Of course his auto was not even present when I was stopped to begin with. But, I had rolled my window down (not knowing what he needed). I politely said I had been waiting to pull into this space. Yeah this saved me from getting boxed in by a road rager who caught up to me at a red light when I was passing through an unfamiliar city once. They were definitely trying hard to get me because I hopped a curb to get away and they hopped the curb to continue pursuing me. But if I pulled all the way up to the car in front of me and the car behind me did the same that vehicle could've just pulled up beside me and who ever was in it could've just hopped out and been right there or worse they could've shot me while I was standing still I have no idea cause they had a dark tint

Not strictly road rage, but similar: I was in a sports car once (an older Corvette, which where I live are fairly common) and a jeep full of teenagers began following me. They were revving their engine, insulting, and gesturing rudely. They followed me for over a mile, until I was close to my home. I decided not to show where I live, and kept driving. I drove around and around (basically in a square) until they got frustrated/bored, and drove off. I didn't get out of my car or go home until they left. He says @ 0:17 "One of the most dangerous places we will be in is our car". True but many don't realize (in many US states) your car is considered your "castle" and you may defend yourself like you would in your home. So if someone breaks the glass and tries to grab you, I recommend self defense!
"I will never choose law over my life and especially my family's" that is pure fact. Good tips! I strive to be gracious giving grace to other drivers because I have know idea what they are going through. For example, this month my dad got in an accident for the first time in over 50 years because my mom/his wife had just died. Luckily, he just turned too sharp and hit a stop sign in a Walmart parking lot, so no one was hurt. However, it was a good reminder to me that anyone I encounter on the road could be having the worst day of their life. Giving others grace doesn’t cost me anything and allows me to practice living by my values.
Good advice. I get road rage sometimes (don’t get out of my car type thing) I yell at stupid people I need to a better job of it based on your points in here.
I am a former patrolman and detective of a large-ish metropolitan department. Everything you have on this topic is useful and like you, I wish more people had the self-confidence to just say no. One thing that could be mentioned more often is to stay back from the car to your front. Regarding a safer distance from the car to your front, if you cannot see (without straining) where the back tires are contacting the pavement, you're too close. This is even more important today because the amount of "acceptable" violence has never returned to normal since the George Floyd Riots of 2020. Prior to those events, I relied on avoidance to keep me out of trouble. In January of 2021, I was startled to see an enraged driver bail out of the car in front and start moving back towards me. The distance between us allowed me a moment to consider a course of action. At first, I just backed up the car until I ran out of room. When he began to trot after me in pursuit, I realized that avoidance wasn't going to work. I reached down and drew a pistol from my ankle holster. My pursuer noticed my movement and stopped dead in his tracks. Then he turned and ran back to his car and drove off. So I would add keeping your distance (as much as possible) to your next highway safety film.
This is why I no longer travel by car to or through large cities like Chicago. You just never know when and where trouble might break out and even on the freeway you are not safe. There's been numerous instances where mobs have swarmed the Interstates. I'm even cautious about going downtown in some of the smaller cities. Now I fly as much as possible when I have to travel. You're much safer in the airport even with all the TSA hassle!
@@wm.courtney9114 THANK YOU FOR THAT. EVEN IF PEOPLE KNOW THAT, IT'S EASY TO FORGET. IT BEARS REPEATING AND REMINDING OURSELVES. KEEP THE DOORS LOCKED, TOO.
A past coworker/friend who was into the martial arts gave me some good advice. Walk away if possible & be a good witness. Also, I think about “taking the bait” & not doing something stupid. Spending time in prison is not my idea of a good time!
If it isn't road rage and aggressive driving, it's completely distracted drivers whose minds are on everything but driving. It's a jungle out there. All the tips and protective devices that were shown are worth implementing every single day. Thanks again!
