Drat from Ever True Tattoo here. Ive sponsored Andy for a while, and dem wheels... those bad boys we sponsored Andy with helped git a 3rd place overall. Great job Andy on the season and great info for those building 890s. Cheers!
This has got to be the best 890 I`ve seen so far!, just put a down payment on the 24 Duke390/398.7cc, going to use my 22 390 as a trade in, I love kTm😁.
Awesome bike Andy! It was awesome watching you battle all season against those FTR’s! Good luck in 24 can’t wait to see you flying on the high banks in Daytona!
Thanks Andy. You are a huge help and a great resource for the sport. For those that don’t know, Andy and his Dad are even nicer in person. I’m gonna ask Alex, then you, if he doesn’t know, what you did with key release for the rear cover. Also wondering if you did something to make changing front wheel faster. Four pinch bolts? C’mon!
VERY nice build... Interesting you chose the factory airbox with a power plate over the Rottweiler full intake. They say it's worth 6hp. Any way good luck this year Andy! We'll be pullin' for ya!
Liked and subscribed. I live in Portland and ride a Speed Twin but I think the 890 is a really cool bike. I am also old. You are wicked fast and I love watching your races. Thanks for the good content.
I've been waiting for this video and it did not disappoint! My favorite 890R by far. I love that radiator. That's just so cool, I live somewhere extremely hot as well, but definitely can't afford one of those at the moment. But I can just watch this bike all day. Amazing
So sick man, lot of hurt feelings you brought to folks with that thing lol. Getting ready to start my 890 build soon, excited to get going and to see what you bring out for '24! Cheers brother. -Jordan
Andy, maybe 😁it would be moooore cool if you post "the list" of the all "changes" in your bike with the appropriate links 😉 I'm about to build the Duke "like yours" 🤓 but in France. So here I try to compare and find the parts to instal on.
Incredible setup! One question. How did you change the angle of Akrapovic muffler can? On your bike it goes parallel to bike unlike original layout when end of a can goes outwards.
Hey Andy, did you come down a tooth on the front sprocket? These bikes seem geared too high for the characteristics of the engine on the street and it also struggles on the highway at legal speeds (wants to change down to do any work). Maybe the stock gearing is fine for track where always in the power band. A local crew have suggested a fix for the cam and other internal problems plaguing the 890. They replace a spring in the bottom of the engine which doubles the oil pressure. They first tried the Dirt Tricks cam chain tensioner swap but found problems with it (which later surfaced overseas) and moved to increase overall oil pressure allow the OEM hydraulic tensioner to work better from the moment the bike starts. Did you change the oil pressure when you added the oil radiator?
Thanks for the deep dive on your bike. My ‘21 is mainly a street rig for now, but I was very interested to see if you ditched the factory quickshifter. I feel it would not be a good choice for racing as it’s too unpredictable in my use. Two upgrades on my list now are the Dynojet QS and the Rekluse TorqDrive clutch. Does the Dynojet unit integrate with the factory dash? Or through the PCV? Looking forward to seeing you take down McWilliams after he defected from the bike he helped develop. ✌🏼
Hey Andy, wooow this bike is awesome.. I just got a question for you what is you front break master pump? I just break the screw pad from my original brembo one and it seems to be not able to be fixed… so in you video I see you have something else maybe I can go for yours ^^
Thanks for the follow-up on your build. Enjoyed watching your races all season. Is MotoAmerica going to fix the minimum weight rule? The FTRs have enough advantage already without putting an anchor on the KTM.
Big fan of yours, watched you all season. I founded Rekluse so great to see that technology a part of your program. I also have an 890R track bike and my biggest complaint is the quick shifter. I don't know what they were thinking when the spec'd a position sensor instead of a pressure sensor. I don't suppose that changing to the pressure sensitive sensor is as easy as bolting it up and running the calibration procedure, is it? Or do you have to add the power commander?
Quickshifters are known on these to be out of calibration if the tech doing the setup didn't read the instructions closely - the dealership should be able to recalibrate it for you, it requires the KTM factory computer. Also have a very modified 890R trackbike and the QS is fantastic, so would expect there's something else going on here.
