Fun fact: there was also a version for old Java phones. I remember playing it on my Sony Ericsson. It even looked slightly better than the Gameboy version

You should look at monkey ball for the gba, it's the full 3D game from the GameCube just with less levels and extra's
You should see the GBA version of NFS Underground. That's also pretty impressive imo.
Even PSP version isn't the best.

It's still hard to believe we had four different versions of the same game (GBA,NDS,PSP,PS2) with one version being ported to five different platforms(Xbox, ps2, GameCube,xbox360 and PC)

This is one of the few examples where a cross gen game, actually looks like a different game on the newer hardware.
Are you sure that you don't compare the handheld versions with the console versions? I'm not really impressed when I look at XBox/X360.

@@KhaosInductionCreator yeah , EA used the ps2 port as a base to make the pc version i see, natively there isnt even widescreen! fortunately now there is a mod which fixes that so it now somewhat looks like the OG xbox version

The road reflections and overall graphics look impressive on the Old Xbox Version considering it only had a Nvidia GeForce 3-based NV2A GPU @ 233 MHz
That Brown/Yellow filter on the 360 just makes the game way better for me. Brings me back to a time

Please continue to upload racing video game comparison videos on every game console. This one is also my favorite racing game. I often play this on PS2 Rentals. I threw some money out of my piggy bank and was willing to wait hours for a chance to play the game. However, it is a memory of the past that is so memorable for me.

@@eszjujut5907probably same here. I like ps2 version, which i play right now, but i like windows/xbox 360 version because of yellow filter. I played PC version as a child. Even that in 2024 it is a bit outdated, it gives the game extra charisma. Same story with GTA San Andreas and its orange filter..

Owned the PS2, PSP and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Lotta great memories, still have may 360 copy. One of my all time fav racing games.

None of the other versions even compare to how good Most Wanted on the ds is.
Just look at those graphics and stellar gameplay
Gamecubes version to me has always been the best, i love the lighter color scheme in the environment and the big thing for me was it seemed like audio quality was much better than my ps2 version. Never got a chance to play the xbox/360 versions, this makes me want to.
You can tell the limited disc space hurt it, though, the textures are noticeably blurrier than even the Ps2 version when the Gamecube actually had a more powerful GPU than the Xbox.
if anything the audio is what was compressed the most in the GC version.

According to Factor 5, it is. The Xbox, however, has a stronger CPU and more RAM. Not to mention a lot more storage space on the discs.

I'm suprized there hasn't been a remaster for the one, s, ps4, and ps5 yet. This game was like the most popular thing 15 years ago lol. It went around like skyrim and San Andreas.

For PC users, there's a free mod you can download that uses the HD textures found exclusively on the Xbox 360 version. That with other quality of life mods, it makes the PC version the best. Especially when using any Xbox controller.
Not really, since the lighting engine is not as good on pc, which not even the mod can solve
But It is a really good alternative considering how expensive 360 copies have become
how to run on pc? i keep getting "missing D3DX9_26.DLL" that caused me to fail to run it
Surprisingly, I find the GBA version enjoyable. I played on my phone with an emulator when I was 12 yo and I really liked it. Of course, it looks like crap, the blacklist is wrong, it doesn't have an open world, and the customization is really basic. But overall, it controls really well. You can go around almost all turns at full throttle and the races are fun. The longest race last around 6 and a half minutes, compare that to newer racing games for phones that you can't even control your car anymore, it's just one button, and the races last less than 30 seconds. And with the graphics problem, you can just put some filters and it will look better. Recommend if you're poor like me and don't have a PC or a high-end phone to run a PS2 emulator
The 360 version is actually so good. I am playing it rn and it looks so much better compared to even PC. PC with mods does look better because of the resolution but still, compared to stock MW on PC.