Sound advice. I was involved in an incident once on my way home from a hunting trip. A guy failed to overtake and tried to confront me at a red light. His body language showed that he was out for violence. I made sure that there was no traffic on the crossing road, ran the red light and took two turns in case the guy would pursue. Like you said, just not worth it. The spike would not be legal to carry around here. A tactical pen is. So the pen is what I carry. It may not perforate as well but it can surely break the metacarpals or cause real pain when used against nerves. LEOs wont even ask I carry a sturdy pen. Often situations can be defused easily. I had situations with merging lanes where the other driver was right to my right side trying to merge and getting tense. Easing the pressure on the pedal and waving to invite to merge works fine. Most of the drivers make a thank you gesture after merging.
So true in Canada BOTH DRIVERS...the merger notices the speed of the main road AND KEEPS IN HIS ACCERATION LANE ❤TO THE END❤ (THIS KEEPS THE FLOW GOING FOR THE OTHER VEHICLES ALSO WANTING TO MERGE)....like a grand march at the end for folding into the main road vehicles.) THUS the vehicles ON THE MAIN ROAD NEED TO ALLOW ROOM FOR ONE VEHICLE AT A TIME TO MERGE...AT THE END OF THE MERGE LANE.❤EDIQUETTE HAPPENS❤!❤FLOW CONTINUES SMOOTHLY❤....no butting in's take place and no forcing into small allowance spaces either.
In most states (I believe) the Castle Doctrine applies to your vehicle. If they break the window you can use considerable force to defend yourself and your passengers.
Dash cam, dash cam, dash cam. They are used extensively all over the world but Americans seem to have missed the memo. Their usefulness extends far beyond road rage...but that is a very important issue.
Your work is VERY important today my brother. I believe that we are headed for a "MAD MAX" scenario here in the U.S. very soon! It will pay to be READY!
Years ago I was using an entry ramp on the left side of the highway and slowed due to melding with the fast lane traffic. The driver of the car behind me felt frustrated enough at my slowing to blare his horn and slew around me aggressively. In my VW Beetle, I flipped him the bird. Did you know that a VW windshield will spiderweb at the impact of a knuckle? I just drove to a glass shop and paid my stupidity fee. Lesson learned.
regarding Tip #2, a useful fact: Generally, car door window glass will break fairly readily as it is tempered (unlike the windshield which is laminated) and if it is rolled up all the way in the frame it has support that makes it stiffer. If the window is rolled down just an inch or less, it does not have the support from the top of the frame and is much more flexible, therefore less likely to shatter. In other words, it will 'give' if it is struck.
I'm a bus driver; I carry a glass breaker on my key chain, in case of emergency. I've assisted in a few road collisions. This device shatters window glass as if it is peanut brittle. I am a level headed guy, but I am aware it could be put to use for other reasons.
Tempered glass also breaks easily from the edges, many types on home you barely tap the edge and it breaks(freezes), but you can throw rock after rock at a patio door glass(single pane 3/16" that's tempered) and it won't break. As you said, keep your windows up to the top if someone is try to break them, it's much hard as most car glass is also convex, which strengthens it too. Be safe out there.
411, Thank You for the Video Sir! 👍💪 Great points made! It’s a Sad thing to hear about that young man getting killed at the gas station. Society is getting insane.
Besides my edc knife, pistol, spare mag, I now frequently carry a 2 oz magnum pepper on my belt, and a much larger fogger style can in my console. All thanks to you demonstrating them. That company is great! I will say that the 2 oz can in its holster is a bigger problem to hide than my spare mag but thats ok it works. That big can might come in handy some day. It dumps the whole can in 3 seconds. Lol I love your channel its so well thought out and practical. Love your delivery style too.
Great video with very precise explanations. One couple small things I'd like to add. As soon as you get into your car even before putting the key in the ignition lock your doors. Something as simple as this one step can save you from being carjacked or worse. Stay alert especially when pumping gas or approaching your car in a parking lot. You can check social media after you get in your car with the doors locked.
Definitely. You don't know what's going in someone's life, you don't know what kind of day someone's having, etc. You also have no idea what's in someone's pocket, on their hip, on their ankle, etc.
I'm an ex-drinker and went through 20 years of complete stupor without harm, I wouldn't have noticed if someone walked up to me with a knife. Even once I fell into a five foot ditch, literally, and didn't get a sprain. I'm not advising it, I wouldn't do it now, maybe I had a Guardian Angel.