@@Neosho1337 My biggest complaint isn't with the qs function, its fine, not as good as my '18 cbr1000. No missed shifts or false neutrals or anything. My problem is that I have big feet and as I move around on the bike, I sometimes catch the shifter with my boot just a bit, never enough to engage the shift, but sometimes enough to get a brief cut of the ignition. A pressure sensor wouldn't do that.
Did you ever try the Woodcraft Clip On set they make for the Duke 890 ? Would work without steering stop modifications and they are quite adjustable as well.
Yeah I don’t have any shifting issues. I run the stock quickshifter on my other 2 bikes and it works great on them, but I like the DynoJet sensor a little better. Shirts are available now from ASV Inventions if you contact them 👍🏼
Hi Andy, I love your graphic kit here ! Can you tell me, or someone who knows, which brand is it ? Thanks and good luck for 2024 SH. Can't wait to see you on a 990 😎
Hi Andy, I speak to SKDA about your graphic kit. They told me that it wasnt from them. Any idea where I can find the same graphic that yours ? I really like it compare to anything that I can find on the market.
There are several tuners that can tune the stock ECU. I don’t know why Andy would go the PC route. It’s not like he still has a warranty being he is racing the bike.
That's a pretty nice shot with the fallen yellow leafs and pavement. Question: I have the Akra map on my 890 R 2022 and would you recommend a different map for better sound and pop/bangs?
990 Duke is coming so next year you will have more chances to beat those Indians bikes though. How much you have put in parts on that 890R? It looks badass!!
Andy, your bike LOOKS SICK MAN! Loved this video. Curious to know, you mentioned that you preferred to keep the stock intake with the DNA filter + PC5. Why not make the upgrade to the Pro/race edition intake from rottweiler?
I had one on a race bike I just sold. EDR Dyno’d that bike against another I had with a stock air box back in the beginning of 2022, and the stock air box bike made more outright HP. The Rottweiler intake was really close though. The real gains came from the PC5. So I don’t run it because there’s no advantage from what we saw. Both bikes had the same parts, just different intakes so it was a heads up comparison
Hello Andy. I have a question about the Bonamici rearsets. I do some lower level racing on my 890R and my foot keeps slipping, so I am looking for some new rearsets. Would you say that there is a big enough difference between the Bonamici and the KTM powerparts rearsets for it to be worth the 200 euro price difference? Thank you!
The pegs on the Bonamici have a lot more grip than the KTM ones for sure. I also really like the shifter design on Bonamici. On the KTM ones, your foot can put pressure on top of the lever the way it’s mounted together with the peg, and if you aren’t careful with your foot it can make the quickshifter think you’re trying to shift. I’ve had issues at lean angle exiting corners and had the ignition cut because I was sloppy with my foot
@@andydibrino I've also had the power cut when im near the shifter. I assume it is possible to adjust the Bonamici rearsets to be close to the factory position. I am 6'7 in boots, so it would be nice to be able to have a more relaxed foot position for longer rides. Thanks for the answer!
No. A Superduke against an Indian FTR 1200 would be just unfair. Even on the Duke 890R they have to add weight ballasts to the bike to make it heavier for Super Hooligans series. If Andy was allowed to take those off he would beat the Indians quite easily.
I hit up EDR for parts for my 890R after seeing videos you've posted. The mods they recommended took care of all my needs. Thanks for all the insight.

Yeah he sells them. Alex Taylor is his name if you want to look him up on Instagram or Facebook.
@@andydibrino Thank you man. Much love to ya and can’t wait for the next journey for you.
KTM Power Parts or Bonamici rearsets? I noticed you changed out the KTM PP rearsets at some point. Hope to see you back on the Duke in Hooligans soon.
What size rear tire are you running Andy ? Thanks bike looks awesome
195/65. Can I put them in stock duke R?

So did the SUTER clutch overheat, even with the Speed box oil cooler, and bigger water pump?
How does the Rottweiler power plate compare to the pro intake system?
It’s designed for the stock airbox, which is what I run, and with mods this setup is preferred for making the most hp possible
Did you ever try the Woodcraft Clip On set they make for the Duke 890 ?

Clip-ons on a naked bike is lame 😆 i won’t run them. Not in the spirit of a naked bike

You dampen a rag, you damp suspension.

Can EDR help with rebuilding a dead 890 engine? Typical cam issue led to failure.
Great riding this year Andy! I’m curious, why are you running a Power Comander vs getting your ECU flashed?
Unless you have the hook up - stock ECU is Locked. Power commander five works best. PC 6 is too EPA redistricted