I had this first on GameCube as a kid than psp and I thought psp version was kinda wonky till I tried ds recently. Also I remember this game is awesome to mod on PC with cars. I also got this game around 2012 for my Xbox 360 and I have to say the mirror is best feature out of all versions, but I love how with psp how portable it was. Not even counting DS one it’s so garbage lol
The PSP always impresses me in these comparisons, It's like it's the big boys version but smaller, where as the DS and lower is just a completely different game

@@petya5314 you can isntall retro arch and then download the GameCube version with the 360 textures and play it on your Xbox even on retail mode (thats how i play it )

For me Gamecube is a little ahead of PS2, better car reflexions better anti aliasing, and textures are a little bit sharper. They are close though.
@@benjib2691 The Gamecube version has no reflections and worse colors than PS2.
@@mackalan Actually gameplaywise the Gamecube indeed seems to have no glass reflections, I made that statement based on the main menu M3 GTR. Color wise, it's subjective, I prefer myself the "greener" look of the Gamecube version, which is closer to the PC release I grow up with. However, you cannot deny the fact that the Gamecube version has much less aliasing (the PS2 is the only 6th gen console to not have hardware acceleration for anti-aliasing, even the dreamcast has it), and slightly better textures (maybe due to more texture cache on gamecube compared to PS2).
personally, the PC version is my favourate since that's the one I grew up playing. Had my dad's old copy from when he bought it on release and I'd play it all the time. You can port the 360's textures and lighting effects and it looks just as good and will run better. I think iirc my first car was the Lexus IS300 then the Colbalt then...I think the Corvette and finally the Carrera GT through my first playthrough

The best looking racing games on PS2 were Burnout Revenge & Dominator, Rally Evolved, Flatout 2, Enthusia, Battle Gear 3, GT4, Colin McRae Rally 2005, Test Driver Unlimited,
TOCA Race Driver 3, Sega Rally, LA Rush, Alfa Romeo Racing Italiano, Ford Racing 3, Ford vs. Chevy

Alright, sorry but the graphics of the PS2 version wasn't blurred. Or blocky, in the actual game it wasn't that bad at all, was actually the best game for graphics. And for its age still is.

But X to accelerate being the only other option than using the right analog stick is a nightmare after playing any other platform.
Hope they could make a trilogy remaster wth underground 1 and 2. The best games in my opinion.
If you play the PC version with the widescreen patch and the xbox 360 texture rips, then play it at 4k, it looks godly. Also you could get the HD cutscenes and a reshade to polish it off.

HERE, this is what I understand the REAL soundtrack for NFS. Most Wanted is one of the greatest parts of this series, no Payback, Heat and God forbid Unbound can compare with it. A legendary game!!!
Remember when I used to play in my bed on my laptop in 2013 it was winter outside and I was so cozy with a chicken sandwich on a little table next to my bed that my mum made me, miss those times when games weren't addictive and everything was normal like I was grateful with every thing I had and small things made me so happy when I was 13, now I look at these 12 yr olds vaping and stuff wanting to be 19 and acting all bad thinking they're on road😂

@@barry7235 That is a shame. But at least we can still emulate the PS2 version and maybe Xbox version once it's compatible with Xemu. And with a bit of a workaround, we can get the PC version up and running too, along with some modding. It's pretty much the only way as of now, unless you were still up to playing it on classic hardware if you can get a copy that is.
I first played the PSP and it is probably one of the best NFS game in the PSP ver.
But when I found out the PC ver. I just realized that the atmosphere is very different way better because it's more challenging.

The most insane thing about the Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) DS and PSP versions is that Need for Speed: Underground 2's DS and PSP versions are WAY better than Most Wanted (2005)'s handheld versions.
Kind of interesting how both the PC and Xbox (OG Xbox) don't look the same. Given the xbox has a Nvidia chip.
X360 is just wow. Now I wanna get it only to play with such graphics.
You can also get the same graphics for PC as long as your PC is high end

I love how no one seems to even care or notice the PC textures were borked for some reason.
its crazy... the lower the console quality the more the game don't look nor sound like its higher console quality brothers.
With that being said... I played this game twice. Once on Xbox and the other on PSP. Loved both versions, prolly enjoyed the psp version a little more than the mainstream console version; but only different was that the psp was the same game jus without freerom.
Love the XBOX 360 and the PC version.
