The design flaw on this is that there should be a forward blowing air that would prevent the debris to get kicked back behind the unit. Good idea but could have been implemented better.
Although this is a wonderful idea, it is far to slow to be profitable if used as part of a service. I climb up my ladder and use a telescopic extension pole connected to a gutter cleaning hook. I then pull all the leaves and debris towards me. Using my glove covered hand I reach inside the gutter and grab a handful of leaves etc and put them inside a plastic bag I have tied to the top of the ladder. Once everything has been cleared from inside the guttering I then run my hose pipe to the inside of the guttering and wash away any small bits of dirt that has been left over. I check for any leaks and repair if necessary. I then clean up any mess made and take all the leaves etc away with me to be deposited into a compost heap. The end result is completely clean and fully functioning guttering and I would have left the property long before this robot finishes making a mess everywhere.
whats point if u have get up ladder to put in gutter u might as well get rod and just clean gutter yourself and piss down the downpipe to make sure its clear
dan spears Well, do you want to climb up one ladder and drop it in or climb on on 50 ladders and clean every bit of it yourself? Is not breaking your neck worth $300?
It all depends on the placement of the gutter. If it is at a hard to reach place (too high or you for some reason cannot put up a ladder at the spot), than the Looj is a perfect product. If you can easily reach all the gutters from a small ladder than you really don't need a tool.
I have the frist gen and love it. It will clean far better due to my gutter flat bottom. I have a 4 corner roof so i can lock my ladder in on a corner. And send the robot down. I have soft Unlevel ground so getting my extension ladder stable is near impossible. And going up on the roof at 280lbs to clean out the gutters will add where and tare to the roof. All other gutter cleaners fail to do the job my first gen 120 out preformed them all. I will be getting the 330 as my first gen is brakeing down.
You should have had the propellers rotating in the opposite direction. As you had it, most of the debris were just banging up against the roofing and ricocheting right back into the gutter.
what do you do if you have the type of gutters that have the horizontal cross braces ?You'd have to keep moving the thing over them. You might as well just do it yourself
would love to know how this is superior to a pressure washer with an extension and a hook. And wouldn't it be better to run it the other way so it is thowing it out of the trough instead of under the tile edge.
This robot doesn't look like it would save much time and looks like you have to reset it to go over your gutters a couple of times and you're still climbing up and down ladders.
Not fast enough? You dont have to sit there and watch it. Just set it in and then periodicaly check it while you are mowing the grass or raking leaves. I dont know what it wa snot cleaning as well as other videos from real users I ahve seen other than it seems thse are wide and deep and the over hang of the tile is more than many roofs. Also it DOES spin either direction.
The iRobot looj is not designed for gutters with a curved bottom-it is designed for flat bottom gutters only-I own both models. If it was, the tracks would be angled / \
The thing seems to be designed for American style gutters with a squarish cross section and not for European style round ones. That's why the cattterpillars can't get a good grip and the poor robot keeps turning. Round gutters would require a different propulsion design.
For those of us who are 60+, getting up on a ladder multiple times to clean one and two-story high gutters is NOT an option. Some of us actually can't afford to pay someone to do it for us. This is a great option, though pricey. I can easily rake up the "mess" on the ground.
AliceIW get a couple of rods u dont have to keep getting up ladder ,this device is an anti bomb device that got blown up so now people being told to use on their gutters
I think it works good. If the dude working it in this video would allow it to go forward and not back in forth it would be just fine. The back and forth motion is just rediculious.
+samantha “ThePrd2bamerican” york The back and forth motion is just rediculious. No it is not. If there is a lot of dirt, that mode is most efficient. If desired, one can select a straight forward motion.
+samantha “ThePrd2bamerican” york - he was going back and forth because it was not doing a good job at clearing the dried up leaves. Look around the 4min. mark to see how much was left, after going back and forth with the unit.
No it was going back and forth because that’s what the device does if you press “clean” on the remote. It’s part of the cycle. He wasn’t controlling it at all.
Yea, not impressed you have to climb up to place the robot in the gutter and watch it while it takes forever and flops around. Not to mention the mess on the ground. Better off with a pair of gloves and a trash bag.🙄 I don't see the point.. Looks like a waste something to accumulate dust in the garage.
At this rate/speed it's faster to do it yourself. This robot is bad.. very bad.. It's far from a viable solution. I would call it more "a work in progress", than a finished product. It's shit..
Rich lazy people would hire a real person to clean their gutters. Sure they would pay below minimum wage and it would be a poor day laborer or a dumb kid who should view the experience of child labor as a learning experience and not a civil rights violation. But no rich lazy people would not buy this. This is something a lazy bachelor would buy to add to his collection of robots. Like his dishwashing robot, his pizza making robot. he pays to deliver fresh but mostly cold pizza twice a week, which is programmed using an app called papa John's. The bachelor.also has a tempracture controlling robot that is installed in the ceiling of almost every room of his home. This robot manipulates the themprahure by actuating four to about six extreme weather panels that rotate in 1080 degrees. Which is over three times as many degrees as last generations stupid 360 degrees Its manually controlled using either a pull chain or a control panel that can also command said robot to roboticly turn on and off the lights. Isn't technology wonderful!? Buy more robots at icrap dot com.

