I just adopted a stray papillon left at a gas station. We assume because it had seizures and we got her on meds right away. She learned tricks within the first 2 days and we have another small breed that she terrorizes. High energy and jumps from couch to couch like a goat or rabbit. She is definitely at home and one of the fam. She is a Godsend because she was brought into the clinic as we were putting our poor German Shepherd to sleep from cancer. These furbabies sure know how to worm their way into your hearts.💞
My girl was 16 when she passed. She was very smart and learned so many fun tricks. She was my exploring buddy but also my lazy day buddy. I miss her every day and want to get another when I get a chance. Once you have a papillon you won't want to go back. They are something special and it's hard to really explain unless you have owned one.
Had an older Papillon for 8 years, Daphne. She passed nye 20/21. She was amazing, always so happy, smart, and would jump around like a bunny or a fox. I miss her everyday.
I have a Papillion he's 17yrs old his name is Buffie. His Birthday was 12/03/22 he's getting real sick now, just last week he was up walking, and running around. Now I have to carry him around, don't want to eat, use the bathroom, have to take him Vet. Pray for him
I have a papillon that will be turning 13 in November and she’s absolutely insane and always has been. She goes for at least 1 mile long walk a day and will come home and play for 3 hours chasing her balls. She’s also one of the most anxious dogs I’ve ever seen (she also developed separation anxiety with my mom over the pandemic) but she’s one of the sweetest dogs I’ve had and gets so excited whenever she comes to see me at college or when I come home for breaks. She also sheds so much to the point we have to tarp off our basement bathroom whenever we bathe her because of how much fur comes off of her
I have a pap who's 10 years old, absolutely wonderful dog, I wouldn't say he's fragile as he runs and jumps and plays just like when he was a pup. Your video was spot on!
I had her 15 years and I miss her so much. She loved chasing squirrels and birds. While she wouldn't sit in my lap, she would sit where she could watch me. So full of energy and had heart of a lion, chasing after large dogs. Very agile. Couldn't catch her. Best dog I have ever had pleasure of adopting!!!
I have three Paps...they are my life. The oldest are now rising 7 and the youngest is rising 5. My boys always attract attention for the ears and the sweet faces they have.
I have 2 paps age 5 and 4. they are absolute angels. Always so gentle to my little boy. At first I was worried too if they can get along but now it’s the dogs I’m worried about. I need to remind my son to be gentle with them. mine loves cuddle! whenever I work from home they will want to sit next to me on the couch. they need a lot of exercise or they will chew the furniture lol I walked my dogs 4-5 times a day one super long (30-45 min) and the rest shorter just to give them time outdoor. they also loveeeeee zoomie and fetching balls.
My sweetie, Mojo, has pancreatitis, but it is very well controlled with HA vet diet food, and he loves a few peas every day. So smart, so loving, and has the most hilarious play and investigative behaviors. Loves to check out everything. I could go on for quite a long time !
I've been thinking the same names! Jaxson (God is gracious) and Mimosa (The beautiful pink flowering tree, not the drink.) for the Paps I'm getting. (If they are he and she.) . Jax & Mimi. 💖💖
I miss my sweet papillon. His name was Sebastian and he was my very first dog. I never wanted a dog and was proudly a cat person until I met him. It was love at first sight and I had him until he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I would love to have another dog with his temperament and intelligence again. He LOVED spa days (bath days and general grooming) and to run and play. He did tricks too. He was the best boy.
Aloha, loved this video and maybe it’s because my fur baby is a Pap, Maltese, Chihuahua mix, but must let you know that she is total LAP DOG. When I go to sit or lay down she is on my lap before I even have a chance to get situated🤣. I adore her butterfly ears. She’s the dearest love of my life🦋💖🕊.
