I stared at the image for a good 10 seconds trying to understand what they even mean. I genuinely thought they were saying that the female mandos have chestplates while the males didn't.
6:38 Turns out, Yoda isn't a freak or anything, he just talks like that because that's how galactic common was spoken when Yoda was young, about 900 years before the SW films. Imagine growing up in 1100s England, about 100 or so years after beowulf was first written down. Yeah, go look that up and realize that yodas weird word order could have been a lot worse.
And for 900 years he didn't try to adapt to more modern language?

@@Simon-hb9rf This is a fair consideration, I just chose English because Yoda speaks English but with a strange word order. If I were to give a post-hoc justification, however; the norman conquest of England took place in 1066. If we presume that Yoda was 900 years old and died in 2024, then he would have been born in 1124, 58 years after. French may have been the imposed language of the upper class, but given how the conquest was still likely in the living memory of many nobles, I would still guess that most nobles were at least bilingual, and a rare few might only have been able to speak English, requiring interpreters. All of this is presuming Yoda would have been born to nobility, however. We literally don't know anything about Yoda's early life or home planet. We don't even know what his species is called. For all we know, Yoda was born to a peasant family and was taken in for his force abilities at a very young age. Given this idea, Yoda would be far more likely to speak English just based on the fact that more people from more classes spoke English.

although i would make one slight point, didnt the Normans bring many nobles over from Normandy to replace the native ones? in which case most of the court at least would've been French speakers. and lest we forget Yoda was a high ranking jedi that's got to be equivalent to a noble courtesan?

I think Luke and Rey have very realistic shooting faces. Leia looks like she got caught in the middle of holding in a sneeze, and then Padmes face looks too...not natural but like...she looks too calm and focused for it to seem realistic. If we go off of who looks the most composed, I give it to Padme. If it's based on realistic faces it's a tie of Luke and Rey...which is not a sentence I thought I'd say.

I think it’s close, I remember hearing some chat about it being the emperor or his master when they experimented with the force leading to anaken being born from the force
The reason they cant turn off the opponents lightsaber is because of the opponents force shield protecting them from force-related attacks
Edit: The force shield is more of a metaphor. The user can do it but that requires that they are stronger in the force than their enemy. This is also an incredibly risky move, needing a lot of focus which gives the opponent plenty of opportunity to find openings in the users defences.
Edit 2:Someone in the comments has pointed out to me that my explanation why Jedi and Sith can’t turn off each others lightsaber’s with the force isn’t 100% accurate. My explanation is my own personal headcanon, with bits of canon information mixed in with my understanding of the Star Wars lore. Take my explanation with a grain of salt:
This is a logical explanation. It also is a fan theory that has no basis in canon.

@@casparfang force barrier is an advanced ability that must be learned. it involves making a physical barrier with the force, similar to the force fields Violet can make in the incredibles.
Cere Junda uses this ability to block Vader's lightsaber in Jedi fallen order. Not all jedi can do it, and it is considered rare even among Jedi masters.
It has absolutely nothing to do with preventing someone from turning off your lightsaber with telekinesis. It isn't a natural telekinetic defence all jedi have.
That being said, your theory makes sense, and I actually quite like it, but that's not the _point._
The point is, they have never stated in canon that force users have "shields" or whatever. There are many possible explanations as to why force users don't usually do this to each other, including maybe making a tendril of energy to grab something, and the other person doing the same to smack their grubby psychic hand away.
Or perhaps jedi have a higher 'affinity' with their own lightsaber via the crystal, and thus they have 'jurisdiction' over it, making it difficult to manipulate for other jedi/sith.
There are countless other possible explanations, and as fans, we can pick whatever theory we think is coolest/makes the most sense.
I personally subscribe to your theory above all others, as I quite enjoy it myself.
But that's no reason to rain on the parade of a frankly hilarious and technically canon compliant joke because you have a theory that you want to say "umm actually" about. it isn't canon. It's not a "metaphor". It's a theory.
Feel free not to read this. I know some people have a hard time with reading, and I wouldn't want to cause any undue stress.

I want to weigh in on turning off lightsabers. The sith viewed that as a weakness to need to disarm the opponent first, the jedi viewed it as dishonorable and basically a war crime. Sorta like “If you turn off my saber you’ve committed a war crime” and “I literally blew up planets of civilians I do not care about warcrimes BUT, I ain’t a giant bitch that needs to turn off your saber to beat you.”
