When Caine talked about the team being powerless to stop the incoming violent shipping wars, we all thought he was just joking. Turns out it was a prophetic prediction knowing full well that Gummigoo was going to cause exactly that.
Except that Jax mentioned it a second time after they brought the spikes out, and Jax mentioning it the first time actually pushed the plot forward slightly. While it might partially be a reference to the jar weirdness, I seriously think Gangle has some embarrassing secret that Jax only knows because he has keys to everyone's rooms.
I'm gonna be honest, I knew Gummigoo wasn't gonna survive to the end of the episode. I knew he was a goner as soon as Pomni asked him to come back to the circus.

To be fair, even though Caine is an unfeeling monster, Gumigoo is composed of assets still present in the game and the new AI produced his impressionable character. As long as the AI that made him exists, there is a good chance that Gummigoo can be made using his previous incarnation as data. Edit: Here's a theory about where I think they might take his character arc, IF they bring him back: A remade Gummigoo may not remember Pomni, or their interaction; then, Pomni may desperately try to recreate the events of the 2nd episode (helped by Jax because he's all for making ppl miserable). Through this "readventure", she may realize that she DOES in fact want others to feel as miserable as she does if it would mean having a friend she can relate to. She may even come to the conclusion that Caine's ruthless treatment of the NPCs is actually the most merciful existence he can provide for them. Ignorance is bliss after all.

Honestly, Caine was much nicer about ot than I expected. I expected him to just kill Gumigoo immediately without any words or anything before moving on like nothing even happened, or even acknowledging Gumigoo's existence outside of the effort he took to erase him.
