So as you know, the Inquiry Class ship from the final episode of Star Trek Picard was brought to Star Trek Online. Unfortunately, it was stuck behind the R&D Promo Box when, in my and many others opinion, it should've been put in the C-Store. Because of this, I was not going to do a video featuring it.
But Duncan Idaho on Twitter shared this kitbash of the Inquiry Class that was pretty close looking, and better looking using the Regent Class. So, I thought I would showcase that in this video, and not the gamble box version.

i agree it should have been put into the C-Store.
this just tells me that the Devs and CBS have lost the head in greed, the Inquiry isnt even a hero ship.. and putting it in the R&D was "biting the hand that feeds them"

I really hate how they made a faction ship that's seen in large numbers a stupid promo. Especially during when everyone is tight on money
I know, right. It's ridiculous, and a little ironic, how the ship that's been jokingly called the USS Copy-and-Paste is going to be one of the all-time rarest ships in Star Trek Online thanks to it being a promo ship.
And then they make the Red Angel armor (a one of a kind item in canon) and give it to everyone as the event reward. Madness I say.

@@chill_will9816 I feel like one of a kind canon items should be the ones in the promos and the ships...At least mainline faction ships...should be in the C-Store.
I love both versions, but I wish the acutal ship was in the Zen Store and not as a part of a bloody R&D bundle, anybody else?
YES, I’m an arbiter player, and I’ve got the equipment loaded for her (cloak, VATA, Ablative Shielding, etc,) but I can’t get the special equipment from the inquiry to complete my set :(
I mean. Seriously, they'd make way more money if the ships were in the C-Store I think. Because more people would be inclined to buy them if it was guaranteed.
Never fear I'm sure they will be building a $300 mudd bundle around it and the Rommie Dailhkawhatever any time now. Call it the Picard Dementia of Doom bundle.
This is a damn fine looking ship! She is beautiful. I'd be proud to serve on her.

I want to know what low IQ person decided to call a battlecruiser the Inquiry class. Sounds like it should be more of a research ship.
Yeah they should have actually called it the Zheng He class (the guy was into big fleets) which would have worked better, On-TV ships I think can't quite go with the aggressive names like Avenger
It's not entirely inconsistent with Starfleet's ironic naming conventions. They did call a heavy cruiser class "the ambassador"
Its called the Inquiry class because its used to inquire about why possible belligerents are trying to start shit with the Federation.

Never understood forward swept nacelle pylons. They were going to used for sovereign class, but the production people behind first contact wisely decided against it since it made the ship look like a rotisserie chicken. Only time forward swept pylons are appropriate is if they're going to be attached to the rear section of each nacelles
It looks very nice, but I have the soft spot for original design from ST:PIC. I'd love another video dedicated to it, but with the original.

That thing actually looks even better than the ship in the show and the lockbox variant imo. The version in the show even reminded me of an STO kitbash ship from begin with.

The Regent class they used is the refit tier 5 version of the Sovereign. So that would be the basis for it really. Sovereign+1. There are also two varieties of Tier 6 Sovereign with Intel and Command seating. (And then Fleet versions of those. So they could be considered Sovereign +2 and +3. Refits and improvements for better handling the more violent times that befall Starfleet. (War with the Klingons, Undine, Iconians and Hur'Q etc.
Can't beat the orgainal Inquery, thats a skin nd takes away the special look of the famous inquiry class battle cruiser in my opinion

My guess is the Inquiry Class is meant to be a standardized vessel of the line, not unlike the Excelsior and Miranda were, the Akira is.
I think that's why I weirdly like it. I love the Excelsior too. The Inquiry class kind of screams workhorse to me like the Excelsior and Miranda do

A better design than the actual Inquiry
As a pilot, I appreciate the flashing lights, but I do miss seeing red and green navigation lights too.
Aren't the red and green lights still located on the top of the Nacelles?
They're there on the saucer near the edges about midpoint port and starboard, but they're kinda hard to spot. There's also a set on top of the nacelles near the Bussard collectors. I'm ex-Navy so I'm all about those port and starboard running lights.😉

The video is nice, but the ship? Looks like a mix of the regent and the gagarin class. I stay by my Odyssey and Buran Class.

The Constitution class bottom sensor dome looks rather strange on a 24th century vessel.
The ship from the promo box is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I saw one parked next to my Gagarin and they were pretty much the same size. I guess that's why they had so many of them in the show. The deflector dish is the real let down visually to it though. It's so lazy. I think I made the better investment with the Gagarin over this.

Imperial class. Only way to get them is T6 Fleet Sovereign or the Legendary Sovereign

The Inquiry-class is an incredibly ugly ship anyway. This kitbash isn't the prettiest ship either, but with that proper deflector dish she still looks better than the real Inquiry. Nice work.