I'm impressed. What an excellent and job it performs well.

Bought mine on eBay for $120 and love it. Way cheaper then on amazon

Poor thing, it looks like it's suffering...
I imagine this works better on gutters with flat bottoms and not rounded like this. Thanks for the video!

Great vid to demo what not to purchase -- thx
Cheers
Was going to get one till i seen this video thanks
Same here. I could have used a leaf blower and done an entire house before the robot finished just a small section
looks like it leaves the biggest mess to clean up after
Easier than cleaning the same mess out of a gutter 15 feet in the air
you have to tie a rope to it so when it gets stuck you can pull it back. it gets stuck a lot. Because the gutters are old.
Excellent review, maybe not the best product but the review is spot on
What a fantastic toy!
Does it not spin the other direction instead of towards the house away from the house?
you are silly aren't you... just turn it around have have it run from the other side and it will be spinning the other way.... use your brain silly.
You are right. The operator has selected the wrong direction of rotation. I have one myself, and it is pretty efficient.
what do you do if you have the type of gutters that have the horizontal cross braces ?You'd have to keep moving the thing over them. You might as well just do it yourself
it goes under them. At least with most gutter types. Check out other videos

Yeah, it has a button on the remote to reverse the head. Guess he wasn't smart enough to blow it the right way?

doesnt unblock the downpipes!
you set going the wrong way, should be left to right

What a strange alternative purpose for a sex toy.
:D :D :D
OK, now they need a hook on an AR Drone to deploy it in to the gutter. I hate extension ladders.

Who is Geff on tech trends, on the radio?

Looj the Motion Picture. This would should get a wide release and you don't even have to pay the actor!
your brush head is spinning in the wrong direction during your whole video...
If you watch it .25 speed you will see it is spinning correctly. Even without doing that the debris is flying up and out, away from the roof.
SUPER DING !!! Läuft ja wie ARSCH !!!
Debris still remain on the gutter so really its pointless
Take a week to do the gutters
thats a round gutter, it's not made for that
man, there are so many thing s wrong with this
The gutters are too wide, that's why its flopping around.

Don't run one of these if you have jack russels, the dogs will hear it inside the house and think it's some kind of animal and go ballistic!
Or just train your dogs better. Sorry not sorry.
Oddly enough, the directions say don't get the unit wet. The last few frames show the person spraying it down with a water hose.
Worthless product. Just use your hands and it would be done faster and cleaner.
Oh, this is not the tool.
I can do a faster, better, & easier job than this waste of $. Either the non lazy way, with hose, or blower.

plus then you have to pick up all the trash it through down to the ground from the gutters... totally not worth it.
