Good review. But it’s not confusing as a consumer: 7 seater: Cx80 - large, cheaper Cx90 - XLarge, expensive 5 seater: Cx5 - Small, cheap Cx60 - Medium premium Cx70 - Large premium I’m looking for a 7 seater and only looking at cx80 vs competitors like the Santa Fe. Now Mazda has 2 options for consumers, as Hyundai has Santa Fe and Palisade.
CX60 - Narrow body 5 seater CX80 - Narrow body 8 seater CX70 - Wider body 5 seater CX90 - Wider body 8 seater Countries usually wouldn’t have ALL of these available, Australia being a rare case having all of them. Hence the confusing line-up.
I think the value makes sense with this car compared to a CX-9 as you compared it, the base of this is only a couple thousand more than a base AWD CX-9. The value even makes sense with the top trim (in my personal opinion), the CX-80 Azami top trim petrol 6 cylinder (without the SP Pack) is $80,366 Driveaway (as of November 2024 for my area code in NSW). If I remember correctly the top spec equivalent CX-9 Azami AWD was retailing for around $78K, only a few thousand difference yet you get way more than a few thousand dollars worth of extras with this car in both examples
I test drove touring Diesel, very quiet inside and the car moved like a freight train with very low revs. Suspension was good not sure why reviewer complains about suspension. My be the cx range is now priced high reviewers are looking for premium suspension. If the same suspension was offered on a 50k car.. there would be no complaints from the reviewers. We need reviews from common man.
I learnt with a base model CX8, no lumbar support kills anyones life. Worth the extra $5k in the next model up for me just for that. Leather is much better than cloth for cleaning too. But I can't argue with $60k value!
Yep, you have pretty much the same thoughts as I have about my CX-60. Interior and engine is great, but why did they make a single clutch auto with a 1st gear that changes up at like 25kph!
SavageGeese (a Canadian car-review RUclips channel) did a comprehensive review of the CX-60 when it came out, and interviewed some Mazda engineers. I can't link it here, but when you do just find the section where the engineer talks about the engine and transmission. He gives a clear explanation of why it is designed the way it is.
People are really lazy nowadays, they want the auto seats but dont look to the fact that is an amazing engine to have. If you want a good seat which moves automatically buy the massage chair mate.
It's actually very simple. CX60 goes with the CX80, in Europe we get only those two. In the US there is the CX70 & CX90, no CX60. The CX70 & CX90 are slightly longer than the CX80 (around 10cm), CX70&CX90 are above 5m in length, CX80 is below 5m in length. CX70 is 5 seats, CX90 is 7 Seats, CX80 is 7 seats, CX60 is 5 seats, It's basically different models for Europe (60 & 80) & US (70 & 90). Why does Australia gets all of them is actually the weird thing, you should definetely talk to Mazda Australia.
Very impressive for a base model. Why would you spend extra when you get so much standard equipment. Still not convinced with the ride quality, It still needs major work for our shit roads in Oz.
get the evolve with the luxury and vision pack. you get pretty much everything except for electric steering adjustment, vented seats, touch screen, and a bunch of superficial nonsense you probably don't even know about.
There something 1st generation MPS3 & MPS6 & CX7 about these, look great on paper new high tech engine but very much flawed and probably unreliable over time.
The CX60 is easily the best looking. The CX80 is just too big - it looks weird at the back but still better than the CX70 and C90 which are exactly the same except for the third row and they look like bloated minivans with the same problem as the CX80 but even worse - that horrible rear end that’s just pushed out too much. Why do manufacturers keep making bloated car based SUVs? Just build a minivan!
Same with the CX5, the NVH is really bad riding on a 19". The transmission is a hit and miss and very lurchy at slow speed and cold. I cant fathom how they have not fixed this but made it worst in the CX-X0 lineup. With the company bleeding heavily in the latest fiscal report and the wrong focus on paint innovation, im skeptical if they are even able to pull it out next year.
this guys reviews are getting hard to watch, he needs to settle down, its like getting a car review from an over excited 17 year old female.. settle petal..
It has been their style from the beginning. It's clearly liked by some since they have a decent following. You can look elsewhere for car reviews that are more relaxed. 'savagegeese' is one that comes to mind.
G'day it's Steven again Not only is Matt brutally honest and a huge laugh but he's also a good guy that's not too big for his boots, just because he's a big RUclips star he still makes time for his fans and subscribers. As for Mazda, well to be honest I have never been a fan of a manufacturer that keeps increasing its prices and tries very hard to be European when clearly it is not. For decades they've been referred to as a "hair dresser" car, they have very soft design lines and feminine looks. The interior looks dark and sombre, the wobbly protruding plastic bit on the dash is a knee killer and someone please tell me why there's a massive plastic cover over the entire engine, is the engine that ugly? Anyway I'm glad I'm not the only one confused because they "all" look the same to me, they also have strange small disproportionate headlights for some reason and this one has practically breached copyright laws due to pinching BMW's butt light design. I'm sure there's some kind of appeal to the consumer with these cars but not to me, perhaps I just need to be wearing a dress or something...IDK.
Good review. But it’s not confusing as a consumer:
7 seater:

Cx60 - Medium premium

Touring diesel would be the pick of the bunch
Well said 🎉
Santa Fe comes as a hybrid. That's a huge advantage.
CX60 - Narrow body 5 seater
CX80 - Narrow body 8 seater
CX70 - Wider body 5 seater
CX90 - Wider body 8 seater
Countries usually wouldn’t have ALL of these available, Australia being a rare case having all of them. Hence the confusing line-up.
Why is 70 larger than 80?
@@Mike_221that good sir, is a question for the big wigs in Mazda 😂
More interior space with the longer wheelbase and a larger boot, without the CX90 extra row.
@@Mike_221
@@Mike_221 That's because CX70 should've been a CX90 Sport with 2 rows
@@Mike_221 Because CX7 was bigger than CX8.
CX3 = CX20 (Mazda2)
_new gen7 = CX30 (Mazda3)
CX4 = CX40
CX5 = CX50
_new gen7 = CX60 (Mazda6)
CX7 = CX70
CX8 = CX80 3 row
CX9 = CX90 3 row

Yay for cloth, manually adjustable seats!
Cloth seats are a nightmare when you have kids to be honest, far less durable than wiping clean leather
Great video like always!!! I’m a big fan.
I don't care if they look the same, I care how it drives and rides.

dude im so confused if u are really reviewing a 90, 60, 70 or an 80.
😂They're the same car. The only difference is length and engine trims, as well as optional extras.
Just a thought, Could you add in the safety section how many airbags? I would have like to known if there are curtain airbags in the third row.
there's a Pedal misuse" option you should be able to disable to do brake launch.
94 missed phone calls and 1285 unread texts ! Someone loves you :-)

hahaha,good point mate
I would get the CX 60 with in line diesel in top spec.
Mate, were you on speed ?!1
That inline 6 needs to go into a hatchback or sedan with a dual clutch set up.
This is now at the top of my list. Why? Solely because of the cloth seats, finally.

Mazda should've brought the cx50 with the hybrid in. Bit of a miss hope they bring it in down the line
Am I blind? 7:16 - There is no link to the CX-60 review "down below"
Mazda CX lineup explained 😇🤣
BMW X5 - 5 seater & 7 seater
BMW X7 - 5 seater & 7 seater
What can we say, they said they taking on the BMW 😂🤷🏾♂️
Manually adjusting seats, cloth seats, no touch screen, non hybrid and a mini van looking rear for 60k is unacceptable. Mazda has lost it.
I feel like they hired the design guy from BMW
I’d gladly have cloth seats if it meant Mazda reliability.
@ I own a CX5 myself there’s a lot I like about Mazda but this new line up is overpriced for what it is
thats honestly pretty on par if not cheaper than most the competition
I disagree, What can you get for $60k these days? I think its a great deal. Go for a Sorrento or Santa Fe and you'll pay more for less in a way.
Can't believe this is the same company that brought us the RX7 and RX8. Does Kodo mean boring?
get the evolve with the luxury and vision pack. you get pretty much everything except for electric steering adjustment, vented seats, touch screen, and a bunch of superficial nonsense you probably don't even know about.
Overlooked. My jar of sauce rolled out of the cargo trunk and smashed to the concrete floor. Fail.
Shifts as fast as 2002 tb48 patrol 👍
I think mazda may have missed the mark.with the latest suv line up. I dont see any major innovations..
There something 1st generation MPS3 & MPS6 & CX7 about these, look great on paper new high tech engine but very much flawed and probably unreliable over time.
56K for a 6 cilinder, spacious 7 seater? Which looks nice? What are you complaining about bro?

Yeah I agree Mazda lineup is so confusing and they all look the same 🤣
Good design. But not enough power and torque I would rather buy Ford ranger v6.
He wanted to love it but.... it's not from china

Love your review but don’t be so harsh please ❤️❤️❤️
Shit cars don't deserve good reviews.
Nahh he is telling the truth you little shit I like Japanese cars but Hyundai is proving themselves.
this guys reviews are getting hard to watch, he needs to settle down, its like getting a car review from an over excited 17 year old female.. settle petal..
replace the cx-70 with this with two rows
This range is YAWN. Boring AF
No thanks mazda. Ill keep my cx9 gt.
Yeah nah, I prefer my cars to have smaller noses 🤷🏼♀️
Could the reviewer consider toning down the hyperactive presentation style? It’s very immature.
It has been their style from the beginning. It's clearly liked by some since they have a decent following.

That side profile looks god awful
Mazda has lost its way and likely be gone by 2030
