solid colours clothing. dramatic yet bushy and natural eyebrows. don't too dark the eyebrows. darker earthy lip colors. light colored tshirts. no dress atau suits cus too formal. rounded lipss and long wavy hair!
I knew right away that I am high visual weight, but comparing the 2 types explains why I think a lot of Korean girls can pull off a red lip during the day and it looks very nice but somehow not over done, whereas on me red lips are definitely a look (which really sucks because red as a color suits me really well). To tone this down I've been wearing a sheer red lip color blended out at the edges.
I faced the same problem as you with the red lips. It just felt like they were too overwhelming and stood out. I tried more muted and cool colours and applied them softly using a gradient-ish technique and red finally looked good on me
Same!! But it does look nice blotted c: I want to be a girl who wears dark lips without looking goth, but this sort of explains why it doesn't work like that!!!
I definitely have low visual weight. even wearing just a lipstick looks too much and too flashy on my face. wearing eyeliner and doing eyebrows looks too sketchy. but using full coverage base and concealer makes my face look like a pancake. I've tried many makeup styles but none look flattering on me. the best look I've discovered for me is a baby powder that brightens my face, concealing my smile lines and dark circles and using light brown eyeshadow. and for lips, just use dim/natural colours or a lip gloss with slightest tint of deep red. and some light blush across my cheeks and nose.
I don't fully conceal my darks circles either because it takes off the 'volume' of my face and makes me look 2D. I rather conceal the area around my nose and lips.
I still feel confused about my face, from the front my face is very flat, but from the side I have prominent lips and nose. From the front my features are soft but from the side they're very elongated! I can't decide if I'm soft or intense
I am always seemingly in the middle of every categorization. I'm a pale olive neutral skintone with low contrast and mid visual weight. I can pull either off
@@starminoui it's very hard for me to tell because I look very different from one day to the next. I do tend to sway more toward styling for high visual weight so either way while I may be in the middle somewhere I do think it leans that way.
Goodness, you're brilliant, thank you! Your 96 body shapes and visual weight for the face are a game changer!! Helped sooo much. Thank you!! I would like to see some make up tutorials for wide spread eyes ahahah (dunno what you call them right) and longer faces. Cause I see a lot of small round faces with wide spread eyes, which then look cure. But if the face is on the longer side it's quite complex. Thank you again
I am average at everything...included visual weight. Neither low nor high. Hair color is neither dark nor light. Skin neither cool nor warm. Height neither tall nor short. Breast neither big nor small. I feel cursed...
Objectively I am so freaking ugly and it hurts really bad. I’ve tried to work with it my entire life and have learned a lot but it gets so much harder with age.
Is it possible to have a video for medium visual weight ? Based on the analyze I've made I seem to have a mix of both, the upper part of my face have high visual weight (big eyes with thick eyeslashes and eyebrows), plus I have a small face and a higher degree of forward projection. But at the same time my face looks rounded, I have small lips and I have wider set features. So now I don't know what I should do :((
I think some of you might have misunderstood what dear peachie is trying to convey about the BW filter / adjusting contrast trick to determine your face visual weight. They meant to say that this trick is not preferred ❌ because it’s not accurate due to a few reasons mentioned in the video. Am I right?? Or I am the one who misunderstood this? 🤔
I think I have low visual weight! I was always told I’d look bad with bangs because I have a small forehead but ever since I got curtain bangs I’ve gotten more compliments than ever before, and since last year I’ve also found I look better in more brown toned makeup than black and grey ones. I always thought my skin looked dull in dark and high contrast colored clothing and I couldn’t figure out why but now it makes sense! I look better in pastels and light cool colors, which is a bit unfortunate because I don’t have that many light color clothing items in my wardrobe and I can’t afford to buy new clothes 😭
I still don’t know 😭 I like low weight styles the most. I think I might be high weight but my bone structure and cheeks look more like the low weight pictures…. it’s tricky. After many years I think last year I found what works for me, but I find that it’s a combination of what is recommended for high and low weight. I wish it was clearer. For other people I think it’s really easy to tell for some but not others.