Some years ago my parents adopted a little guy about 5 years old. He was fat, tired and depressed but super friendly! A few years later, we found out he’s got low metabolism, and after getting medication he seriously became a new dog! Now, as a 10 year old, he runs around like a maniac and tries to pick up sticks twice his size
We have had two papillons and non of they liked kids below 3 years. Children under 3-4 years of age do not give out correct signals so that the dog understands. Be careful. Our Goldie had to be put to rest recently because of tracheal collapse, kidney stones and large liver. :) After all, the Papillon is a very good family dog.
Sorry for the loss of your Golden. 😢. Paps are indeed incredible dogs. My sweet Miss Coco crossed the Rainbow Bridge in January on her 15th birthday. (Mine is Jan 16 !). I had her since she was about 8 weeks old. She was incredibly beautiful and intelligent. She truly enjoyed life! She ran like the wind. She always slept with me and she was in my arms when she died. She was the best dog, friend, and companion I’ve ever had. I miss her so much and cry for her every day. I’m checking with a few AKC Breeders of Merit to find a a puppy. I pray I find one soon. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. She was an integral part of my life.
I had to laugh when he said they’re not lap dogs 😂 just try to go to the bathroom without your papillon not wanting to sit in you lap. They are smart as a whip. Our current boy Jasper is not out-going as he was a rescue who was removed from a hoarder who also mistreated him. He is skittish and doesn’t trust other people, but our last papillon was a rescue too and he was lovable, fast as grease lightening, highly intelligent and was a phalene variety - drop eared. His name was Sebastian and he and our male basset hound would wrestle and rough house. One thing this man didn’t mention is their intense stare …. The have the most penetrating gaze/stare of any dog I have ever had.
Omg mine was a papillon rescue! and came to me as jasper! He is skiddish too! he just hides under the bed all day but has really come a long way. He is much happier now and really loves me and especially my son and really enjoys his walks. He often times gets frisky and wants play. He is so smart and wouldn’t answer to Jasper, so he named himself Rad. he wanted to be Brad but we had a Brad in the household already, so we came up with Rad and he likes it. His full name Conrad🥰😂. I wish the lil guy could tell me his story…
Ours was left for 12-13 hours/day by a previous owner and has huge abandonment issues - always has to be with one of us. Paps are not good dogs if you live alone and aren't home much!!!
It is sad how a bad owner can cause such damage to any dog. Our little guy, Jasper, doesn’t seem to have abandonment issues and he isn’t excessively clingy - he does get all excited when I come home even though my husband is there. He also has other dogs to play with. But when mommy comes home the roof starts to rock from all their excitement 🐶☺️

LOL well you probably prefer larger breed dogs, and that’s okay. I like both and I have had two papillons. They are smart as a whip and can really fly. They’re fun loving, courageous for their size and will roughhouse with a large dog. Golden retrievers are great dogs. I don’t know much about the KCS, but they’re a handsome dog. I also have basset hounds and they’re an excellent family dog, they’re smart, great hunters and trackers and are not lazy as portrayed - I think they’re droopy eyes gives them a look of a loafer, but they’re not. My best to you and 2 and 4-legged family.

I'm 17 years old, I'll be 18 next month, I gonna start working when I'm 18 and start living on my own at that time and I plan to own a papillon myself I want it to be a girl and name it Violet
They’re expensive. $300-$1500 for a pup here in the US.
@@alvaroakatico9188 I know that
They are lap dogs what is he on about almost all paps are lap dogs if not all of them
They are lap dogs, any young dog needs lots of exercise etc.
Butterfly dogs are not "toy dogs"
My pap loves to sit on my knee, they are a lap dog😤
Absolutely. Ours is the same
Hate these dogs. Annoying and miserable. I hated them. Mother was a breeder. Loathed the things. Loved golden retrievers and King Charles Cavaliers
So much that you took the time to watch a video and comment on it. Whatever dad.
@@JezebelSly lol for real what a loser 🤣👌
its maybe because they got more attention than you when growing up :)
Sorry Dan. We all have choices.
