Hi, Hello to you all and all your feathered friends ! I'm just wondering if there's any chance you can tell me when I can add three peachicks to my older peacock's pen? The peachicks are between two to three months old and I am not sure if they are male or female. But they have been inside a very large dog cage for 1+ months and I would like to let them loose now. I have had my peacock for about 3 months and he has never made an attempt to escape, even though I have sometimes accidentally not closed the door behind me. The only time he did escape was about a week after the peachicks arrived and I guess he heard them on my back deck where I had them. He (Jojo) literally came to the back porch door and was looking in at the peachicks! Then he went around the porch to the other side to see if maybe he could get in that way? I don't know but he wouldn't follow me back to his pen. That night he roosted high up in a tree, right in sight of my back porch where the peachicks were. I just felt like he really wanted to be close to the peachicks as he is alone (because I have not found a female for him yet). That's why I took in these three orphaned babies. So with Jojo, they can be a flock. Anyway, I got my neighbor to help me carry the cage with the peachicks into JoJo's pen and don't you know? JoJo followed right behind us! No coaxing necessary. So they have been in the pen with Jojo for over 2 weeks now and I would like to let them loose. Is it safe to do this? I read that JoJo could get aggressive if the peachicks cross his boundaries, which is why I keep their cage closed. I was thinking to wedge their door open so as they can come and go but JoJo will not be able to enter, this way they have a place to escape to if needed. I don't think JoJo will get aggressive. I have never seen him act aggressive but then again I only have him 3 months. I just want to keep everyone safe and happy. Any advice you can help me with will be greatly appreciated! 🙏🤗❤️
People make a big mistake, thinking that they could move their newly hatched or arrived in peachicks with older birds. I never do that until the birds are nearly full grown and sometimes they are a year old. And then it's always a challenge because they have to be accepted by the other birds. I think some of these videos I made in the past may be of help. I hope they do help you out. Thanks for the view.

Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it ❤️🦚 I will watch them now! 👍 🤗
Hi again, Jojo is approximately 3 years old in case you're wondering 😊
Thanks
will this work for winter use? its me again guys your man in the Rockies who lost 8 peacocks with this winter.....
Do you need to have a place that your birds can keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Thanks for the view.
When you have more then one male lose will the alpha bird chase the younger ones away
Older males three years old and older usually tolerate younger males of 1 to 2 years old. I've never seen that be a problem here on our farm for 43 years. With animals all bets are off and you never know they could change things up on you as soon as you think you know it all. But at least I'm not seen it happen.