Hey, I love your channel! I've always been kind of obsessed with the "science" behind what makes people look better and what doesn't. But I've been wondering, where did you learn about everything? Did you just notice it or have you studied styling?
I’m quite aware of how to make my features work for me so it turns out that I’m already using the two methods for low visual weight faces, but it’s still very interesting how you always give such detailed explanations
I have high visual weight so when I put a b&w filter it usually looks much better when I've lowered the contrast since it reduces the intensity of my features. The things you mentioned in the hwv part are so relatable when I do my make-up and what kind of colours I'm drawn to. It's nice to see I've somehow adapted to my own natural beauty enhancing tactics and your video confirmed + added a lot of things I do/will do from now on. Thanks a lot!
Could you please make a video about girls with masculine features and what style suits them best? many of us are insecure for having them because we do not have feminine features or low visual weight like Asians that everything suits them
I think that I'm somewhere in the middle? My eyes are big and round and dark (high visual weight), the nose is rounded but high (I'd still consider it high visual weight), the lips are full and prominent, brows are thick too. But the bone structure is rounded/soft, no jawline or cheekbones in sight 😂 so idk how to categorize me
would love more videos on how to style high visual weight; I'm korean and there aren't a lot of other koreans with such prominent features like me so it's hard to figure out my style
Someone help please I don't understand it at all. I have wide face shape with feathers centered in the middle, the same as the duck on the big canvas image . Is it low or high weight?
Based on the examples I would guess I’m in between possibly low weight leaning. I know I can pull off both the cute look and the sexy look I just prefer the cute so I look younger and not as mature.
Ok but these videos of your's are so informative and useful not only for makeup but art as well. Well, i do think that makeup is similar to painting portraits in a way. I like how I can use these tips in both real life and my drawings
hi! loved the video but i have a request for a future one! idk if you've already done this in the past but due to it's popularity rising again I think it'll be helpful if you did a color palette/seasonal colors video to help us pick our colors and be able to look better
I have a high nose bridge but the rest of my features are very round and soft especially my cheeks. I still dont really know if im a low or high visual weight.
It's so pleasant to watch your videos guys! They are clever and honest, and you're always kind, respectful and good-hearted. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and make us more confident with ourselves by encouraging us to try what we prefer! Your advices are always gentle, it's so refreshing 🥰
Lmao i thought I was a low visual weight until I watched the video the 10th time carefully 😭 I got high visual weight in all, I was gaslighting myself into thinking I'm a low
I have absolutely no idea of what is my visual weight 😢 my nose is sharp like the girl on the left at 0:46 but all my other facial features are smooth like the girl on the right PLZ HELP ME
I find it amazing how your descriptions of the personality types that go with each visual weight and two ways of styling them are so accurate. Just like in your other videos with personal color, color tone, face shape, and so on. These things are always so accurate for me. It almost makes me wonder if there is a genetic component linking certain physical traits to personality traits.
Hope this helps because this video was very confusing for me. I had to watch 3 times to get the concept but I finally got it. In another video someone explained that low visual is cute vs high visual being striking. Also, you need to note if you get compliments on one particular feature on your face, then there is a high chance that you might be high visual. Take a minute and Think about Angelina Jolie. What are you likely to remember about her face first without looking at her picture. Her lips or jawline first I'd guess. High Visual. Your eyes carry a lot of the visual weight. How round or narrow they are. The sharpness of the bone structure plays a role too. Lastly, how compact are your features compared to the rest of the "space" left on the face.
I hate my baby face. It doesn’t match my aesthetic at all (dark) and it makes me look too harsh but I hate the soft girl look with a passion. Some people just can’t win 😭
I often gravitated toward european makeup looks due to my nose, brows, and lips although i look more asian as a whole. I,ve been wanting to look gentle for a while and have been experimenting. This is so helpful.
