This is a really developed set of lines for a character that exists in the same game as a literal mass of pure muscle saying things like "Mundo go dis way"
It could mean that Ornn's story about making a river with pee could be true, or that he's eaten babies, or that he went in wild org...I mean, tasted humans, yeah, human meat.
He sounds rough and intimidating. But at the end of the day, he's also scared of being left behind. "I will not be forgotten". He keeps repeating that he's a god, and that he cannot die, so much that he even refuses to accept it when he's actually dying. He keeps talking about how disappointing his brother Ornn is, and how much he wants to destroy him. He can't accept that the world has changed and, like Akali would say, the old ways just don't work... he vanished Ornn from people's lives, treating him like a failure. But deep inside, he's scared of disappearing... "I am a god, i cannot die. [Sighs] but do i live if i am not in the hearts of warriors?" He says humans are weaklings and unworthy, but he still craves their faith on him... while Ornn accepted his fate and learned how to show empathy to humans (without letting them get too close to him, but he does), and he knows they are not as insignificant as Volibear says they are. Even if Volibear is a god, he's scared... but his pride will not let others notice it. Not even his siblings.
There is a big difference between Volibear and Ornn has dietys, Volibear is war and wilderness, two aspects that are not always relevant in the lives of people, but craftsmanship and blacksmithing? They are essential to human civilization, the conflict between Ornn and Volibear can be interpreted has the clash between the wild and the civilized, the craftsman and the warrior. Volibear can't be relevant if there is no war, but Ornn can build weapons and home's just as easily.
It's kind of interesting how much Runeterra has "lowly" people fighting against powers that on paper would destroy them. Aatrox believes he extremely powerful because he killed a kinda god, but is now getting his ass kicked by a human with nothing but willpower. The Watchers, god-like alien entities that see all of Runeterra as a nuisance are at the merch of Lissandra. Aurelion Sol who literally formed the universe got trapped by some mountain people. The mist, while not a god, is an incredibly powerful force but because it relies on life to flourish, it was defeated. This may be a stretch, but the entirety of Shurima and its ascended got fucked because of Xerath, a regular human. It's a common trend and I think that's for a reason
"Do you have something against bears, old man" (talking to Zilean) That sentence is a reference to a Rioter named Zilean who thought Volibear was an "unfitting" champion to the game and should be removed from the game.

In the Freljord, the spirit that have the most power over them is The Volibear(cuz he is the most powerful) to the point when they literally change their forms into deformed bears and he can speak through them. Udyr is the only one that tried to go agaisnt Volibear's control, even he used the power of Ornn to show him that he wasnt joking when he said that if he tries something funny agaisnt Sejuani then he'll lost his new physical body.
In conclusion he is a hobo with weird furry powers but those weird furry powers are directly connected with the Volibear (reason why they use the bear cape)