I took a course on road rage once for night school credit. This was the money shot. "It is not our job to "punish" or "educate" other drivers out on the roadway. That is the function and prerogative of Law Enforcement." The other key lesson was that road rage doesn't occur when we are driving foolishly, but when we REFUSE to. The impatient driver behind us becomes enraged when we refuse to accept the same level of risk that they do. We are being careful and cautious, but they interpret our actions as "Slow" or "Stupid"...
I Have been in this sitch. Bear spray was my friend. Now I keep too full cans in the car as well as other stuff like you show.. nice little stinger you made there!! ;-]
Excellent and one thing is to wear your seatbelt. Our vehicle was totaled and we only had very minor injuries due to the fact we were both buckled up. Also, don't get angry at the scene even if the other person smashed into you.
Hi Daniel. Another Sunday morning spent with my man who follows the righteous path. I know we are brethren by your statement, "I will never choose the law over my life and specially of my families." The first time I noticed someone following me for no reason, I drove immediately to the Police Station. He was soon gone. When I moved to a new area, the first thing I scoped out was the location of the Fire Station and the Sheriff's Dept. It's good to know. When driving on the highway and you see an agressive driver, let him pass and avoid any sudden moves. Make no hand gestures and avoid eye contact. A few years before all this madness began, a guy pulled up beside me and gestured for me to pull over. I had no idea what he wanted and kept moving on. Keep your composure no matter how unruly they are. They're asking you to engage. Don't fall for it.
One of the situations I experienced was in my old tour bus for backpackers. Had done a big group tour that day and got caught coming out the gas station in a set up. No fire.arms just a decoy and a "bumper truck" (Jhb SA). Windows were all down since it had been a hot Saturday. Dude parks me in, comes round to my side, grabs keys, opens my driver door and starts to pull me out while his buddy was circling around to the unlocked passenger side. All I had was a paintball marker (Tipp-X handheld) and it was the first day I had it. So I grab it and start struggling with the safety as it's brand new still, guy sees the top of it and thinks it's the real deal. Talk about the wind being driven from one's sails 😂 I know God was on my side that day. Got clean out of a masterful attempted car.jack.ing that would have taken no tools on their part.
People feel too safe and bold inside their cars sometimes. Never, and I mean never, say anything to anyone from the inside of your car that you would not say at the grocery store if you looked into his eyes.
I've always had trouble controlling my anger during confrontations. I wish I could be Joe cool but I have an Irish temper. But I always remind myself of the consequences if not kept under control. One thing that helped was watching a crime show one night and a detective reminded the audience that prisons are filled with people who couldn't control their anger and emotions.
Very great points Daniel. Good timing on the video too, had a related almost-incident just last Friday! Another scenario might be when your car is parked outside, and you're in the middle of loading/unloading items. You're in an awkward position, half-in and half-out of the vehicle, and quite vulnerable. Suddenly, an unknown vehicle screeches to a stop behind you and starts making aggressive gestures. Time to stop what you're doing, initiate "Code Orange," and get ready to respond.
There used to be taught in the home and in school that there was a certain amount of responsibility to be polite while in society. Don't be a bully, don't hog the space, keep your voice down, pick up the dog crap, don't litter. Things like those. And that carries into driving as well. While driving it is the individual responsibility to not obstruct traffic around you. If you can get in the right lane and slow down 2 mph to let someone pass rather than slow them down while you pass those three tractor trailers in a row. Don't tailgate. Ket out of the way of tailgaters, Don't stay on cruise control while passing that line of trucks, get past them quick and get out of the way. I used to drive a lot. It was nothing for me to put 100,000 miles on a vehicle in three years. Part was the daily commute, part was cross country driving. Being polite on the road almost makes you invisible to road ragers. I am not giving up my rights to drive as I want, I am driving in a society. Right now I can quickly stretch my arms out. There is no one next to me. But the minute I get into a crowded space I have the responsibility not to quickly stretch my arm out. If you want to be part of the society you should accept these responsibilities. They also make you safer.