This is my favorite channel. Can you explain us the Cat pretty, Deer pretty, Bunny pretty, and the Fox pretty? I’m really confused between Fox and Deer
Could you please include more diverse examples in your videos? I noticed that you primarily showcase White and/or East Asian women, but you have Black viewers, Latina viewers, South Asian viewers, etc.
In my opinion, the difference beauty between both is high weight beauty is the type of beauty that comes from the the first sight, therefore low weight beauty usually i find them have beautiful and cute when they are smiling…

Where would we be without dear peachie
i have high visual weight, honestly i’m not a fan of it but i’ll work with it
I have it too, but I find it really cool and magnetic.
@@jiarendoesntcare same lol my mind doing my makeup: "enhance! Enhance! ENHANCE!"
Wow I totally thought I would have high visual weight but I have low and the tips u gave suit me so much 😍😍😍
You have no idea how I look forward to your new video, always!
Could you please make a video about girls with masculine features and what style suits them best? many of us are insecure for having them because we do not have feminine features or low visual weight like Asians that everything suits them
They already made it:)). The video is called facial gender, I think it may be divided in two parts (masculine and femenine)
@@nilla13gamer72 I know but I hardly mention masculine traits and talk very little about high visual weight with these traits
@@f.juliethmartinezperez5023 I see your point, just told you in case you didn't know
Not all Asians have low visual weight lmao
I have light features with heavy bone structure💀
bro same 😭😭😭 im just combining tips at this point
Medium visual weight
I think that I'm somewhere in the middle? My eyes are big and round and dark (high visual weight), the nose is rounded but high (I'd still consider it high visual weight), the lips are full and prominent, brows are thick too. But the bone structure is rounded/soft, no jawline or cheekbones in sight 😂 so idk how to categorize me
This is exactly my issue too! I have features like that too so I feel like I’m in the middle!
I think if you are in the middle that means your face is versatile and you can pull off both high and low visual weight looks
would love more videos on how to style high visual weight; I'm korean and there aren't a lot of other koreans with such prominent features like me so it's hard to figure out my style
This video was much needed. Thanks for your clarification. ✨🌸
Do not stop these videos Peachie !
I watched this video 3 times still can't understand what visual i have 🙂
I have a high nose bridge but the rest of my features are very round and soft especially my cheeks.
You have no idea how much i needed this video. Thank you
Lmao i thought I was a low visual weight until I watched the video the 10th time carefully 😭
I got high visual weight in all, I was gaslighting myself into thinking I'm a low
😂😂😂😂
So basically
High visual weight - light, warm makeup
Low visual weight - "sharp" makeup? darker idk
Im high visual weight :')
All these women in this video have face jobs. Botox, jaw lines, eyelid etc. So i do not think it is clear.
Lastly, how compact are your features compared to the rest of the "space" left on the face.
hey babe wake up! new dear peachie video just dropped!!
It could be cool, if you give some examples of high weight visuals and low weight visuals. More. It could be really helpful
I hate my baby face. It doesn’t match my aesthetic at all (dark) and it makes me look too harsh but I hate the soft girl look with a passion. Some people just can’t win 😭
Me! I have such soft and round features and i just wanna be able to pull off more of the dark, goth vibes with strong features
I often gravitated toward european makeup looks due to my nose, brows, and lips although i look more asian as a whole. I,ve been wanting to look gentle for a while and have been experimenting. This is so helpful.
Please can anybody recommend red head shade for warm high visual? Tomorrow I am gonna dye my hair for a prom
This is my favorite channel. Can you explain us the Cat pretty, Deer pretty, Bunny pretty, and the Fox pretty? I’m really confused between Fox and Deer
My english is broke I'm crying in many language rn
Could you please include more diverse examples in your videos? I noticed that you primarily showcase White and/or East Asian women, but you have Black viewers, Latina viewers, South Asian viewers, etc.
In my opinion, the difference beauty between both is high weight beauty is the type of beauty that comes from the the first sight, therefore low weight beauty usually i find them have beautiful and cute when they are smiling…
