God, this really is a hero ship. It looks so. DAMN. GOOD in everything. Like, even the ones I'm 'meh' on are more dissappointed that they didn't pop more. Even the breen shield looks so damn good on this ship, it's disgustingly sexy.
A Luna class that, according to the novels, gets into as much shenanigans as the Enterprise D - and was supposedly even more advanced than the Intrepid class. The listed size of Riker's ships says it's allegedly bigger than the Intrepid Class, yet smaller than the Galaxy Class. LaForge getting a Galaxy class ship would fit him as an Engineering Captain quite well because he knows exactly what his ship can do inside-out. Supposedly, any new ship technologies from newer classes are trickled down to older classes via internal (and sometimes external) refits whenever possible. At the time of Riker's posting, the Luna Class was fresh off the shipyards - making it one of the most advanced ships alongside the Prometheus Class when it came out. Instead of a pure warship, though, it's a multi-role vessel - much like the bigger Galaxy Class. The Tech manual published about the Galaxy class Enterprise D states that the ship is highly internally modular - so any advancements in the future can be easily given to that ship without much fuss by parts swapping. This explains why the ship in the TNG show even has a different style bridge in later seasons, they swapped the entire bridge module for a new one because it went through an internal refit.
Feels like an updated version of the Discovery. I'm digging it.

If you own the Mirror Luna you can use the mirror skin on any of the hull variants. It looks really neat!
