Ha, we actually shot this over without the mess up and apparently it got lost in the editing. Looks like we'll need to go back and fix it! Thanks for the heads up!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV yes please. that turn signal canceler is a bizarre thing. I installed a new column, and the canceler worked perfect for a day, then mysteriously stopped in both LT and RT
Yep. Done this twice now. Shee-Mar products use to be top-notch, but are now substandard. I'll have to look into the Brothers Trucks line and check out the quality of their product.
Hi Dave great video by the way it helped me install a new turn signal switch, I did have a problem , driving with the headlights on and apply the turn signal both turn signal lights flash on the dash only , both front and rear work as they should, any advise on what that may be. Thanks Dave keep up what your doing. Anthony
Awesome video! I have a problem with my blinkers and am not sure if I need to change this or not. My left blinker works perfectly normal. My right blinker works until the brakes are applied. When I apply the brakes it goes solid like a brake light. Could it be this blinker switch because it is pretty dirty in there. I cleaned it as best I could but it’s possible that it’s burned yes? Other than that I believe it would be a ground that’s corroded or something like that. I need some help lol
Provide a proper ground to the housing that's giving you trouble and see what happens first. If that doesn't fix it then move on to the switch. It's probably a ground problem.
Excellent, excellent, excellent video. My plastic casing around my spring loaded horn contact on the turn signal switch broke, so my horn did not work. This video is an excellent guide, and I'm glad I watched it before re-assembly. I did not realize one of the three screws was shorter. And great call on rotating your screw pattern on re-assembly so the fitted plastic doesn't crack on your new part. The only two things that I would add is that 1) the spring loaded contact may differ on some kits, and the kit directions tell you how to reconfigure it so it works; and 2) most turn signal switch wiring harnesses are already plugged into the strip terminal. Here is a video on how to unplug the wires from the strip, using an eyeglass repair kit (good info starts at about 2:00).... ruclips.net/video/f2iBmOZN3g4/видео.html
I almost bought one of these trucks, until I got inside and sat in it. I quickly realized that they had built the Gas Tank into the Cab of the truck, also, when I went from the Gas to the Break, my Knee kept hitting the steering wheel... I'm like, nope, not buying it.
Got a similar problem on my 79 c10, left blinker works but when I turn the signal up for the right turn signal there’s no click or anything, perhaps something is broken inside the steering column? Please help thanks
Can these wires which have the correct horseshoe plug be used in the stock style repro tilt columns? The big flat blade that need an adapter aren't my favorite setup..
It's definitely not as easy as it would be going from manual to auto, but it's doable. The pedal assembly and clutch linkage will be the most difficult part.
I have installed a new wire harness from the under the bed to the tail lights everything was working but left brake light I was researching and read this might solve the problem any ideas?
Not yet. One of the guys at our shop recently did the conversion to his truck, and we're waiting to gather some impressions of the kit, function, ride etc before we make a vid.
Dave, I wish to make my cucv a dual tank, all I have is the 2nd tank, also the fuel gate for the fleet side, even though it would be a conversion from the driver side to the passenger side off a discarded fleet side. What would I need to make dual tank possible
@@h.i.sc-10tips31 The 68 with a non tilt doesn't have a bulb. It has a fiber optic cable. I think one end goes to a bulb in your gauge cluster and the other goes to the indicator.
you're working way too hard. The turn signal assembly can be repaired unless the nylon is cracked where the turn signal stem attaches. You do need to remove the housing under the dash. Also remove the horseshoe bracket from the column. No need to cut any wires as they all will easily feed through the column. To back off the assembly just use a screwdriver in the hazard hole and pry out.
Dave is the best at showing the process for servicing the 67 -72 Chev. Trucks.
Thank you. Now just come on over and show me in person. My truck is ready. I'll have the beer and food ready!
Thanks
Sounds like a BBQ and work on the truck day!
If you tape your new wires, to your grey wire, you can use it to pull the other wires through the column cover .

LOL
When does he take the dash apart to get all the screws out that fell down the defrost holes?
Great video I had a similar issue months ago when I put a 15 inch steering wheel in my truck but I cleaned the horn ring and my horn worked again
RIGHT ON!
I replaced my turn signal and now my horn wont work
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
Yes sir
Good one Dave

Thanks David appreciate all your work. Would this be a similar process for a 64 chevy pickup
Yes, basically the same. Thanks for watching!

should pull a wire or string through while pulling the old wires out, then use it to pull the new wires in

If I have the 1964 chevy c10 wiring harness installed (updated version) , but have a 1968 chevy truck steering column , do u think it'll be compatible

I bought my starter switch all the wires are connected how do I slide the plastic piece in where the wires are connected 🤔
you slide the wires into the plastic plug first, then on to the switch.
Do you have a part number for the last spring you added?
We do not carry that spring. If you need one your best option is to gran one from a junkyard.