Some guys used to street and bar fight for a sort of stupid fun…..a dangerous game, but today, be prepared for a gun fight ! Avoiding this craziness is sage advise ! Be vigilant ……Thanks 👍
Road rage is epidemic where I live, drive, and ride a motorcycle. The freeways are utter chaos. It’s all exacerbated by the near total absence of police presence and traffic enforcement on the roads.
Always leave enough room to maneuver your car when you stop at traffic lights, or in deadlocked traffic. This saved my ass once, when someone approached the vehicle, I was able to turn my wheel real hard and get out of there. Also, you can use your vehicle as a weapon if you absolutely have to. Turn your wheels away from, the person approaching your driver side window put the car in reverse put 1 foot on the break and one on the gas and if they try to make a move, go ahead and floor it.
A few years go riding my motorcycle up Rt17 in NC, an older guy in a convertible started to change lanes into me. I maneuvered around him and when we got a little further up the road he came up alongside me and was clearly scared I was going to do something stupid. Rather than act like an A-hole I just waved at him, hey no harm no foul. Does that make me a saint? No but I try to follow the advice my father gave me when growing up. Don’t be a jerk. As our society continues to fall apart and people become more stressed I think that advice becomes more important every day.
Few messages that keeps my a** stay humble, cautious, and alive before starting the machine that carries me around town are; "if you think your crazy, there is one who is 100x crazier"(ready to unload everything on ya), "one minute to five minutes delay on your destination is much better when you arrive safely and in one piece on your destination"(including loves one with you), a seasoned captain from a police department once said; "to all the people he arrested, we are one step closer to be in where they are"(the captain included himself). Stay safe and always be vigilant out there. And, let us not let ego and pride rule over us but goodness and self-discipline.
Thanks for the common sense in these uncommon times. Some of the common denominators in these road rage videos is that if you are perceived as the aggressor you are the one that's going to jail. And the incident could happen out in the middle of nowhere and somebody's going to have a camera on you. Let the cooler head prevail but if that is not an option you got to take Josey Wales advice. When you're backed into a corner and there's no way out you got to get mad dog mean😮
Where is that, I'm in the Midwest and like them a lot. That being said, I had words with an officer one time because he didn't know how to use a double lane round-about in the Brighton area and he claimed I cut him off 😒.
Yes I have. A guy chased me in traffic and I pulled into a car wash where two cop cars were taking a break. The guy kept going and when I told the cops what was going on one of them said he knew the guy and went after him. I went on my way.
Well thankfully my wife is with me quit A bit and has stopped me from getting in many confrontations, as you can hear she is the compassionate person of this group she's calmed me down over the 30 year's of marriage now I'm a pussycat but you are totally right about what you have said to the tee thanks for the great advice brother 🇺🇲😎
It's hard to practice discipline all the time. But I definitely will not escalate the situation and get away if I can. I do not want to fight. But I will not let anyone hurt me or mine. Walk softly but carry a big stick.
I live in a small suburb. I see a road rage just about every week. Some might just make a mistake and the other person gets aggressive. Buddy of mine who works for the Sate DOT said they know when people are driving they feel anonymous, so they are more likely to act out then if you saw them on the street eye to eye.
As a 911 dispatcher, I took many road rage calls. Yes, if the caller was being followed, I’d stay on the line and direct them to the Police Station parking lot.
Also ... 1. Unlock your seatbelt so you can move freely. 2. Close your windows. 3. Lock your doors. 3. If the window is smashed, lower your back rest flat and lie back so your head is out the way of a punch, he will need to lean into the car to get to you, then you have the advantage of space to punch back.
Get safe then play with your phone. It is life and death out there. How long do you think it will take for help to arrive? If you are not "next to the donut shop" you need a plan, not a phone. In every crazy encounter I have been in, or witnessed, it would all be over before help arrived. Reading the situation is far more important... If your dealing with a bully a show of overwhelming power is all that you need. If your dealing with a thief making the target not worth the effort required to acquire said often works. If you are dealing with a raged psychopath your going to need some skills. We can all make highway madness less by showing up for others when we see it. You don't need to come in guns blazing, just being present as a witness often helps (Always have an escape plan, just in case - If you are showing up as a witness you can use your phone, if you want).
I’m at the place where I’m beginning to see that every single interaction and the choices we make during these interactions are not about what is going on so much as the meanings and values that are on display. When I can finally get to the place where others people’s lack of character or self control doesn’t cause me to display a similar lack in response, then I can truly feel that I have evolved and will enjoy the better outcomes that will surely follow.
This video makes me glad I bought a used M1 Abrams tank for commuting . Gas mileage sucks but the rounds they sold for the gun makes up for the mileage issue 😂
I was pursued by an individual who thought I did something wrong. I was stuck in traffic, he beat on my window, I had my pepper spray ready but was able to diffuse the situation by having my doors locked and windows up. I apologized and the person backed off.
Once my friends were driving up to Bingham, Utah. They were going to explore some old abandoned copper mines up in the mountains of Bingham. Suddenly my friends almost had a Deliverance experience. A truck full of crazy drunk mountain men fired up on moon shine started chasing my friends down this curvy mountain road. These crazy mountain men were swerving into my friends truck, doing their best to make my friends fly off the mountain. My friends managed to get their truck turned around, and drive back down the curvy mountain road as fast as they could go. Eventually my friends outran the other truck full of wild, drunk mountain men. There’s no telling what those crazy mountain men would have done to my friends, if they got ahold of them. Your advise to run and never stop, and always make sure the gas tank is full is exactly what saved my friends that night.

Thank you!
When I was a deputy in the early 1990s, we were taught this at the academy as well.
119 grains of lead is worth several tons of cure….
One of the hardest things to defend against is our own reaction.
This is excellent thinking !
If it isn't road rage and aggressive driving, it's completely distracted drivers whose minds are on everything but driving. It's a jungle out there. All the tips and protective devices that were shown are worth implementing every single day. Thanks again!
Add in all the vax injured having seizures and crashing. Know two ppl Personally

In Mn there is no place a victim can justify protecting themselves
Great tips. Have a dash cam or a body cam as well as weapons at the ready.
I never leave home without a dash cam or helmet cam while on my motorcycle. I feel naked without it.
And keep that cell phone on the seat next to you at all times.
That's right.... manage yourself... if people would just chill and manage your self...
I’m peaceful but not defenseless I always try to walk away first but if put in that situation I hope they value life as much as I do
Dash cam, dash cam, dash cam. They are used extensively all over the world but Americans seem to have missed the memo. Their usefulness extends far beyond road rage...but that is a very important issue.
I am 65 years old. I have avoided lots of situations just by not engaging stupid. But sometimes stupid will not let it be. Great video good advice.
Your work is VERY important today my brother. I believe that we are headed for a "MAD MAX" scenario here in the U.S. very soon! It will pay to be READY!
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!!!
Thanks, brother!💯
I hope we're not headed for a Mad Max scenario, but try to prepare as best as we can just in case.
Great lesson for us, thank you. The amount of deadly traffic encounters on RUclips is beyond horrible, it boggles the mind.
You have a way of shaking us up to what is real out on the streets and what we can do about it. Thank you my friend.
Excellent advice ! always avoid confrontation but be prepped and ready to defend yourself !!
regarding Tip #2, a useful fact:
Generally, car door window glass will break fairly readily as it is tempered (unlike the windshield which is laminated) and if it is rolled up all the way in the frame it has support that makes it stiffer.
Sir, simple great advice in today's world. Situational awareness is critical today. Each point you make is valid in my opinion. Thanks.
I was followed by a guy who kept his horn blasting. I stopped, got out and asked wtf!
That was so wrong! Thanks for your video to

Thank you!
Great video and advice! We all need to relax a little more.
Try to be Cool, and be ready to react . Thanks again for the very useful tips . Much needed in today's day and age .
Let it go has been my mantra for a while now. No more temper flare ups while driving
Great Advice. I carry the same. Thanks for Sharing
Always be ready . Your exactly right . 👍

Great information!
Good information
Yes its best not to make eye contact etc and just drive on its not worth it
I took a course on road rage once for night school credit.
Outstanding!
This was a great video with great logical lessons. Thank you for sharing.
I Have been in this sitch. Bear spray was my friend. Now I keep too full cans in the car as well as other stuff like you show.. nice little stinger you made there!! ;-]
Wow. Thank you for this especially encouraging us to avoid these situations.
Excellent advice.
Excellent and one thing is to wear your seatbelt. Our vehicle was totaled and we only had very minor injuries due to the fact we were both buckled up. Also, don't get angry at the scene even if the other person smashed into you.

Your ego is not your amigo
Tailgating is agressive behavior and is sooooo common .
The first time I noticed someone following me for no reason, I drove immediately to the Police Station.
Thank you for the good tips.
GOOD MAN...WISE WORDS

Much appreciated
Be careful driving and do not respond to others mistakes or others anger of yours. Stop the cycle right there
great advice !
People feel too safe and bold inside their cars sometimes. Never, and I mean never, say anything to anyone from the inside of your car that you would not say at the grocery store if you looked into his eyes.
I couldn't agree more! 👍
Good Advice. THE SARGE
Thank you! Excellent video!
As a driver, me and my cohorts agree.
Thanks 😀
Times are different these days, compared to the 1950’s and 1960’s. Those days, usually a fight with fists, feet, boards, bottles….guns, not often !
I hear that!
Very good advice……more power to you..
Number two ,never drive to your house , take a different paths.
Absolutely
Few messages that keeps my a** stay humble, cautious, and alive before starting the machine that carries me around town are; "if you think your crazy, there is one who is 100x crazier"(ready to unload everything on ya), "one minute to five minutes delay on your destination is much better when you arrive safely and in one piece on your destination"(including loves one with you), a seasoned captain from a police department once said; "to all the people he arrested, we are one step closer to be in where they are"(the captain included himself). Stay safe and always be vigilant out there. And, let us not let ego and pride rule over us but goodness and self-discipline.
Really good advice for everyone.

I’ve been followed on the road for no reason whatsoever. Its happened a few times.. It’s getting real strange out here.
Yes, I live in the Roundabout capital. It's very scary. Lots of tourists who have no clue.

Great stuff!
Exactly, they have no personal connection with the people in the other vehicles.
Forgot to say, hi Mr Black 👋.
That Glock was the best advice in the whole video. My choice is Taurus 856.
I suspect that it also helps to be a mellow driver, decreasing the number of other drivers that you annoy.
Staying safe in a car is much easier when the car has bulletproof windows and bulletproof door panels 💥
Thanks for sharing 🙂!
